Warning: doesn't work well with old Nest Cameras

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just talked with Google Nest support and this 'Nest' camera does NOT work with the Nest app, only the Google home app. WORSE is that the old Nest cameras don't fully work in the Google home app (no video history). So the answer from support is using two separate apps to get alerts and video history. That is crazy. So don't buy unless you don't own any Nest products currently. And even then--the Google Home app is pretty bad/not easy to use. They should remove the name 'Nest' from the product and give warnings about this.

The new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app, but you can view your old Nest Cams in the Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. If you set up your camera or doorbell in the Home app, you can use the Home app to change its settings, and if you first set up your camera or doorbell in the Nest app, most of its settings will be in the Nest app, but you can also change some settings in the Home app. Camera settings that appear in both the Home app and Nest app (for example, turning the camera on or off) will look different. However, changing one of these settings in one app will be reflected in the other app.
Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place. The battery lasts for a long time and we only have to charge ours once a month or longer.

Nest app doesnt work on google tv!? What a joke

The products are a dead end with almost incremental improvement or updates from Google. Functionality is limited to a few convenient use cases but lacks many key features with no options for expansion or to use the cameras outside of googles system. Very difficult to review or export footage and due to cloud aspect video is seldom available in real time when it can be important. I definitely would not depend on this stuff for security. We will be installing a real camera system

Best security camera

Because I had already setup the doorbell via Google app, adding these were simple. I also bought the extra long outdoor cables. No fault alerts after using for 6 months. No charging needed. working even during power outage.

In addition, one of the three cameras wouldn't boot up after numerous tries on multiple networks. I brought back to Best Buy and was told I couldn't exchange for a single camera and instead needed to go take down the other two and return all three. . . and then start over again. Very frustrating

We have them in the house to watch the Nanny with our baby and love it! We can see clearly, the motion sensors are on point and the app is easy to use. You will love it too!

Not much to it drill 2 holes attach mount and camera hooks via magnet ! Battery life varies based upon settings so adjust as needed. Everything seems great and intergration with google app is great. Definately will purchase 2 more

I like that these are wireless and you can wire it for continuous recording. Pretty crazy that Ring doesn’t have continuous recording, that’s why I go with Nest.

Had an appointment for 7 :30 -1 got a call at 3pm running late, had big job had no time to call. Told rep your service sucks said he was reporting me to his supervisor because I said he sucks . Told him to late for service had plans. Waisted 8hrs of my day no apologies
