Hisense Canvas TV 55” (2024) is a great option for those of us looking for a frame type tv. The artwork mode is so good that when I looked for a pic in my phone’s photo library using the search field prompt “painting” the 2nd upload is what came up! Type in television and the first uploaded photo came up. The magnetic frame aesthetic in teak with the included flush wall mount help complete the illusion that you’re looking at artwork instead of a TV. The screen’s matte finish goes great with the free digital artwork Hisense furnishes with the purchase of your TV. NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES unlike the Samsung Frame TVs requires for their artwork access.
The instillation went smoothly and if you have experience hanging TVs this should be no sweat for you. One thing to keep in mind is that the power cable and any subsequent cable connections like HDMI for instance will need to be recessed to maintain the flushed mount. This is important if you want the ability to toggle between flatscreen TV and a painting hanging on the wall. If the TV isn’t flush against the wall then you might as well save some money and get a normal flat screen.
I went from an 85” Samsung TV that’s about 6 years old to the Hisense Canvas 55”. Bigger isn’t always better and the 55” fits nicely over the fireplace. We live in southern Florida and won’t be using the fireplace for anything other than candles unless something crazy happens so the TV won’t be exposed to excessive heat.
All in all, I’m loving the Canvas TV! We have gotten many compliments on the TV and on the paintings while in artwork mode. The Google powered interface is easy to use and very intuitive. It also pairs easily with Amazon Echo for voice commands when you’re away from the remote control. The picture is vibrant and beautiful when I’m looking at a Van Gogh or just watching Netflix. Finally the Hisense Canvas is less expensive than the Samsung Frame and doesn’t have that bulking connector box to deal with.
PS: I bought from Best Buy, delivered, and installed the Canvas tv 100% by myself.

I have been waiting since the day this product was announced to purchase it as I have been thinking about getting Samsungs competing product, but hate the fact you have to subscribe to get more art and the fact it was pretty spendy for what you get. I have had Hisense before and am a fan so the very first day the 55 went on sale I purchased it. It was delivered a few days later and I got it on the wall. The 55 was the biggest I could fit flush against my wall and we are downsizing from a 65 so I was a little worried it would look too small. I am pleased with the size and even more please at the anti glare screen. We have huge windows behind the tv and have been fighting glare for years. As you can see in the pictures, glare is non existant, if it wasnt as cool looking as it is, the anti glare is worth it on its own. The art is stunning and the google tv is a good smart system, I havent used it yet on this tv as I just got it hung, but I have experience with it and like it. There are some drawbacks on the installation. All of the cables are routed out of the bottom of the tv, why would they design this so the cables could be visible when that defeats the purpose of it looking like art? There is a small indentation in the back of the tv deep enough for the cables to fit without pushing the tv forward, I have a recessed box for my power and HDMI cable, but I had to lift the tv so that some of that recessed part of the tv overlapped the recessed box in my wall. this cause me to have to raise the tv a bit more than I wanted. If you are planning to have the cables hidden, it is imperative you have a recessed are for power and connections or you can kiss the flush mounting good bye. Even with the recessed, trying to get the cables to sit right took me and my daughter with small hands to get behind there and route the cables. As you can see in the photos, it is perfectly flush. You can set the arework to rotate every 5, 10, 60 min etc or sit on the same one until you choose he next one. You can tell it how long to wait before going to sleep if no one is in the room, you can set do not disturb times where it will not come on if someone is detected. Its a cool product and I am glad I waited for the Hisense.

The Canvas TV Frame was primarily designed to be hung on the wall. My sole purpose was to use the TV stand. This is an awesome Canvas TV, the free art included is fantastic and all the art and other features are a plus down to having everything on the remote. The remote is another plus the lighting is a remote dream in the dark and the space on the end of the remote is perfect for gripping. The remote color is a piece of artwork. I missed having this TV and I only had it for a week. The frame is another plus included. Now the black TV stands are nice they lift the height of the TV and it looks good. So, the black stands don't look good against the teak frame my design opinion. The stands need to be different colors or platinum to complement the different frames' colors. Buuuut I had to return it I could not get past the lack of picture quality. So, I returned it for the Samsung. And by far the Hisense outperformed Samsung but not the picture clarity and quality that was my deal breaker. This was my first Hisense and I was very pleased.

I purchased this TV for my study, and it fools everyone as art. TV is matted and adding a border help. It does well as a TV and Google TV application is a winner. We were so impressed I convinced my wife to add one in the master bedroom...yes! She is incorporating it with other art. Please note it does come with wall hanging bracket and a wide frame that bring more realism as art. Overall very satisfied.

Easy installation, great picture quality, and it's thin! I like how dim the screen can become while in art mode and that it comes with a frame of of the box. The sound quality is better than expected, although I'm still using a soundbar. It's also nice to have the TV higher up the wall so that my dog can't sneeze on it.

Beautiful Tv and piece of art!! I absolutely love the look of this television on the wall. It is stunning . Tons of great features I am still learning about like playing music in art mode. I love how beautiful it looks in the frame without ruining the aesthetic of my living room. Many people think it is art until you tell them otherwise.

This TV has been what I was expecting. Great product. The software updates continue to make it a better product. No reflective so the glare that used to be on my TV is now gone. Also motion sensing so the artwork will auto-turn off if no one is in the room.

We installed the TV a few days ago. So far, I’m impressed with the matte finished. We were worried that we wouldnt like the matte finished but we realized its game changing. Our living toom is well lit from the sun, so this tv has almost no glare for the art or watching tv. The google interface is also a plus and easy to navigate.

Awesome value and features. The TV mount requires studs, but doesn't give you much play. Only improvement opportunity is if it had a white border around the paintings.

Took a while to get this in right, but I love it. It meets the goal of a great picture that can look like great art, hanging on the wall. Included art set is very nice, and even has toggle descriptions so you know what it is.
Picture is excellent, art mode is working reasonably well. Included frame is nice. Software is good. 20GB of storage is working well
Only major complaint is that it doesn't have WIFI 6. Nor ASTC 3.0, but that is complicated with license fees.
Quibbles:
* Cable routing through the channel in back makes it hard to get the TV to lie truly flat. Especially true if you want multiple cables.
* Adaptive backlight is all over the place, with the settings unclear as to what they apply to.
* A little tricky to set up auto on art; the settings are in a few different places
* The manual has mistakes
* Processor is a little slow, but fair enough for a compact design

Great art TV. Has a good picture and high refresh rate for normal viewing as well. If you are on the fence about the different art TVs, here is my opinion: the Hisense has the best art mode. It darkens automatically when you put it in art mode and looks the most like a real painting. The library of pictures is decent and unlike the Samsung frame TV you do not have to pay a subscription for it. The TCL NXTFrame was alright but to me its picture was not as good as the Hisense. The TCL was always too bright to look like an actual painting even with the brightness all the way down. Very happy with the Hisense.

Picture and art look amazing. Super impressed with the wall mount that is included. The only negative is the Google TV is super slow which means the components inside are most likely on the low end.

I wish there was an option for 4.5 stars! This TV has been everything I needed it to be and more.
While remodeling my basement, I wanted a TV with a sleek, picture-frame look to complement the two Samsung Frame TVs I already have upstairs. When I saw that Hisense had released a competitor, I was intrigued to see how it stacked up.
Installation
The installation was straightforward, but there’s one minor issue worth noting: for a TV designed to sit flush against drywall, the power cord requires an angled outlet. Even with a recessed outlet box, I had to cut a hole and adjust the power setup to make it work. A small hassle, but something to be aware of if you’re going for a truly flat-mounted look.
Performance
The colors are vibrant and HDR works well, though they’re not as vivid or perfectly tuned as my Samsung Frames. If you’re reading this, you’re probably comparing the two, and yes—Samsung wins in color accuracy. That said, unless you're a perfectionist about colors, the Hisense does a fantastic job. For anyone prioritizing the picture-frame aesthetic over ultra-precise visuals, this TV is a phenomenal choice.
Value
One huge bonus is that there’s no $5/month subscription fee for artwork like with the Samsung Frames. That alone makes this TV an excellent value for anyone who loves the picture-frame style without the ongoing cost.
Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a stylish TV that blends into your décor and offers solid performance at a fraction of the cost of its competitors, this is an outstanding option. Just go into it with the right expectations, and you’ll love it!
