Really liked the look and features of the Nest. I definitely had a noticeable decrease in energy consumption. But, after only 6 months, I pulled it down. Because... I liked the Wi-Fi and remote access features from my tablet of phone....worked great for about 3 months and then constantly went off line and it was very time consuming to get it back on. Sometimes, just a restart would do it, other times, I had to go through the entire process again....just got tired of it dropping out all the time. My new Honeywell T5 Lyric is rock solid in that regard. Would have kept the Nest if connectivity was consistent.

This device performs as the videos and reviews from others have described. There is a lot of functionality built into the device. Easy to install and program. All my expectations have been met and beyond.

Great monitor works amazing looks amazing only problem ive had is it sometimes doesn’t completely turn off after powering down my pc the backlight will stay on even with no display connection

Made our furnace work like it never has before. Our furnace is 20 years old. It was turning on and off constantly. The Nest seemed to solve that problem. Monitors usage everyday, love the way it works.

my old therm used to run constantly and I never felt like our house was ever as cold as it is now without hardly ever running the unit. Love being able to control the unit from my phone too.

I've had three of these in my house that is heated by a single hot water boiler that provides baseboard heat and our entire house hot water. After the 3rd year of having these, they started to disconnect from my very expensive NetGear Nighthawk network (specifically designed for having multiple products connected to it). For some reason, the batteries in all 3 started to fail and when the back-up battery is low, it will disconnect from your network first. I set up a call with a support person who had no idea what he was talking about. After 45 minutes of me running back-and-forth to all 3 of them, he recommend that I run a "white" wire to each from the basement (there is already a white wire at each connection and he knew this). I told him that wasn't possible, and since they were out of warranty, I'd have to either buy new ones, or remove them from my walls and charge them with a micro USB cable every week. Well, I went to the forum and found out that I needed to change my existing and add a second 24v transformer on my boiler. When I did that, the problem went away. My boiler expert who repaired mine said that I had too many items on the one 24v transformer that I had and that by putting 3 of the 6 accessories (of which 3 were the thermostats) on each of the 2 new transformers, it would work better--and it did. Google support was a joke; the person had no idea what he was talking about and I would say has probably never even seen a Nest product. My advice is that if you have problems, go to the forums, not the Google support phone number. I hate that Nest sold out to Google. Unfortunately, I've already invested thousands in their products and can't afford to waste money and get new equipment.

I love my thermostat. I have had it for a while and don't know how I would be without one. I love being able to turn heat or air on from another location in my house via the app

I like this little thermostat. I disnt like that bestbuy said they would have it ready in 2hrs and then said the next day ... while we could see multiple on the shelf so we returned it online and bought it ourselves.

The Nest works well on its own or integrated with other smart-home products. Its software and apps are solid and elegant, too, and it does a really good job of keeping your home at a nice comfy temperature with little to no input from you. Plus, if you want to change the temperature yourself, you can easily do so from your smartphone or computer, or with your voice via Google or an Amazon Echo. All of that means never having to get up from a cozy spot on the couch to mess with the thermostat. While the competition is catching up, none of the other devices we tested could match the Nest’s awesomeness. The expansion of the Works with Nest smart-home ecosystem and the introduction of Home/Away Assist have kept the Nest in the lead by fine-tuning those smart capabilities. The recent hardware update merely added a larger screen and a choice of clock interfaces, but the ongoing software improvements (which apply to all three generations of the product) have helped keep the Nest in its position as the frontrunner in this category without leaving its early adopters out in the dry. One of the key selling points of any smart thermostat is its ability to connect with other smart home products. The Nest device itself is a well-designed, beautifully engineered piece of hardware that would still work as a learning thermostat in your home even if the company were to disappear. It doesn’t need Internet connectivity to use its core features, so it won’t ever become a paperweight.
