The Gigabyte RTX 5090 Gaming OC is hands down the most powerful card I’ve ever owned. It crushes every game I’ve tested — 4K, max settings, ray tracing on — and barely breaks a sweat. The cooling system is fantastic and surprisingly quiet for a card this size.
Yeah, it’s huge and you’ll need a strong power supply, but if your setup can handle it, you’ll be blown away by the performance. The RGB looks great, build quality is top-notch, and temps stay cool even after long gaming sessions.
It’s expensive, but honestly worth it if you want the best and don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon.
I game on 5120x1440 32.9 and 4k

Pros:
Build Quality
- Expected build quality for a $2.6k card
- Size is almost 4slot @ 70mm
- Fits a Geometric Future Model 5 case with ease
Performance
- It will blow away anything you throw at it, and more.
- DLSS4 is a game changer, but not a selling point of this card due to backwards compatability of it
- MFG is good, but it's carried by the cards raw performance more than the technology itself.
Runs cool
- Average GPU Temp. 42.8c @ 22c room temp
- High GPU Temp. 66c under full load
- Rarely hit 575W limit
Coil Whine
- My unit has no coil whine.
Sound
- Fans are quiet under load (Performance Bios).
- Max fan speed I saw was 50% @ 1555RPM
- Maybe about 39db, I did not measure. Inaudible unless next to the case.
----------------------------------------------------------
Cons:
Connectorgate2.0
- Every 5090 owner will have a paranoia of a melting 12v-2x6 cable. Hopefully Nvidia addresses and fixes this issue. This is a bigger con to me than the price.
- ATX 3.0 or ATX 3.1 is mandatory if you are buying this card.
Price
- High MSRP that keeps increasing
- Tariffs are not a friend of this card regardless of AIB
Difficulty to obtain
- I was lucky to get this during the 2/13 drop
- Real availability of this card feels like it's months out
- I have never had so much trouble handing somebody $2k in my life.
----------------------------------------------------------
Summary:
Though I have only had this card a short time, it's an exceptional card. The card is well built, runs cool, but with the con of a very inflated price. An ATX 3.0/3.1 PSU is mandatory. I would absolutely avoid 3rd party cables, right angle adapters, cable extenders, and strimers when using this card.
Finally, I would only recommend it for a true PC gaming enthusiast who values performance above all. There are much better price to performance cards in the market.

This Graphics card is so fast and amazing, the user interface is so easy to use and even with the weight of it, it comes with a GPU sagging mount which helps out alot

As far as 5090's go, this one was pretty disappointing.
Cons:
- the fan LEDs are installed under the blades, meaning while the card is on the fans spin and the LEDs flicker like they're broken.
- the side lights can be exposed by a plastic plate.... that covers the "GIGABYTE" logo when slid to the side, making it look like a second thought. See photos
Pros:
- higher base clock speed card
- very quiet

It's a great but expensive card; in my case very worth it because I play a lot of higher-end games (like CP2077, Halo, Horizon etc.) on a widescreen which requires even more GPU power than a regular ratio screen.
It is a VERY large card though, so make sure your case has space for it first.

I am not a fan of Gigabyte's customer support. They are slow, and do not know their own products well.
The card itself performs very well, but is somewhat noisy, even after a custom fan curve. (Especially in Red Dead Redemption 2, where it has an odd, low-pitched version of coil whine.)

UPGRADING FROM THE RTX GAMING OC 4090 this 5090 model is a beast !!! I got it on month three and on launch day ended up getting a 5080 windforce also. No complaints from Gigabyte cards at all, this is my fourth one all in all. Go Big Or GO HOME RIGHT?!?! Its true once youve gotten to this level your standard will never be the same. The card runs smooth. Everything maxed out ... I play on Odyssey G9 and a Samsung s90c

After many months of missed drops and sold out by the time I get to check out, I finally scored a 5090, this isn't my first rodeo with Gigabyte OC, I have a non-super RTX4080 Giga OC also, Im not much for benchmarks, but have tested the card, and it does not disappoint...currently paired with a 7800x3D, I plan to run this card for many years :D powered by a Corsair RM1200x Shift PSU, next step finding the perfect OLED. The Gigabyte RTX 5090 Gaming OC is, without a doubt, the most impressive graphics card I've ever had in my PC. From the moment I installed it, I was amazed by the combination of raw power, efficiency, and premium design.

This card is massive. I had to remove my other PCIe devices to fit it. I also had to rearrange my cables and cpu water loop. It took me 24 hours to get it installed because I had to wait for water components from amazon. Once I finally got it in, I was not disappointed at all. It's a huge upgrade over my 3080.

Jokes aside it’s the best card you can get currently (RIP MSRP) runs basically everything at max 4k. Sleek and fun RGB if you’re into that sort of thing

Ive had no problem. I woild make sure you know what youre doing when youre setting this bad boy ip to make sure you wont get any overheating issues, and that you have the recommened components to support a monster like this

Amazing. Mostly used for AI models. Only down part is CUDA from NVIDIA still having issues on Tensorflow and Pytorch. Hopefully soon they fix it and we can run lastest AI models without issues. Gaming is perfect no problems

This review goes more against best buy QC than the GPU itself. I bought an open box on 11/30/25 at a discount and thought I got a good deal. It wasn't until I got it and it wouldn't turn on. Tried different PSU and PC but still nothing. When I returned it at best buy told me it had a different SKU number from the original and someone swapped it out. Including the vram chips. Be very careful with open box high end GPUs because it's a known scam with best buy. They hardly test return GPUs. Good thing I recorded unboxing in case they try to deny return. If you can't check out with pickup make sure to open the order at the best buy. Gotta cover yourself
