Picture quality excellent the only struggle I find is options at times when you want to cut and paste or do you additional editing that’s where it gets to be a little complicated you just have to keep working with it. Also GoPro should give you with this camera a memory card! You need some type of pole extension or tripod it helps drastically when taking pictures at an event.

This device puts a smile on my face every time I use it. We primarily use it for my son’s motorcycle races and it helps us analyze his performance and train after the race it over. It’s amazing how the footage transforms the video experience in the GoPro app and a smartphone. Very cool experience! I wish I could use it every sport to train and practice.

Great camera for action sports filming. Works as advertised. Stitching out of selfie stick works like a charm. Windows app tends to crash. Mobile app works much better. Included lens protectors scratch easily. Purchase extra if camera will be used frequently. But will save you hundreds of dollars due to actual lense being safe.

Pleased with the Hero side of the Max, since I don't need 4K, only 1080p60. However the post work still required for 360 Videos in Windows is frustrating. I wish Gopro would support Windows like they support Apple. Hopefully they will soon release the software necessay to import the 360 files directly into my editing software, but for now it's very time consuming in post, having to first import files using Gopro export software, then Handbrake to encode the files to a usable format, then injecting the metadata for 360 so that I can edit in my Windows software… very time consuming. The mobile editing 360 software is ok, but the resulting 360 files are low quality 1080p, usually about 15 bits not the 78 bits quality advertised. It's fun playing with the framing of the 360 files but until Gopro has a suitable import software for Windows, I would hold off on a purchase unless you're using Apple.

The best and most capable GoPro released to date aside from the new Hero 9, amazing footage and very crisp for 360 degree video. 360 photos are just too cool, little snapshots in time and space :) great battery life as well for all the processing power tucked in.

I purchased this camera for documenting site conditions before a project. I know, it is not a very adventurous or cool use, but this camera really does a great job. The preliminary stitching is handled in camera, so it works very well with only a smartphone or tablet. The LCD screen is terrific and the internal menus are intuitive. Mounted to a vehicle or drone, this gets every angle in one shot, so I can avoid multiple runs and files. There are plenty of more entertaining uses I have already thought about and my friends/family are lining up for their turn to borrow the camera. I’m very happy with this purchase. As of the date of this review, my only complaint is the lack of computer app support for the 360 output. GoPro has some catching up to do with the he exporter and viewing app. It would be nice to bring the exporter and some basic editing into a single app. They also have a legacy 3rd party viewer that does the job, but requires download from a different website belonging to a now defunct company called “Kolor.” They could also stand to publish some workflows for exporting and converting the output to help users take advantage of this cool new tool/toy. As of now, some charitable folks on YouTube are the primary resources for how-to information.

Honestly I love this camera. I’ve used it for many situations and it holds up very well to any climate. I’ve used it to capture video on a fishing boat to filming clips on mountains. I am very picky when it comes to camera quality and the Max really exceeded my expectations for a 360 camera.

More than worth the $500 I paid especially if you subscribe to go pro plus and you use this camera a lot. When I got it, it didn’t support 4K or slo motion but with the update both are included now and more as well. Easy to use and edit to upload to the web. So thankful for this camera. With this camera you straight up cannot lose

Wewere looking for a new 360 camera to record building wall throughs. We have tried it out and works great. Watching the recorded option is super clear. When watching playback in 360 it is a little grainy. Need to use or some more and test out different settings. Works good for our needs.

There was quite a learning curve to use the GoPro however YouTube videos helped me to figure out how to use the touchscreen! I recently took it on a trip to the Rocky Mountains fabulous videos. I also like the 360 feature

My husband and I decided to add this bad boy to our camera lineup because we were wanting to dabble with 360 footage and this is IT!!! Amazing product would recommend getting a 3 in 1 tripod along with it. Battery comes charged only 25% so limited use out of the box but overall great product.

This camera takes great videos as well as photos. I mainly use the 360 mode which allows me to get creative in post processing using the go pro provided video editing app. The app is available on iphone or osx. I can produce some really unique videos.

I would recommend this GoPro to anyone looking to make movies for money or just refund me and my kids have a glass of this thing every single day and there’s nothing on the market like it no better camera out there that can take the rough and tumble lifestyle that we live
