Price wise H&R Block Tax Software Premium: Self-Employed/Rental Property Owners is much better than Turbo Tax. I use Turbo Tax before until they did not include some features and did not even bother to notify their customers. Since then I have been using H&R Block Tax Software Premium: Self-Employed/Rental Property Owners - Mac|Windows.

We have used the HR Block tax software for several years and feel it has been very reliable. It seems like the software and questions have become more intuitive and easier to understand over the past few years, too. I would highly recommend this product if you have some complexity to your taxes but still want to tackle it yourself.

easy to use works great great value for your money

I've used this software for years now. I have to use self-employed option, and added getting married and buying a house this year. It walked me through everything so easily, and made sure I didn't miss a thing. I've never had any issues with this program and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

I've used H&R Block tax software for many years and find it easy to use. My only downside is I like to review the the printed return to verify the #s ended up at the correct place on the actual form. With this software, I have to complete the entire return and print it to pdf to see the actual tax forms, rather than the summary categories.

Good app. but when doing son's taxes it told me to print out X from mine. Isn't it 2017? can they import numbers I already entered and put them where they should be? Also, uploaded financial statements and error check was goofy asking for a date when it already marked it long term! As long as year from purchase... who cares!!?!?!

Used H&R block software for over ten years now. Im used to it so it works well. Its nice that they offer this version for the self / independently employed as our taxes can be white knuckle events. Even with being self-employed, I haven't had any mistakes on my taxes for years. Wish it was a bit cheaper for the advanced versions.

This program does a pretty good job of getting last year's taxes and going through the questions for next year. They have an issue with 529 reimbursements (college expense plans). Their form says to put in reimbursements that were not college expenses (taxable). Since all of the reimbursements that we receive were used for valid college expenses, we do not enter anything. Three years in a row we then got a letter from the IRS saying that we owed this money. All TaxCut has to do (sure seems simple to me) is to have a form where we put in the amount that we got and the amount that was used for valid college expenses. I talked with a friend who uses TurboTax, and they said that this was on their TurboTax. It is very frustrating that TaxCut does not have this feature. Since we have been using TaxCut for the last few years, we will probably continue to use it, but I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have to be thorough and check actual forms. Works well overall, but in the past couple years, I have noticed it overlooks a couple things on the form, but since I have used it for so long, I know what it skipped. Just be sure to pay attention to the final audit section and fix all the things it catches.

I've been using the H&R Block tax software for years. This year lives up to the others. Relatively easy to use, so it makes tax time a bit less of an headache. Wish it included the State tax e-filing fees, but oh well. I'll probably stick with it again next year.

I like doing my own taxes because the process helps me make better choices year over year. H & R Block is the program I started with years ago because they offer a free second look (double check) at their retail locations. My refund is already in my account!

Tax cut is a tried and true tax preparation software. I've used this for years. Annoyances are minor. Updates are uploaded easily. Summaries are nicely formatted for review. Overall recommend as I've never had a long wait once electronically filed.

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. When I saw that this product was much cheaper, I 'went for it"! I will continue to purchase the H&R block product for now on. It pulled over my tax information from last year and was just as easy to use..

I've been using TaxCut for years. Last year I tried Turbo Tax (trying to be "thrifty"), big mistake. Tax Cut is more thorough, Turbo Tax didn't ask me some of the questions I knew I needed to answer. And yes I purchased the same level of product.

Taxes aren't fun for the average person and this tax software makes it much easier to go through than the normal means via the regular tax forms. If you are doing your own personal tax returns and not a preparer of whatever type, I'd recommend H&R Block.

I am a tax preparer. I used this software about a month ago. I thought it was easy to use. I am familiar with tax software and inputting tax forms. I think if you are new to this, the software guides you through completing your taxes pretty good.
