The battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and doorbell settings that you select. You can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events to monitor specific areas. Also, the Nest Cam (battery) is designed with versatility since it’s an outdoor/indoor battery powered device. It can be used with a set of various power accessories including two weatherproof cables with power adapter (sold separately), of 16 ft and 33 ft in length. If you find it more convenient connecting to continuous power that will keep the battery charged, which is required to get 24/7 video history if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, we suggest using the weatherproof cable since the included power adapter is not intended for outdoor use.

I put it off thinking I would need to drill holes and mount it but I was wrong. The magnets are very strong and the battery lasts for a month or more depending on how often you use it. The magnet on the base holds very firmly to any metal and the camera attaches to the base with magnets as well and you can position it however you need it. It charges very quickly and lasts a long time.

Slowly been replacing the old nest cameras. I just wish they had the same fuctions as the old nest cameras but the new features are good as well.

Good camera

Decent Camera for most

Not as good as the old nest cameras but still decent for most people. The only downside is you have to use the god awful atrocious Google Home app. Get a bridge to use the Home app.

Also, Google accounts come with the added benefits, such as one account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps, automatic security protections, your Google Nest devices and services working together, and more.

Not quite a finished product unfortunately

We need more legit battery-operated cameras in the market. We are a Google Home home, and have lots of Google products that we love and use every day, but it's as if these were released incomplete. They are crazy heavy, the battery is terrible, and we had such poor interference with our ceiling-mounted LED lights, that the video would be nearly obscured with black stripes. We went through Google to get replacements, which we'll try out, but are not hopeful.

I took them back and bought the eufy cameras and they work great will be switching to eufy products from now on

I just moved into my new house and went from Ring to Nest. I bought these battery cameras because where i wanted my cameras there was no power source anywhere near it. They work great and ive had no issues at all. The battery life is not an issue unless your trying to record 24/7. If you do motion only and create a zone and pick people and vehicles it will last for a month or 2 before needing a charge.
