From the day it was hooked up it has not been able to turn back on without a hard reset each time. Which completely resets all settings. It will turn off with no issues but absolutely will not turn on. Best Buy customer service/support is awful!! No support at all. The reason for the low stars is the turn on issues and lack of Best Buy and Hisense support.

I spent close to two years doing research on different TVs to replace my 2017 Samsung series 9. I landed on the U8N because of specs on paper. In reality this tv performs worse than some $500 TCL I have. The back light management is atrocious. No matter what you do the picture is either blown out and overexposed or too dark and grainy. If you feed this TV high quality 4K Dolby Vision content you might be OK with it but the reality is most content we watch is low bandwidth 720 P or 1080 P and this is where this TV falls flat on its face, the upscale processing is nonexistent most of the time it didn’t know what to do with colors if I only had one of these, I would chuck it up to being a bad set, but I purchased four and all four did the same thing if this TV was only six or $700 that I could understand the shortcomings, but this is advertised as the flagship for this brand. In the end, I spent less money on a Sony and got a way better product.

Horrible TV and Geek Squad Supprot

This 2024 Hisense 85" U8 has been an absolute nightmare. There are endless bugs and image quality issues inherent to the TV's firmware. Best Buy's installation team was 7 hours past the scheduled time, and one of the techs did not show up so I had to help wall mount the TV myself, despite paying $270.62 to have Best Buy do that. Now the TV is failing after only one month of use, and is also turning itself on and off throughout the night, waking me up. This has been a known issue for Hisense for several years. I paid $432.99 for a 5 year Geek Squad protection plan, and it has taken four phone calls to even reach a human agent at a call center, who tells me that they will not send a technician out because the TV is still under a basic warranty with Hisense. Hisense support is notoriously horrible. Do not give Best Buy your business and expect anything except the worst experience imaginable.

I purchased 86 inch tv i didn’t enjoy this tv at all it stop working in know time. I tried talking with someone at hisense . Nothing happened the tv went black. I found out a lot of people have had same problems with this tv. Save your money . I got tv daily deal at bestbuy spent over thousands some dollar for this tv.I work by the hour what a lost.

It is a more powerful smart tv than the Sony Bravias that I own. unfortunately, after a couple of weeks of use it now powers on by itself in the middle of the night every night. Factory reset didn't resolve and it's past the return window.

Broken fiber optic plug

The door to the optical plug broke. Cable so loose it falls out. Techs haven’t called back in a week. We keep calling. No response.
