The range on this scooter is really good, but like other people have said, the error code really breaks this scooter. If this scooter could take me to point A to point B without a single problem it’d be perfect, but I can’t drive a whole mile without an error code popping up and me not being able to use the scooter.

The GoTrax G6 commute Electric Scooter is a very fun and well-built scooter. The kids and I love it.
The GoTrax G6 is well built and looks sharp. This scooter seems a bit beefier than a different brand we have so I was a bit surprised at how hefty it was. The platform is nice and wide and feels very sturdy when cruising around.
The scooter takes a minimal amount of effort to assemble and shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes. I still recommend reading the instructions though.
It is very fun to ride around and you’ll get up to 5 hours on a charge. This seems to vary by who is riding it and how many hills you’re operating it on.
There are a couple nice security features as well. There is a PIN code you can set that needs to be entered after powering it on. Additionally, there is a built in anti-theft lock that you can use to tether the scooter to a bike rack. It has a combo lock on it so you can set it to any combination you like. Just make sure you read the instructions and write down or photograph the combination.
The 3 speed modes are a nice touch as well. While it’s great the scooter can get up to 20 MPH, I don’t necessarily want my 12 year old zipping around that fast through the neighborhood. It’s nice to be able to set different speed modes.
This GoTrax scooter is an excellent option if you’re looking for a scooter that you can use for fun or a daily short commute. It is high quality, lots of fun and I definitely recommend it.

DO NOT BUY

I bought the scooter from Best Buy by checking on their website. Their website said that the scooter can go up to 78 km but when I eventually got the scooter, the manual in the box said you can only drive 48 km but when I actually tested the scooter. It died after 19 km only. I was quite disappointed to see that thing $700 for a scooter is not even worth 20 km so I decided to return the scooter within a few days of getting it. I would suggest you get a better scooter from Segway rather than buying a go trax

60 days owning the scooter, it gave the error E5. The only form of contact with Gotrax Warrenty claim is email. They only reply once a day. We had to replace the motor, and then they sent a controller. The scooter doesn't give an error anymore but the scooter also doesn't move unless manually moving it.

This thing is fun! But not without some challenges.
The scooter comes 97% assembled in the box which makes it quick and easy to get it up and running; after you’ve plugged it in and waited 7 hours for it to charge.
My biggest gripe about the scooter is that the console functions are stupid. Rather than investing in a display with more buttons or software controlled buttons via touch screen, almost every feature requires you to remember to press the power button several times. Press the power button once to change gears, twice to turn on the lights, three times to switch displays, use some god awful combination of the power button throttle and break handle to type in the default startup password lock function. I swear I spent 15 minutes while the thing constantly beeped at me trying to figure out how to get the display to accept the default passcode so I could try riding the thing. Nothing takes the fun out of an electric vehicle like a poorly designed set of controls.
As to design there’s a lot to like about this scooter. The built in anti-theft locking device is great, the placement of the charger port makes it straightforward to access, the lights on both the front and back are bright and it’s a very quiet machine to operate. The attached bell is loud enough to catch peoples attention without trying to scare anyone to death and overall the ride experience is comfortable.
Be aware that the platform is 18 inches of usable space. My feet are 12 inches and I’m usually in size 13 or 14 shoes so it’s not possible for me to fit both of my feet facing straight on this platform while riding. It’s not uncomfortable to twist my forward foot to a position that allows me to balance and enjoy the ride, but I do wish the scooter was longer to accommodate my big feet.
As to speed, I’ve achieved the top speed of 20mph on a flat road and managed to get just above 20mph on a steep downhill. I weigh 205 pounds and going uphill with my weight maxes out to between 7-10 mph.

Fast Scooter with long range!

I remember as a kid when I got my first electric scooter. It was not fancy, it didn’t go very fast, and it took forever to charge. Today’s electric scooters are much different than those of the past. They still take quite a long time to charge but they have many more features and they are not slow by any means.
The GoTrax G6 is a beast of a scooter. It has some features that I have personally never seen on a scooter before which confirm its commuter roots. For example, it has a built-in cable lock that is long enough to wrap around a bike rack or pole. This is super convenient because you always have a lock especially for quick stops and you do not have to find a place to attach the lock since it is already attached. Another feature is all the lighting. It includes a headlight, tail/brake light, and even under glow.
This scooter has two other features that I could not easily figure out. I read through the owners manual but it is not very clear. The first is the passcode. Upon start-up it asks for a 3-digit passcode. However, I cannot figure out how to change the passcode. The other feature is cruise control. It says holding down the throttle for so many seconds will activate cruise control, but it does not seem to work and I am not sure I would want it to work like that.
I would like to focus on a few good things about this scooter. That is the range and speed. It has a listed range of 48 miles. I have not taken it that far yet but I have no doubt that it would go that far. It has a top speed of 20 miles per hour and to be honest that is plenty fast on a standup scooter. I even tested it on some hills and it went up them with no problem.
I believe this scooter can be good for commuting but it is quite hefty. If you have a short commute you might want to look at other offerings. If you have a longer commute, want the most range, and the top speed than this is the scooter to buy. I think this scooter is perfect for someone on a college campus or someone who works in a big city.

Great Commuter Scooter

This is my first electric scooter, so I don't have much experience to compare this to. This scooter is well packaged and requires minimal assembly to be able to ride it. I simply had to unfold and lock the upright bar/fork into place, plug in the connector for the control panel, and then insert the handlebars into the fork which is then held in place by 4 allen screws (allen wrench included). I plugged the unit in and left it to charge overnight, although the led indicator on the charger showed that it was fully charged when I check it roughly 2 hours later.
New users should be sure to read the instructions, as you cannot simply just turn this on, jump and go, and ride off into the sunset. This model includes a built-in security feature (which can be disabled, if desired) that requires the rider to enter in a 3 digit, customizable pin in order to unlock the control screen and subsequently use the scooter; the throttle is disabled until the correct code is entered. Since this doesn't prevent a would-be thief from picking up the scooter and walking off with it, the fork also has a built-in cable lock with customizable 4-digit combination for additional physical security.
This scooter provides for a comfortable ride overall. The suspension swallows up some of the bumps on the road and the acceleration isn't jerky, but still allows the unit to accelerate quickly, especially in the regular (D) mode. Sport mode provides a higher top-speed and quicker acceleration. I found the (slowest) walking mode to be almost useless, as I struggled to maintain balance on the scooter with it highly limited top speed; I'll likely never use that setting. The headlight and taillight are bright and provide good visibility and the led strips on the side shine bright enough to allow you to be seen in the dark from the side and also look really cool. All interaction with the control panel is done with a single button. While this mean that the rider doesn't have to fumble around with multiple buttons, it does mean that interactions typically require multiple presses of that button. Fortunately, the user is not likely to have to interact with the panel much outside of turning on/off the headlight. The folding handlebars is a nice feature to make this unit more compact, but the it is still a weighty unit to pick up and carry, hindering the portability of this unit.
Battery life and power seem solid for this scooter. I was easily able to ride this up hills in my neighborhood and it didn't seem to have any issues getting me from the bottom to the top, even for my 175lb stature. My son loves riding the scooter around the neighborhood and it's likely even better for him being only 62lbs. However, he has had the scooter show an E9 error code multiple times indicating that the motor was overheating. This occurred while he was on flat ground on a mild evening, so I'm not sure why the scooter was having a hard time. Both times, I was able to turn it off and back on again and he could continue riding without issue.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this scooter. The battery life seems to be very good and it's very capable of 20-22mph with ease. The dual brakes will slow you down from top speed well, although I did adjust/increase the braking force of them slightly (which can be done without tools by turning the barrels where the cable connects to the brake assembly). I'm sure that this scooter will provide many miles of fun for us.

Excellent for getting around downtown!

This is my first electric scooter I have own, but I have used them before as rentals, and the quality and ride it’s not even close! I am very new to electric scooters, and I am loving it so far. I have used this to get around downtown and brought it recently to a pretty big car show, and it made getting from one end to the other super convenient.
Here is a quick breakdown of my review based on its features and ease of use:
Unboxing Experience 5/5
I was worried that I was going to struggle in putting this together, but I was riding it within 10 minutes of opening the box. It’s already put together you just have to put 4 screws together. The brakes and throttle is all put together. Thanks for making this super easy!
Performance 5/5
Being new to electric scooters, I can’t complain about the 48 miles range. It’s more than enough for getting around downtown. Super stoke on how this will make moving around town easy especially in the city where parking can be a pain.
Ride Comfortability 5/5
The 9in tires and built-in suspension for the front and the rear wheel really help absorb any small bumps and makes the ride smooth. The brakes and throttle are responsive and add to the smooth ride. Hitting 20mph the ride stays smooth, and this I found very impressive!
Built Quality 4/5
It’s a bit on the heavy side and I worry that it has potential to be easily scratched because of the low clearance, but as far as the quality I have no complains. My only wish is for it to have a little more protection in the bottom for scratches.
Overall, I highly recommend this for anyone looking for an electric scooter with some good range and speed. I am no longer in school, but I can totally see myself using this if I was. That said, if you work in the city and want to get around without the hassle traffic, get this!

Practical and Fun!!

At first I was hesitant to get this because I didn’t think I could find a use for an electric scooter like this, but I was very wrong.
This is a fun fun ride…I’ve ridden it to church, local store & around the block and I have to admit… I’m a believer now!!
It takes on average 5 to 6 hours to charge and I’ve been able to go 30 miles on a single charge without needing to charge it and not noticing any drop in performance. I have noticed that around miles 32. It does start to slow down because it’s getting near the end of the charge, but that’s to be expected with the battery and usage. Additionally I have been able to get it up to 20 miles an hour (on a flat road) which is what is advertised for its top speed (You don’t realize how fast 20 miles an hour is until you’re riding a scooter).
It has all the bells and whistles that I like; single touch folding bod (weighs 45lbs which is very manageable), rear light, front suspension, a digital display (speed, cruise control (which is AWESOME) and you can even use a digital code to lock the scooter to discourage people from taking it because it won’t operate without the code.
One thing you need to be aware of is using it on the road. Some states require that if you use it on the road it has to have a license plate & you must wear a helmet. Some states don’t so make sure you contact your local DMV to ensure you’re in compliance with road use.
I was highly skeptical of getting one of these, but now that I have one, i’m a big believer!!!

I have never used an electric scooter before so I was not sure what to expect with this. But I found it to be extremely fun and a great way to get outside and explore. So much so that I got a second one for my wife.
When I unpacked the scooter I found it easy to assemble. The scooter seems well built and the pieces fit together well. The battery was almost fully charged when I got it, it took under an hour to top it off with the included charger.
So far I have ridden about 15 miles, mostly on 90 degree summer days. The scooter is large enough for me at 6' 2" and the deck feels easy to ride on. The brakes feel a little squeaky but stop well. The scooter has powerful acceleration even on a slight incline. My longest ride was about 6 miles and the battery still showed 5/5 but I am sure it had been run down a bit. On the 6 mile ride I had one error code when going down a short steep hill with the brakes on, I am not sure if I overheated it or what, but it was fine when I depowered and repowered the scooter. Hopefully this was just a one-off thing or expected behavior and not some sort of defect. It was a hot day and I had been riding it pretty fast for awhile.
Overall I am impressed with this and it has gotten me very interested in e-scooters in general to the point I got a second one for my wife so we can ride them together. Great way to get around the neighborhood and explore.
