This game has what everyone expects in a single-player Grand Theft Auto game and some. The map is bigger than any other map in the previous games. The characters are relatable and the storyline is easy to follow. the missions are endless and they are fun and well thought out. The game offers many activities and odd missions to do in Los Santos. New features like the ability to choose your team for a heist is epic since you decide the amount of pay that each team member receives based on their skill level. There is a ton of freedom in the game so it doesn't really feel like you are forced to follow a plain storyline. There are many options and decisions that you will have to make in the game resulting in different outcomes. The game never gets dull. Each mission becomes more interesting and there is plenty to do after the story has been completing. This game was well worth my money. I would NOT recommend this game for children. Other games are overrated but for this game should only be for those over 16.

Every aspect of GTA 5 has been refined. Gunplay is tighter, story is fantastic, and the radio personalities are amazing as usual. Playing as Trevor may be tough for the squeamish. There are a few intense scenes involving explicit themes. If you were a fan of San Andreas you will love 5, it's a triumphant return to the series' roots and polished in every aspect. Occasionally there are some framerate stutters but they rarely affect gameplay and considering the size and scale of the open world this game is beautiful. It's amazing what Rockstar was able to do on current generation hardware and GTA 5 is their swan song as they move on to the powerful next gen hardware .

Instead of focusing on a single protagonist character as in the previous GTA titles, in GTA V you can choose to play the missions from the perspective of 3 different characters. Michael, Franklin, and Trevor come from 3 very different backgrounds, and while each have their own personal agendas... you (playing the role of one of these characters) must work together with the others to successfully complete each heist. You can also switch characters at the press of a button, thereby letting you play from each one's perspective, and these characters also have their own set of skills as well as a special ability! All of this greately adds to the variety and replayability of the game. From a graphical and technical standpoint, the game is absolutely gorgeous and plays very well, with a the excepion of a couple of minor bugs or glitches here and there that can result in clumsy or awkward movement in a tight space. But other than that, you have one of the largest, varied, most interesting, and best looking gaming environments of all time. And you have the freedom to do a lot of "freeplay" causing all sorts of havoc and getting into all kinds of situations in the superbly created virtual world that is Los Santos! And multi-play also returns to the series in GTA V, giving online co-op players as well as competitors a little extra fun to be had here as well. All in all, this is undoubtedly the best GTA title to date, and it's a superb technical achievement in the video game industry as well.

GTA 5 has a great storyline and the gameplay is amazing. Being able to switch between multiple caracters is awesome, as well as being able to set up some missions and exciting them how you want. I have played every GTA that has been created and this is by far my favorite. The graphics are really nice. The only bad thing is that there is a lot of profanity, even for a GTA game.

The wait finally over and definitely worth the wait. The storyline is amazing. Lots to do. Fun side missions. This is game is DEFINITELY Rated M. A lot of mature contents and language. Have to wait for October 1st for online gameplay but I know it'll be worth the wait as well.

It's no different than any other GTA I've ever played, and though I gave GTA Vice City and GTA IV a shot (wanted nothing to do with GTA San Andres) the problem with EVERY GTA game so far is that in order to progress in the story mode you have to complete certain missions and your options become limited at that point. I reached a point in both GTA Vice City and GTA IV where the only missions available to me to continue the story mode were things I just couldn't seem to get past. I like a challenge, but I don't like it when the game designers make it IMPOSSIBLE to get past a certain part of the game...open world sandbox is cool but I enjoy a good story that includes cinematic cut scenes, so if I reach a point where open world sandbox play with no story progression is where I find myself I get really bored pretty quickly and stop playing the game. Which turns out to be a situation where I am upset at the money I spend. What I REALLY want is a story driven, mission based, multiplayer co-operative experience through the ACTUAL games campaign, if I can switch between 3 characters in single player mode and eventually a fourth character to go into the online mode why can't there be 4 playable characters in the story mode that can be controlled by 4 individual players who play together through the actual story as well as explore the open sandbox world on their own or together at their leisure? The trailers and pre-release reviews led me to believe there would be some of that even if it wasn't completely what I wanted, and that is the ONLY reason I bought the game, and two copies of it, one for me and one for my brother. Now I find it will be TWO WEEKS before online play is available and it will only be street racing and deathmatch...what a rip off!

I've been playing GTA V for a week, and the experience has been very addictive. There's a ton to do in the city itself, and I get the feeling when I play that there are many well-polished games embedded in the game itself. Any piece (driving, flying, shooting, tennis, golf) feels like they stand on their own and could've been released as individual titles, but when strung together provide an immersive experience. The story is great so far, and I find myself often going out of my way to do side-missions as to not go through the entire story too quickly. This leads down to some tremendous moments in itself. I also find myself having many laugh out loud moments, which is rare enough for tv and movies, let alone games. Extremely important, the game is clearly for mature audiences, more so than previous GTA titles, if you can believe that. Some missions and scenarios are enough to make me cringe, and I *always* put on my headphones, even when I think the kids are asleep in their room down the hall. All in all fantastic game.

This game has blown away my expectations. I didn't think GTA IV could be topped in terms of story, controls, gameplay and graphics, but Rockstar proved me wrong. I've always enjoyed free world games, and the GTA franchise has always been one of the best at it. GTA V accurately represents and spoofs Los Angeles, calling it Los Santos. There's tons of knockoff places to visit (Staples Arena, Hollywood bowl, Hollywod Sign, various CA beaches and piers, etc...) There's also tons of activities to do like sky dive, fly helicopters, play tennis, yoga, golf...the list goes on and on. The only downside is there's a ton of nudity, violence, blood, drugs, and language if you don't like that kind of stuff or having your kid play it. Overall, incredible game and I look forward to the downloadable content in the future.

Rockstar did it again with another great GTA game but this one is definately the biggest. The map for this game is HUGE. Its cool that its modeled after LA and the surrounding area. It has all the major landmarks and is very realistic. The story line is great and the characters develop well over the course of the game. The game play itself is good as well but some of the controls are cumbersome at times. Like with flying helicopters/planes. There are some buggy parts of the environment or game that you may run into but they don't detract from how great of a game this is. I definately recommend this game if you like open world games and freedom to do what you want.

Really enjoying this game. Very cool how the story meshes with the three main characters - a first for the GTA series. Graphics are amazing considering xbox360 is on it's last legs. Music on the game is awesome as usual. Best of all, the gameplay has been improved on almost every front. Driving, shooting, fighting, moving - it's all so much easier, and makes it more fun and less frustrating than previous titles. All in all, a great purchase - highly recommended to those of age (definitely not for younger gameplayers, as indicated by ESRB rating).

This game is yet another great release in a series of great releases from GTA. The graphics, free roaming capabiltites, just so much to do. Rockstar definitely did not disappoint. The one thing i dislike like is that they go way overboard with the language and controversial images. A little can go a long way and with three younger children in the house I have to limit my play to times when they are not around. That being said i don"t shelter them from all the violent, crazy, foul language or inappropriate scenes in my games, but it gets old trying to relax and play a series I love in some scheduled time when my children wont be around. So I have to damage control later so that I can enjoy my game when I want where I want. I mean lets face it, if I'm being honest, I have to say on the flip side it wouldn't be GTA without it all. Without the crude humor and real life language and situations the game would become less real world and much to bland for the series. God help my children, but don't change a thing.

This game has a great storyline, and the missions are great. There are lots of little side missions you can do, but I mainly stuck with the primary tasks. There is an awesome array of cars, and the map is huge, so you'll have plenty of time to try out the wide variety of radio stations. A nice new feature is the ability to play with multiple characters. The graphics are great too, especially for an open environment game. I could go on all day, but in short, GTA V is one of the best in the series.

GTA games always have plenty of hype with them from fans and the industry (along with negative PR from the media/legislatures etc). Gathering such attention all around and such sales from day one it seems fair to expect a lot from the game. In my opinion it certainly delivers what you would expect from a top budget, beloved series. Compared to the fourth in the series you get pulled in and connected to the characters far more. Once the main protagonist each enter the story you have the option to switch between them and makes for unique game play and is really well done. Aside from that it's the game you would expect, plenty of action, good story, tons and tons of humor thrown into the world, missions and radio. Online game play is not out yet but I look forward to it and expect the added time to it's launch is only to make the experience that much better. The only negative I would have isn't really against the game, but who might should play the game. I don't think you really have to enforce 17+ but I would not even think of letting younger children play the game. It isn't just violence as there are many heavy 'adult' overtones and even overt acts of that nature in the game.

Best GTA made thus far. Great open world. If you get bored, there are multiple characters to play to change up playstyle, etc. Graphics are best to date for a GTA game. Can virtually do whatever you want whenever you want. Once you finish the campaign, you can go online and do anything you want online with friends or strangers. They have many different game styles to play, or you can just do whatever in an Open environment. Highly recommend... one of the best games to owe... you can spend hundreds of hours!!!

Massive, sprawling open-world game. Great, relate-able characters (except for maybe one...you'll know who that is when you play) and a tight, funny, well-written and well-conceived story. Difficult in places, but never impossible. Hugely violent, extraordinarily vulgar...not for children. Sometimes the social-commentary can become a bit much, but that's okay.

Great open sandbox game. You can pretty much go anywhere on the map with no invisible walls to hold you back. Which really helps if you are OCD like me and have to uncover every single black pixel on the map ;). As of this review I am only about 48% complete but I have been having a blast. The main story line is great so far and there are tons of side missions and random events to distract you :) I also like how the skills actually make a difference in the game. Franklin starts out with a fairly low shooting skill and on one mission he needed to be a sniper clearing the way for Michael. My first attempt ended badly because Franklin couldn't keep a steady aim. I went to a shooting range and practiced to get his skill up and when I tried that mission again there was a noticeable improvement. Overall, I am quite happy with the game.
