Battery life is very poor

I purchased mine on 10/30/2021 and had them put up on November 7, 2021. Now just a month and a half later I have had to pull them down and charge them twice. That is very inconvenient for me and it was my thought that they would last 6 months. When you fully charge them it tells you they have 18 months of battery life. My doorbell camera was purchased at this same time and installed the same day, it too has to be recharged every two weeks. Very disappointed after spending $400+ on cameras.

The wide angle lens covers just about my whole yard. What I like about it best is the camera is not fixed, and can be turned and twisted into just any position you might need. Too many other cameras are in a fixed position and cannot be adjusted,

Only a year and a half in and it won't hold a charge more than a few days and it takes forever to charge. It is not in a high traffic area where it's triggered to record constantly, so the battery should hold up better especially for the cost.

Posted .Hi there, JasonJ. Sorry to see the Nest Cam (Battery) wasn’t quite what you were looking for. There are a number of things that can impact battery drain like activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. Here’s also a few tips to conserve more battery:
1. Change the video quality.
2. Adjust how much activity your camera records.
3. Shorten the maximum event length.

We have a very active household and the cameras are set up for motion detection. Even still, the battery lasts around 15 to 20 days even though they are constantly turning on with all the commotion in our home. They take about 5 hours to charge so it's pretty easy to charge both cameras. The magnet on these cameras is extremely strong. They aren't going to move, slip, slide, or anything. These cameras are top quality.

I have it linked with Google Home and utilized the outdoor weather cable. I did notice an extra item the previous model did not have. The cable lock was a great addition and will be used well. Setup and placement of this product was very easy with minimal issues connecting to my network. I currently use Nest aware and like the options offered to me. I do wish we have an upgrade to 4k in the near future.

I do like the face reginition feature, but when you’re using a wireless setup I feel there is really nothing stopping someone from stealing the camera. Not sure what they’d do with it if stolen, but would be nice to have some kind of safety mechanism to prevent it from being removed. Batter life is pretty good and doesn’t require me to recharge the battery every week. It says it lasts over 6months on a charge. So far, I’ve charged it once completely and it’s at 90% on one camera and 40% on the other. The reality is the battery life depends on how often a camera is triggered. I have the Ring at my main property and Google at the rental. I like Ring’s interface over Google.

Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day)

New version not good
