Wow for all Nit nerds this is the one to beat. The 4K content with Dolby Vision has never looked this detailed. I purchased the 85 version for 2k and there is nothing that comes close. Considered the the bravia 7 but after seeing both in person it wasn't worth the price difference. There is no blooming and very close to OLED black levels without the worry of screen burning, yes its still a thing. The biggest complaint from TV Snobs is the off angle viewing I have a fairly large living room and see the tv off angle and see some minimal differences but to a non videophile there is no difference. This is my first non sony television and the only worry is durability. Only time will tell but with a two year warranty on this model I do have piece of mind. My panel was flawless when conducting tests. My only complaint is having heavy speakers on a tv on this size is pointless, most people will add better sound so its a waste space and weight. I have a bright room and the brightness might still be a little to bright for certain people but the video options are great that quickly allow you bring down the brightness during the night.

When I first purchased the 85" U8 Hisense TV and turned it on, i was really disappointed after plugging in our fire stick TV and turning on a movie on netflix. Not only was the clarity terribly grainy, but it was also slow to respond. I spent the next day wiring my ethernet directly to this Tv and utilizing the google interface and all the apps through the TV. Holy cow! This TV transformed into an absolutely gorgeous picture, and all the movies that support dolby vision and HDR automatically play in the properly! This TV looks like it is oled for HALF the cost! Do yourself a favor and purchase this TV. Just make sure you set it up properly as not having it set up results in very bland video that will make you hate the setup. Worth EVERY penny!

Great TV at a great price. Extensive video and sound options, with Dolby vision and HDR 10. I had a problem with hooking up my soundbar, but it was quickly resolved by Best Buy. Seems I had the wrong HDMI cable. I highly recommend their brand and service, the 5 year warranty is one of the best around.

Here is my thoughts based on my experience if you're thinking about getting the Hisense 85" Class U8 Series Mini-LED 4K UHD QLED Smart Google TV (2024) for your home: Visual: The images are of exceptional quality. The TV's Mini-LED and QLED technologies produce brilliant colors, deep blacks, and remarkable brightness levels. HDR content appears especially beautiful, especially when viewed in Dolby Vision. Sitting directly in front of the screen is the best way to view it, though, as I have found that wide angles reduce the quality of the images. Gaming:  I appreciate the native 144Hz refresh rate and support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) as a gamer. The overall gaming experience is improved by the Game Mode Pro feature, which lowers input lag and makes games run smoothly. It's a good addition to have a game bar that shows the FPS counter. The Best Purchase Smart Features: A variety of streaming services are accessible through the Google TV platform's user-friendly interface. Convenience is increased by voice control through Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility. But I ran into a few software bugs, like app update problems that needed to be fixed with a factory reset. Furthermore, in comparison to other brands, the built-in OS can feel a little slow, so for a more seamless experience, I chose to use an external streaming device. CustRevs Audio Quality: The TV's integrated speakers produce crisp, engrossing sound and support Dolby Atmos. The TV's audio is adequate for casual viewing, but in larger spaces, it would be better to pair it with a soundbar or external sound system. SFGATE Overall Value: The Hisense 85U8N provides outstanding value for the money when taking into account its features and performance. It offers a superior viewing experience that competes with more costly TVs, even though it might not be as refined as premium models from other brands. This model is a good option if you're searching for a large-screen TV with strong gaming capabilities and stunning visuals. Advantages: Outstanding image quality with rich blacks and vivid colors VRR and a refresh rate of 144 Hz provide fluid gaming performance. Voice control and an easy-to-use Google TV interface Reasonably priced for its feature set Cons: Wide viewing angles result in a decrease in picture quality. Resets are necessary for occasional software issues. The built-in operating system may be slow; for best results, use an external streaming device. In closing, the Hisense 85" U8 Series TV is a great option for home entertainment because it provides an unbeatable combination of features, performance, and affordability.

Went back and forth deciding between this and the TCL Qm8 and Samsung qn90d. Couldnt be happier with my decision. Such a good value for the money. Oled-like inky blacks, beautiful vibrant colors, amazing response time for gaming. My main worry, upscaling for broacast sports has proven to be a non-issue. Motion handling is incredible. I dont see any judder at all when watching fast moving images at all. My second worry, upscaling low resolution feeds are handled very well. And as for off-angle viweing, it us a non-issue compared to 5 years ago. I watch from my kitchen at 45+ degrees with hardly any noticible picture fading. Dolby vision looks incredible when streaming movies from Netflix. Save yourself the money and worry and try this tv. Get the geek squad warranty and sleep well at night knowing you’ll have an awesome tv for many years to come.

Black is black. I love watching widescreen on this because the top and bottom bars are invisible in a dark room. The color is intense, I didn’t even bother to do any calibration other than to turn off the fast motion. The backlighting is fantastic for the price point. Dolby Vision content is awesome. The interface is fast and responsive, and I love that I can search with my voice and that the remote is backlit. It also turns on like within one second (I may have set it to be that way.) I use an external sound system through HDMI ARC and then TV immediately made the sound incredible with clear vocals in my center channel and highly present front channels and powerful surround. I did nothing other than plug the cable in. My older TV was sending digital audio, but just was not like this.
