Best Buy sent me an email when the program was ready. I retrieved the link to my Best Buy account and downloaded the program to my computer.

And you have to pay extra to file your state taxes electronically.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe + State 2020 - Mac [Digital] in March 28, 2021 in the hope of getting both Federal and State programs downloaded and ready to Prepare for my 2020 tax. First, I downloaded the Fed program and started to work on my Federal filing. When I finished with the Fed, I click on the State to download the program, it prompted me to buy the State program which it will cost me another $39.95 before I can work on my State Income Tax. I called and reported to both BestBuy and H&R Block about the situations and they tried to solve this problem by sending me a PROMOTION CODE which I can only download the Fed but not the State. And to download the State, I have to pay for another $39.95. If they can't solve the problem, they should refund me for what I paid for the program. I ended up BUYING another H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe + Sate 2020 - for both PC and Mac [Digital] Programs. And this one worked great and I finished my filing for both Federal & State in less than one hour. I also purchased the 2019 Premium Program to prepare for the 2019 and it worked great. IT WAS OVERLY COMPLICATED TO SET UP THE TAX PROGRAM. THE EXTRA STEP REQUIRED BY BEST BUY WAS ANNOYING. I WILL NOT BY ANY TAX SOFTWARE FROM BEST BUY IN THE FUTURE.

I received an email about a day later informing me that my software was ready to download. Attempting to download was unsuccessful without BB technical support (10 mins). Once downloaded, the file would not install. On the phone with Geek Squad for another 40 mins, only to have them direct me to call H&R Block, as they were unsuccessful in installing. Now on hold with H&R Block, where my "estimated wait time is only 40 mins." I'm sure this will end well. Purchased many times in past years, but always purchased the physical disk, without issue. Guess I should have done that this year.
