I did research and was torn between this and the Amazon model. Both have good reviews. After careful consideration (both were on sale) I choose this because it fit our household better than the Amazon products. It has exceeded expectations. So much so there are probable future additions in the near future.

Google Home was easy to set up and is easy to use.

I tried both Alexa and Google before I settled on the Google device. It is great. So much so that I have purchased another one for an entirely different room. I love the quick responses and all of the features, Alexa was too geared for sales on Amazon for me. If you are thinking about this,, I would say give it a try for the price.

Some think it's better than Alexa. Still deciding. The control of home or any tv function may take some practice and the tv I think may need to be fully enabled with google capacity and not just a 'smart tv'- my basic - but new- samsung is not able to be controlled - but I think most of the new sonys have it built in i think

It's good for giving time, trivia, and setting timers. I could really live without it. It will not store future appointments, but I understand it will someday. A number of the features it does have, I really have no use for. For me it is mostly something to amuse me.

I also have an Alexa Dot, and the Google Home seems much smarter, knows more answers to my questions. Only complaint is that when I am in range of my Google Home and I try to ask my phone to look something up by saying "OK Google", the Google Home does it instead, and I do not get the image or information on my phone.

Love the ease of how it works, and so easy to use.

I just got this and I’m still trying to get used to it but so far it has been fun.

Overall, in my opinion, it is an okay product for now. I'm sure as Google adds more functionality to it, the cost maybe justified better. I only use it to play music from my Google Music account. Searching and playing videoa from youtube isn't really that efficient.

I've been wanting one of this for a while and imagine my excitement when I found out it was free with the purchase of my washer & dryer. It's constantly improving the search results so it's worth the money. We have fun asking it crazy questions and useful every day questions I would type into Google on my phone.

Simply, Google Home is the best device of its category with no worthy competitors. Though some may be quick to point out Alexa as one, I would ask them if it can make phone calls to a regular phone number. The answer is clearly no; it requires another Alexa to make the call possible.

Love integration with play music and Chromecast, but it's choices of music when asked to play a type of music for a situation (like New year's music or a dinner party) has been a little hit or miss. Would also like the broadcast feature to be able to be directed to a specific speaker instead of all connected devices.

The Google Home is a promising device, but the inconsistent wake work performance and lack of extensive intuitive commands leaves a lot to be desired. The inability to change the wake-word from Okay Google or Hey Google to something more natural makes interacting with the device seem like you are stuck in some kind of tech demo. It is awkward enough that I find myself not using it when visitors are over. The custom actions I created on initial setup were eventually lost. This was a disappointment. Although the speaker has decent performance, having an audio output jack would have made the product much more useful to people who want to integrate it with a home theater setup. Instead, I have to use a CC Audio to play the music on the stereo that is literally inches away. A build in IR output would make this a much more capable "Smart Home" device as well.

I bought Google Home after reading reviews comparing this device to Amazon Echo. Decided on Google home because of the breadth of information provided by the Google search. This is a very good device and can search and answer many web based questions. I purchased this on Black Friday so the price was $99 and well worth that spend.
