Works great for about a month but then it looses the internet conection and will not get it back. Almost like it has a defective wifi chip. Nest tech support was very good to work with and in isolating the problem. They are sending me a new one in 2 days. An updated one I hope.

But can you set it on a certain temp and it stays there? Nope. It always reverts to what it’s learned. And that can be very hit or miss. It sometimes jacks my heat to 71, which is interesting cause I never go higher than 68.

It's possible to disable the learning feature for Nest Learning Thermostat and set it as a traditional programmable thermostat. This will let you set it to a fixed temperature setting of your choice. To set it, check out the steps below:
- Turn off Auto-Schedule learning. When you turn off Auto-Schedule, your existing schedule will remain but your thermostat will stop learning from your future adjustments. If you like, you can clear the existing schedule as well (see step 2 below). On your thermostat: Press the ring and choose Settings > and then Nest Sense > and then Auto-Schedule > and then Off.
- Clear your existing schedule. This is an option if you want to completely erase your existing schedule, here’s how: On your thermostat, select Settings > and then Reset > and then Schedule. Depending on which Nest thermostat you have, select either Reset or Clear.
- Setup your manual schedule. Manually creating or editing the schedule will let your thermostat change your home’s temperature at fixed times that you’ve set. On your thermostat: Go to the schedule screen on your thermostat > Press the ring and choose Schedule Nest thermostat schedule icon.

Outside of that....this is beast....I’m loving using this and the learning feature is amazing. Day by day it’s getting to a point where I don’t even have to adjust it!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My nest was working great and integrated with Alexa and all the bells and whistles, until my house stopped heating after a week of bitter cold. The Nest appeared to be working fine but would not turn on the heater. I thought something was wrong with the furnace and paid $100 for an emergency visit. Find out it was the guy's THIRD Nest of the day and that the cold weather is short circuiting the internal battery. I had to pay another $100 for a temporary thermostat so my house doesn't freeze and the Nest site says I will have to pay yet another $100 to install a common wire to fix what is their own design flaw. I've been on nest support for over an hour waiting to talk to someone. The site is terrible in communicating this flaw so unless I had not read about this in the news or had a furnace guy familiar with the issue, I would never have known.

It works okay. I find the thermostat doesn’t kick on until the temperature is 1 or 2 degrees above (in cooling mode) the desired temperature. Haven’t had the thermostat in cold months. The app seems to work better than the Honeywell app... so far.
