I do not have central air conditioning and as such, did not feel that I needed the more advanced features that the learning Nest model offers. So I purchased this model instead and am very satisfied with it so far. It's extremely intuitive to use and I love being able to not only actually program my heat (I had an old mechanical thermostat before this), but also to be able to control it remotely in case I'm gone for extended period of time. A word of advice for anyone looking to install this themselves, make sure to take full advantage of Google's compatibility checker ahead of time and learn the wiring of your HVAC/current thermostat first. I needed to have a C wire in order to use this product and while this wire was in the wall with the other two wires that my old thermostat used, the C wire wasn't actually connected to anything. I had to connect it to the new thermostat but also find it on the other end and connect it to the terminal on my boiler. If the wire didn't already exist in the wall, I believe I would've needed to run new wiring in order to use this product. The point being, setup was actually pretty easy but required me to have a deeper understanding of the wiring in my house first. The only potential con I would point out is the mirrored surface of the thermostat. If you plan to install this on a wall that gets a lot of lot or is otherwise very visible from other parts of the room, the reflective surface may bother you. Also, make sure to check with your local utility company as they may offer a rebate on this and/or other models! I was able to save an additional ~$30 by submitting for a rebate after purchasing.

Love this thermostat. I have the Nest learning for the upper part of my home and purchased this to cover the downstairs (different heating and cooling zones in my home) and to be honest, I like the look of this so much better. And not to mention, the price! This cost over $100 less than my other nest and I cannot tell the difference in use. I don’t need sensors, which aren’t compatible with this thermostat, so it doesn’t really matter to me. They’re both smart devices that I can control through my iPhone and google hubs. Plus, I really like how this one looks. I got the sand, which is a nice dusty rose/muted pink. Also, I installed both thermostats myself and they were similar in that regard.

This is the second Nest thermostat that I have owned. I sold my house and left the thermostat for the new owner to enjoy. This thermostat is very easy to setup. The functions are great. You can control the thermostat through your Google Home app. The look of the thermostat goes great with our decor. And last, the price is excellent!

My in-laws had troubles reading and using their old thermostat (which still needed to be switched from heat to cool). So, I installed this updated version of the thermostat I have been using for the last few years. It was easier to install than I remember and now I can control their HVAC for them. No more accidentally setting it to an insane temperature and then just dealing with it because they don't want to be a bother. Now, I just set it at a range I know they both like and walk away. No need to swap from heat to cool, it does it on its own. And if they feel uncomfortable, I can remotely change the settings for them.

For many years I was pleased with the generation 2 nest thermostat, unfortunately google decided to cease support for it so a replacement had to be found. After review this seemed to be an easy replacement, which it was. I was able to change over to this in about 20 minutes. Still learning all the 'bells and whistles' to it but overall, it was an easy transfer.

Best investment you can make for thermostat. Looks great. Installed in 10 mins. Helps control the home temperature in more ways than an old programmable thermostat would. I can even monitor status when I am away. You can edit schedules right from your phone.

This smart thermostat was sort of a pain. First, it's a Nest but doesn't work with the Nest app. To connect it to our Google home collection of devices, took multiple tries without a clear reason as to why it couldn't save/ add the new device. We finally added it and it's fine. Does the job, easy to set up temperature preferences and schedules. Very basic, clear display. We bought the wall plate separately, which is way huge, but necessary to install. Overall satisfied with the purchase. We also own the more expensive Nest Thermostat and this one is easier to set up schedules, has every feature we actually use.

Google ended support for my previous Nest, so I replaced it with this model. Temperature control seems fine, but the touch interface on the side of the thermostat does not work as well as the rotating function of the old thermostat. Additionally, this model uses standard batteries instead of an internal battery and will disconnect from WiFi when power is lost. I believe my previous thermostat would stay connected for some time. Lastly, requires 5 wire for heat and cool. Description says "C-wire, 4-Wire"; which is slightly confusing. There is a power kit available, but I chose to run an additional wire.

Install was easy and worked great for the most part. Like that it has replacable AA batteries so no need to run an additional power wire. Didnt give it 5 stars because it IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the nest sensor. I mean come on... what kind of nickle and dime nonsense it this from Google???? If you want to use the sensor (so that it reacts to the temp of a particular room instead of the thermostat location) you will have to spend $150 more on the higher end model. Simply poor customer UX.

I like these a lot they’re pretty easy to set up and even though they’re not the learning ones I love them.

This thermostat lets me control my usage with manual, scheduled or even adaptive temperature control. It's really useful when you want to limit usage at certain times if day to help save at peak times. I like that I can check up on it from anywhere to go it from my phone! I have been a nest user since 2017 and there really isn't any other way I would choose to monitor my usage. It also can.be voice commanded via Google which is a huge plus.

Easy to install, easy to program using Google Home app. Smart enough for our needs. Attractive. With rebates from my utility, made money by buying it.

This Nest works really well with the newer Google Home app. I liked the choice of color. This is called Sand although it looks a little more blush on the wall. But it is in the basement with the walls painted Sea Salt so keeping with the theme. My granddaughers like that when the walk up to it is like a small mirror. I like that at night I can set the temp from upstairs! Rebate eligible.
