Occasionally see discolored lines in video. Mounting isn't very firm when using the angled mounting bracket, but would recommend this over the competition for certain.
Hi Googlehomeuser, thanks for writing a feedback about the Nest Doorbell (battery), and we’re sorry to hear of your issues with the image quality, and with the mounting bracket.
If you’re seeing dark bands over the images, this happens when the refresh frequency of the light source is close to the exposure rate of the camera. You can restart the camera by unplugging it from its power source, wait 30 seconds, and plug the camera back in. The camera will try to detect and correct this issue, so you can choose to wait for the issue to resolve, or try the following steps: - If the light can be dimmed, set the brightness to a different level. - If possible, test a different brand and power level of light. - Adjust the camera field of view away from the light source. - Your doorbell needs good air circulation. Never install it in any kind of small box or enclosure as this can cause overheating. - Keep your doorbell out of direct sunlight to prevent overheating.
Also, to use the wedge for a better camera view, make sure to install the wedge then position the baseplate plate over the wedge with the G positioned upright and use the wedge screws to secure it in place.

This is a much better doorbell than the RING one that it replaced. Also, the flexibility and integration with other Google Home devices were a bonus. It integrated well with the nest hubs and nest hub max.

It is very glitchy and slow. I thought for the price point it would be faster and better than its competitors but I was very wrong. If you don't mind not knowing who is at your door until 30 seconds later than this is for you.
Hey there, jayr. Sorry to hear you're running into performance issues on the Nest Doorbell (Battery). You could be running into connectivity issues causing lower quality and lack of responsiveness — here’s how to fix that:
1. Restart your doorbell to refresh its connection. 2. Turn off other devices connected to your Wi-Fi. 3. Check your Wi-Fi network or router settings

The battery on this is not great when it notifies you about someone being at the door its delayed by the time you get the the app sometimes it take forever to load. Heard great things about nest and wanted to try it and this is not it . Missed the return daye already so notmim stuck with this product
Hey there, Marilesl. Sorry to hear your Nest doorbell (Battery) needs to be charged often. The battery life can be impacted by activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. To conserve battery, try the following:
1. Optimize its video quality. 2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded. 3. Take longer to begin recording between events.
Here’s a few tips to reduce any notification delay:
1. Other devices in your home may be using a lot of bandwidth. Bandwidth use can be temporarily stopped on a device by turning it off, disconnecting it from Wi-Fi or ethernet, or by quitting an app or program. 2. To reduce video delays, connect your camera directly to your Wi-Fi router. Delays may occur if your camera is connected to a Wi-Fi extender, as this adds extra relay time to any device using it. 3. Your camera’s video can also be delayed by a slow network connection.

I love this doorbell. It took a little tinkering on the settings to adjust the camera to prevent recording people just walking the sidewalk, and not coming up my driveway. Figured that out and it works like a charm
