I really enjoy this laptop, the keyboard is very similar to my MacBook Pro which is so nice, because I alternate between the two. I use this laptop strictly for school, email, and Internet use. I love everything about Google so having a computer equipped with nothing but Google is amazing. If your searching for a laptop to get you through daily activities this is a great one for a great price. If your looking for something that has tons of storage for music, photos, etc. I wouldn't recommend this.. but hey it's all a personal opinion and truly depends what you plan to do with your laptop.

Purchased this Chromebook for the mother-in-law's birthday. She just needs a computer to check email and go on the internet. It seems to work well for those basic needs.

Needed to replace my laptop. Talking with my son, he suggested a chrome book. I do some facebook, search and review, and communicate with others. That is about it, so my sons idea took hold and I am very pleased.
I selected this HP due to the screen size. I was not found of the 10 or 11 inches.
The Chrome is light, simple to use and much quicker than my laptop. AS far as specs I cannot comment, but if you want a light weight, decent size screen, economically priced computer go for the Chrome book!

This little computer is light weight and easy to start up. The loading time is very minimal. Multi-tabs run with ease and all our documents are saved through the google drive. The battery holds longer and the charge is much better than older Chromebooks we've owned. We are very happy with this new purchase.

Fast, nice design, slim, compact, nice color, excellent quality, nice keyboard, GREAT BATTERY LIFE. But remember, it's only a Chromebook. It won't substitute a laptop. Tiny hard drive, limited apps availability. If you need something to serve the web with and you want your battery to last longer than in an iPad, but it.

The HP chrome book is lightweight, easy to take on the go and has extreme ease of use. The only difficulty I had was getting used to it being Google based such as Google docs, etc but all you have to do is right click on the mouse as enter download as Microsoft document. It is wonderful that I can shut my work or walk away and all my information is saved. The lay out is clean and resolution is great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a computer that didn't absolutely need a pc processor for. The battery life is around ridiculously long and the bottom never overheats like my old laptop. It is definitely worth more than the price it is sold for.

First and foremost, Chromebook newbies (included myself just over a month ago) should play around with several Chromebooks at Best Buy prior to investing in one. It is quite surprising for me to see that so many of the bad reviews on various sites are written by people who would have avoided disappointment by actually using Chromebooks and reading about them online prior to purchase. There is a reason that this beautiful looking computer is so cheap! The manufacturer saves money by not having a hard drive, nor having any pre-installed Windows operating system or expensive software, nor having any particularly high-level speed or storage specifications. For the most part, none of this is a negative because of the nature of external and free cloud based storage; and the lack of a need for major processing speeds due to there being no major local/internal space and memory consuming operating system and software running in the background.
For the vast majority of people, this Chromebook should never be purchased with the aim of being a primary/main computer. Note that are several versions of this laptop out there with different dates of release, colors and processors (some with Intel processors, some like this one with Nvidia Tegra processors).
Pros:
-- Beautiful Apple computer-like sleek modern appearance.
-- A superb 8 hr battery life after one month of use for me. I also play a good amount of youtube music while working or web browsing.
-- Lightweight.
-- Google Cloud storage (yes this is a benefit if you like the convenience of being able to access all your files from any computer in any location, along with the fact that if you ever lose your computer or have it stolen, no-one can get access your files assuming they do not have your gmail username and password).
-- Non-reflective screen (I really dislike reflective screens. Note that HP has just released a touchscreen version of this computer that is likely to have a reflective screen. However, touchscreen computers are overrated. I have one at home, and stopped using the touch screen a few days after buying it).
-- Blazing fast start-up, which would be almost instantaneous if I had a shorter gmail password or did not require a password for initial computer login. Prefer being safe and not trying to save that last 2 seconds :-)
-- NO MORE WINDOWS OR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE UPDATES....EVER AGAIN!! Almost makes this computer worth 5 stars....but
Cons
-- I dislike the touchpad because of the (1) lack of a right click (two finger pressing/holding works to get a right click, but is annoying to use and sometimes does not work correctly if you press for too long or short a time), and (2) because of the need for two finger scrolling rather than the usual one finger scrolling. I ended up getting the Logitech M325 wireless mouse and prefer using it to the touchpad.
-- Accessing iTunes is a pain and has to be done with a transfer of your iTunes songs to Google Play (there is a youtube video about this process). I have not tried it yet and for now am just listening to youtube music.
-- Sometimes the internet slows down a lot when you have many tabs open (sometimes I have 20 open!). Google searching made me find the solution to this problem that seems to work most of the time:
SOLUTION:
YOU NEED TO DISABLE --> "Predict network actions to improve page load performance". Unfortunately, rather than improving performance, having that setting on usually worsens it! Google has autonomous vehicles in the US now, but it has a way to go before it can "predict network actions" correctly. Makes me scared to try out their self-driving cars when they do come out.

I love this computer. It's fast, the speakers are loud, and the battery lasts all day. The only reasons it doesn't get five stars are that there are some odd omissions from the keyboard: no caps lock, no delete key (you have to use backspace only) and no F keys. Still, it's perfect for what I use it for, which is simple stuff like reading forums, social media, and YouTube. I will not go back to using Windows computers until they find a way to speed them up.

Got this for my mother. Chromebooks are fantastic for people who have minimal computing requirements, and this one fits the bill. Large screen, light, responsive keyboard.
I wish it had 4gb of ram instead of the standard 2gb, but I doubt that my mom will have more than 2-3 tabs open at a time, so it shouldn't be a problem.

This chromebook is nice because it looks and feels like a real laptop. The screen is large and the keyboard is made for people with normal sized hands, not baby hands. The only problem I've run into is having too many tabs open at once, which crashes the individual tabs in the background to give you the memory you need. All you have to do is reload the page though, so it's really not a big deal.

I bought the chromebook after getting them for my two daughters. I thought it would be great for travel and I was right. It is small and lets me access the web to do most of the things I need to do when on the road. I am still getting use to it so I have had some problems dealing with file movement. I think that is more my problem than the chromebook. I think I need my daughters to teach me what I am doing wrong. If that happens I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars. I am very pleased.

I love it. Boots up in about 10 seconds & don't have to worry about viruses, spyware, or malware. Forget about downloading Windows programs- you can't, different operating system. It does my email, web browsing, youtube....and lots of apps for Chromebook. Battery lasts about 8 hours & doesn't get hot- like my old Windows laptop did.

Bought for older relatives to bring them out of the tone age. They needed internet connection and not much more. They love it and it's simplicity and speed. I've played with it as well and it's quite easy to use. Impressed for the cost.

Nice looking chromebook with a decent sized screen. Faster than two other slightly cheaper Asus chromebooks that I have. Got on sale for a good price. Hard to beat a machine like this for price, speed and display size, even if all you want to do is surf the net.

I bought this for my son who is a college freshman and so far it's working great and light weight to carry around campus. It has worked fast and efficient with all the text books on line and powerpoints. He has been able to very quickly go from one thing to the other without hassle.

While chrome is different, it has many virtues. Great Battery life. Sharp screen resolution and lightning start up. It is a little difficult to perform basic pc type functions, like printing. Good browser, but needs to be simplified if it's going to try to compete with typical pc,
