I'm sure everyone's heard the one song that gets lots and lots of airplay, so much to almost make you sick of it. But seriously, the rest of the album is worth much more than that first song (can I hear an AMEN!) It's very well written, the lyrics very dark and deep. This talented artist has a way of arranging the music in that it's different but really works together brilliantly. I fell in love with this album at first listen and it stayed in my car's CD player for over two weeks with me looking forward to listening with every commute, and showing it off to every passenger. My only complaint is that it seems too short. Can't wait to hear more work by this artist. Hozier is definitely a new fave. If you want something different, you will not be disappointed.

I purchased the cd HOZIER after hearing the leading single, "Take Me to Church". Was surprised to find out I enjoy the whole cd and that the artist, A. Hozier-Byrne composed and arranged the whole album. I will certainly be ready to buy another cd from this artist.

Every song has it's own life. I really enjoyed this album. There's something about the rawness in the music and the lyrics that digs deep into the soul as you play this album. Hozier writes from a real place, even if it's not a pleasant one for everyone, and it definitely shows. One of my favorite albums at the moment.

I had actually purchased this record for my girlfriend. If you know anyone who enjoys bluesy-New Orleansy grooves this is an excellent choice for them. His voice gives the already dark and mysterious music an eerie overtone sure to send chills down your musical spine. A very calming and haunting record!

This CD is one of the best I've ever heard. I saw Hozier sing his song " Get Me to Church" on The Victoria's Secret Fashion show on tv. Hozier is every bit as good a musician as Eric Clapton . . The CD contains a wide variety and shows the range of Hozier's musical style. I simply love it..

To be honest I got this because I am absolutely haunted by the hit single "Take Me To Church". The album is done by someone who has not been in the music machine yet. The songs have actual differences to them versus a lot of the over produced music out right now. I find several songs on this album to be very catchy which is rare for me. Thumbs Up.

First time artists have it hard - they always got lots to prove in front of judges and or audiences - but in Hoziers career the sky could very well be the limit. His vocal style is graceful yet haunting , powerful with a frailty to it. Here's hoping his star keeps rising and doesn't get washed up by the Top 40 krapola of constant rotation.......

I have been following Hozier on Serius XM for, I think, a couple of years; since first hearing "Take Me to Church", and was far too long in purchasing this album. I have been extremely happy "ecstatic" ; I enjoy every cut; tremendous! Great Lyrics; absolutely LOVE it.

I had never heard of this artist before I heard one of their songs on the radio. I purchased the cd without knowing what other songs would be on there and I found it to be overall a very good cd.

"Take me to church"was the first song I'd heard, but when I listened to other songs from the CD I was compelled to own it. That way I can repeat as much of what I want to hear from my "Hozier" CD.. If you like Folk, Pop, R&B you will enjoy "HOZIER"!!!

This is the first CD I've bought in years! Great bluesy sound! I first saw Hozier on SNL a few months back and couldn't get the song "Take Me to Church" out of my head. The lyrics just blow me away. Another favorite on the CD is "Jackie and Wilson."

I am thoroughly enjoying this CD months after originally purchasing it! I previewed the songs and found that I liked most, but not all. Upon listening to the album a few times over, I have found each song is really great and his sound is just so unique that I enjoy it every time I hear another song again.

I bought this album knowing I liked a few songs already (Take Me To Church & From Eden) but I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that I liked the entire album from start to finish.

This album is easily one of the best of the year. Not a single track I didn't fall in love with. Hozier is a fantastic musician and I can't wait to see what he brings us next.

The lead singer has an amazing voice and sound. Most of the songs on the album have a very folksy/bluesy feel than I expected. The second track, Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene is very close musically to take me to church and is my second favorite song off of this CD

The album begins with the radio hit "Take me to Church" and continues with a powerful and robust track listing that is wonderful and keeps his style and sound throughout. An amazing new talent on the music scene!

Basically if you liked the Black Keys 7 or 8 years ago before their music was overly studio produced then you will like half of this cd. The songs I like I love. The ones I don't I really don't like much at all. But I think it's a good cd 4 the most part

We have two kids off to college. One last year and one this year. Bought Mac books for both. One last year and one recently. Both kids love them, Expensive but worth the extra money.

Wasn't sure how well I'd like all the music as I only was familiar with one song, but now I hear others I'm familiar with. Not ecstatic about every song, but well worth the purchase. Strong blues and gospel influences. Great singer..

I've had the song Take Me To Church stuck in my head for sometime. Heard one of their other songs & liked it. Decided to go buy the album for myself. Has a good variety of songs on it. Now I can listen to it whenever I want to.
