Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So nice to see who is driving up and the doorbell rings on all my nest minis so even if im in the garage i know when someone is here. The only thing i dont like is that the video clip only stays in the application for 3 hours. I can save it during that time but if I dont get to it, its gone. You can get a supscription to save them longer but i don't need another subscription.

Nest has long been focused on delivering quality products to our customers. We’re also focused on giving our customers value for the price, including three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to receive advanced features. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features. So far the video and sound quality seems a lot better and it picks up a lot of activity.

Had the old one and while it looked nice and shiny new it quickly started cracking on what looks like plexiglass. Bought this newer one because the older one stopped working. My only problem with it is that they flipped the design on the base plate for the screw hole slots. I had to make new holes in the wall because they were different as far as the mounting holes go. The screw hole that has a horizontal slot for fine tuning vertical alignment has been switched around to the top i think it was. Other than that, i would recommend it either way.

It’s beautiful but…

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my google products and this one is right there to but I do have just a couple of things that I feel are downgrades from it’s predecessor. I feel the wide camera view was much better before and the biggest issue I have is having to move from the nest app to google home. Home is fine but nowhere near the functionality of the nest app. I hope this decision is reversed or the google home camera functionality is modified to be more similar to nest.

The transformer (doorbell lines connect to) needed to be changed to 16vac/30va as there was not enough electrical current output causing the light on the doorbell to be yellow with no video access After, replacing, the light turned green. Everything works.

We had a video doorbell that came with our security system but it wasn’t meeting all of our needs unfortunately. We turned to Google since we have our house integrated with Google compatible devices. The set up was very straightforward and the google app walks you through install with picture, videos, and written instructions. You can also call a pro if you need. This Camera was perfect for what we needed. Facial recognition, fast operating system, accessible through my app, push notifications, alerts and more. This may sound sponsored but I just believe in good products and honest reviews before I make important purchases. Hope this helps
