Within 1 week we had to exchange the 1st 1 we bought due to battery extremely get HOT & not charging right, green light stopped coming on & always stay red & just going up to 8 miles per hour! Then got to exchange for another, got home charged it, husband woke up to take to work which is NOT far at all & now this 1 just goes up to 7miles per hr to him just getting off and walking it. This is absolutely trash and will returning for a FULL REFUND! Dont buy this brand or this scooter. Very disappointing and frustrating at the same time.

    One serious scooter

First things first, this is not your average scooter. This is built for your everyday in city commuter or large area rider. With its robust design and quality manufacturing its heavy. So if you live in a building without an elevator be ready for a workout. But with its integrated combination cable lock you may be able to secure it at a lower level. For the night time riders, the GO Trax has a headlight and tail light that are surprisingly bright as well as blue lights that run the length of the scooter body. At a top speed of 20 mph this thing is a blast. My first ride after unboxing was 2 mi. Down the road to the gas station. I was super impressed with the speed and ride quality. Yes I said ride quality, with its pneumatic tires and front shocks it soaked up every bump I hit on my 2 mi. ride. Another cool feature is the built in Cruise control, which is activated when you maintain the same speed for longer than 10sec. And can be deactivated by hitting the front or rear brake lever or the accelerator thumb button. With a 48 mile runtime this thing can take you pretty far pretty quickly. And charges to full in under 7 hrs. So you can ride to work or wherever you want and charge it over night while you sleep. Out of all the features packed into the Gotrax i only found one that annoyed me. Upon start up you have to enter a 3 digit PIN number before it will fully power up, but outside of that this thing is a blast to ride. With three different speed levels its great for any area you can ride it in.

Very good scooter! But the lack of rear suspension makes the ride a bit rough. I'd look for one with rear suspension if i were you

    Great scooter, horrific instructions

GoTrax has a new scooter, the G6 Commute. This scooter promises an impressive range of up to 48 miles and a top speed of 20mph – great for getting around town or zipping through the neighborhood. It also has a font suspension, dual brakes, and two anti-theft systems. Impressive on paper, but how is it in real life? Time to open the box and find out. In the box are the usual items – instructions (more on that in a minute), the scooter, a set of screws to attach the handlebars, a hex wrench, a small air tube extender for filling the tires with an air pump (not included), and the charging brick. Unpacking and setting up is fairly easy, with one small hiccup – the handlebars have a small plug to plug in the electronics in the display to the neck of the scooter. The plug was easy enough, but getting the wire tucked away so the handlebars could be installed on the neck was a bit of a trick. Do not force the handlebar down so the screws line up as you might pinch the wire, just keep trying to thread it down the neck until it all lines up. 4 simple screws later, and assembly is complete. Getting it out of the box is the next step – and this thing is very heavy. At 45 lbs, this is a very substantial scooter. It’s a full-size scooter with a huge capacity battery, so weight is expected, but if you need something lighter that needs to be carried at some point, this might not be the best option. Now that the quick setup is done, it was time to review the rest of the instructions to see how to operate the scooter and the security features it has. It has two layers of protection – a 3 digit passcode that is entered by using the controls on the electronic display, and a barrel style lock locks the steering. Unfortunately, trying to decipher how to use these features, as well as several others, is incredibly difficult. The instructions are almost a comically terrible bad translation. It’s like what you would expect from a cheap knockoff product, not an $800 scooter. I’m knocking off a full star on this review for how inexcusably terrible the instructions are. Seriously. Hire a translator so consumers can safely and fully operate their $800 scooter. Fortunately, bad instructions aside, the general operation of the scooter is pretty simple. Get it rolling with a simple kick, and then hit the accelerator. In the fastest mode, this thing really flies, getting up to 20mph quickly thanks to the 500 watt rear wheel motor. Stopping is also fast, with the dual brakes helping to slow it down quickly. The display shows essential functions, even an odometer to see how far you have gone. It has ambient lights down the sides and a rear tail light that flashes when braking. There is also a front light for use at night to see and be seen. The ride is very comfortable, with the font suspension and big tires taking most bumps with ease. Charging it is also easy, with a silicone flap protecting the charging port on the upper right side of the deck. Unlike some other scooters, this one is very accessible and doesn’t require reaching down under the deck to find it. Overall, this scooter is great, with a huge range and fast speed. The build quality seems excellent with everything being solid and well-constructed. The only real downside is just how terrible the instructions are. On a product of this price used for transportation, the instructions should be clear so the operator knows how to fully and safely operate the vehicle. Hopefully GoTrax will update the manual in future releases or provide updated instructions online (as of the time of this review they are still bad online too).
