I doubted my husband could install it but it really was easy. I love that I can change the temperature from my phone and not stop what I’m doing. I’m sure it has paid itself off by the energy saved when we are not home

Very easy to install and works like a charm. Can't wait to find out exactly how much money we will save with one on every level of the house. Nice to be able to adjust with iphone/ipad. Numbers light up and make it very convenient to read as you are walking by the unit.

4/5 i like the sleek look and feel. Intergrstes with my google cameras. Love that it wakes up the screen when i walk near it. Only downside is that it does what it wants even after ive turned some of the features off. I know its a smart device but sometimes i find my temperature too low then too high. Then self adjusts for economy mode. Feel like i have to constantly be checking temperature to make sure its where i like it.

I bought this unit to upgrade from Gen 2 because it can both make use of the sensors and it has dual-band WiFi for a stronger signal. It was very easy to install, it looks great, and it’s very intuitive to use, either on the wall, with your phone, or via a voice assistant. I’ll ding it a little bit because the sensor schedule—that is, when the device can be told to use which sensor—can’t be customized. You have 4 pre-set blocks to choose from, and that’s it. But then the trouble started. First I got a dreaded W5 error, meaning it’s WiFi radio was no longer working. I contacted Google for a replacement, which arrived promptly… but it kept getting caught in a boot loop and I couldn’t set it up. A second replacement arrived and wouldn’t correctly read my (very straightforward!) wiring, despite the fact that the one with the W5 error still could. The third replacement had the same issue, at which point I was advised to spend $130 to have a technician inspect my system to verify it was in fact the thermostat that wasn’t working. So after 6 total hours on the phone with customer support and HVAC technicians, and 3 replacement thermostats, I finally got my fourth one: an ecobee. I had it on and functioning in 20 minutes. My experience is probably very far outside the norm. I most likely just had a run of bad luck; I know when I see reviews like this for something I have maybe already talked myself into, I think, “ah but that’s just one guy; he’s unlucky or he did something wrong; that won’t happen to me.” And it probably won’t! But given the sheer number of issues I encountered—from failing components to annoying limitations to inept and sometimes contradictory customer support (who, at the end of the day, are call-center employees and decidedly *not* HVAC technicians)—I’d urge you to strongly consider other smart thermostats. This one is just not worth the risk or the headaches.

I love this thermostat. It's exactly what you'd expect if it had the Apple logo on it. It's very intuitive which makes it easy to use. Once it's been connected to your home network, you can change the temperature of your home from your phone from anywhere in the world. The only reason I'm deducting a star is that my first Nest thermostat's wifi chip stopped working after a couple years. The thermostat itself still worked but I no longer had remote access to it and since it was outside the warranty period, I had no choice but to purchase another unit. Here's hoping my new one doesn't have it's wireless chip burn-out after a couple of years.

Very excellent product! Really easy to install yourself! I love that it connects to wifi and that you are able to control the temperature when you are not home! Really easy to use!

Beautiful design and great interface. Very happy with my purchase. After following the installation instructions it took 20 minutes to install it. Don't forget to take a photo of your old wires and their configuration--this makes installation so much easier.

We bought this to replace a Honeywell smart thermostat that was not very smart.. The Nest is far easier to set up than other smart thermostats and functions great. We immediately saw a daily decrease in energy usage.

I compared several smart thermostats and decided on this one. We bought the black mirror design. Looks great on our wall. Very easy to install and connect. Sleek design. Glad we decided on this smart thermostat. 5 stars!

This thermostat has easy to follow instructions and worked as soon as I was able to get it connected. I like having the capability of changing the temperature even when I am not at home.

I love this thing. Installation was no where as easy as I thought it was going to be. I took a pic of my old unit but it did not have nearly all the same input terminals as the Nest did so it wasn't a quick swap. I actually had to swap it a few times to get it figured out and clean the wires up in the process which isn't really a bad thing. With that said I learned some things in the process which is ALWAYS a good thing. I love being able to just tell my Alexa to crank the heat a few degrees first thing in the morning before getting out of bed or easily setting up routines. This thing is awesome. Looks nice too.

Works great. I live in a 2 story home and the master bedroom is downstairs while the AC is upstairs. The app makes it easy so my lazy self doesn’t have to go upstairs to adjust the thermostat whenever I want.

The nest thermostat was very easy to install. It has save on my energy bill. The features are great. I love changing the temperature from anywhere. If I forget to turn the temperature down before I go out of town, it does it for me. Love it.

So easy to use and so accurate over traditional thermostats; plus, you can control it while you're away from the home. This is my third Nest and it has saved me a lot of money over the years.

A great purchase for any homeowner with a compatible HVAC system. Adds a nice visual touch to your wall with its high end appearance. Very easy to install, setup, and use. Learns your patterns in no time.

The Nest is a snazzy piece of technology that may make a difference for people with a connected home who don't like to micromanage their thermostat. Installation and setup is easy and the Nest generally performs well. Amazon Echo integration is limited to IFTTT for now, so it's a bummer that there isn't native Echo support, which would make this THE perfect thermostat. It's pricey, and it will take several months for the Nest to pay for itself.
