Worst TV I've ever owned

Great display, clunky UI

The image quality is quite nice for the price and haven't had any defects or problems arise over these years. The main complaint I have is that the TV's UI becomes quite laggy and clumsy after awhile and requires a reset, but an inexpensive chromecast solved that easily.

Gorgeous picture!

I like the included apps also, especially Pluto TV. 5 stars across the board. I couldn't find anything bad to say about this TV even if I tried. It came well packaged, and was easy to set up. If you're in the market for a high end TV this is one that should be on your short list.

Great features, Ok image and sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the features this android smart tv has such as multiple HDMI, 4K, Optical sound out, google assistant and many android apps to watch TV, voice command remote control, sound equalizer with a few presets as well as a custom setting. This is not the best TV I've owned as far as image and sound is concerned. if you pair it with a nice surround sound system it's good. The image is not as crisp and bright as I expected for a 4K TV. I've played with the image presets and still do not get perfect image quality. Colors are not as vivid as in other models I have. Neither a 4K blue ray player nor the cable images look as sharp as I want. Set up was easy with the guided, onscreen instructions though pairing to my google account wasn't easy. Overall unimpressive model but good for everyday use.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently we replaced our old TV with this new Hisense 55" 4K model and the first words that come to mind to describe the difference between the old and the new is WOW! Everything about owning this TV is a joy. It arrived well packed & was extremely easy to set up & program. Took less than 30 minutes. The picture quality is second to none. Even watching my old favorites like Andy Griffin in black & white look better than ever before. You'll watch TV & notice things that prior to owning this TV you just took for granted. Check out your favorite sports, like soccer or baseball, and you'll see the game clearer than ever. If you enjoy nature or animals, check out the channel Animal Planet. You'll almost believe the animals are there in the room with you. The only negative comment I can make is that the power cord is way too short. If you sit the TV on a stand or console there's just not enough length to reach a outlet unless it is within 3 feet of the rear of the TV. So, if your in the market for a new TV, there's no way you can go wrong with this model. You, your family & friends will think you spent hundreds of dollars more for this TV than what you actually spent, but I'll never tell them differently.

The remote works fine as well. But there is a bug in the TV's software dealing with connectivity. During the initial startup of the TV, I skipped the WiFi setup because I don't have internet. I also skipped the "channel scan" (for the antenna input) because I have cable TV. I just wanted to get to selecting the input I want to use. I have no HDMI sources (including the lousy cable TV box!). I do have a fairly high-end, but older, sound system (NOT some sound bar), but it doesn't have HDMI connectivity. Therefore I am forced to use the composite or the antenna input on the new TV. The composite input should give a better display, and it is the only way I can get the (older) DVD player to the TV. When I first connected only the composite output of my sound system to the TV, a message that there was weak or no signal was displayed. I knew from the previous TV (RIP) that the output from the system worked just fine. So, I was about to call Best Buy and return the TV. Then, for the heck of it, I connected a cable from the RF output of the cable box to the antenna connection on the TV. Next I did a "channel scan" using the menus. As soon as it found a channel I stopped the scan. The only possible channel it could find was channel 3, the RF output channel from my cable box. I then used the "input" button on the remote, and immediately the cable box output was displayed. But, of course, the DVD output was not, since the composite input on the TV is the only way to get that to work. When I then used the "input" on the remote to select the composite input, everything worked - as it should have BEFORE doing a channel scan.

Expensive features - Budget Price

The picture quality is great and Android TV is is nice, but my Fire TV seems to stream a tiny bit better than the TV's apps. Overall the quality and features are awesome. I highly recommend this TV for the price since it compares to other TVs that are double and triple the price.

It is a beautiful thing, great color, plenty of brightness, even with HDR, or Dolby Vision playing on it. Dark scenes are very dark, no light bleed. I believe this TV is remarkable for it's price.

Excellent tv after adjusting the picture settings

Number one, do not go with the settings out the box. The viewing angle is awful that way. It was so bad, I almost returned it. I read a few sites and went with their suggestions. After that, the colors popped and you could still a great picture even when viewing at an angle. The other recommendation is to get a streaming device. I have an Apple TV, but choose something. Using the apps through the tv will provide a slight lag in quality. That’s not a requirement though. If your budget is under $1,000 for a tv, avoid the major brands like LG or Samsung. They won’t give as good a picture quality as this tv.
