Bought this for our 16 year old, he loves it! Able to do school work an do gaming. That was very important for speed to be happy

The best thing we have ever bought. Soph. In school, an needed something great to use for school. He was overly excited what came on this laptop! Loaded with the best!

I am a fan of HP products but I wasn't being brand particular when I was looking for a basic laptop for my son. It just worked out that this HP product had everything we were looking for at the best price. My son uses this to play games, watch YouTube, and do homework. He also has a very expensive desktop that is specifically for gaming. This being said he is still on the laptop most of the time because it does the job just fine and is portable. When comparing memory and features on BestBuy this was a top deal.

It's a great laptop, storage wise I'm set. Very easy to use, very easy to figure out. To be honest I prefer it over my other (Mac). Not over priced. The only reason I gave four stars and not five is because the keys are a little difficult sometimes.

Display is clear and sharp. The mouse pad seems a little sluggish at times. I like the 3 USB ports and the DVD drive and the large disk capacity (750GB). The I3 CPU means good performance. It starts up quickly. I don't use the Windows 8.1 special features much but I can set it up so it looks like my windows 7 machines. The Keyboard keys are a little stiff as are the mouse pad buttons. I bought it for going on vacations to maintain contact with everything. The tablets just aren't good enough. Too many things don't work quite right on them.

Overall very satisfied with the purchase. I use it for school. Speed is great. Sometimes the battery does not hold for too long, but most of the time it does i don't know why. And the mousepad sometimes get filmsy. Other than that, would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a good computer on a budget.

My Sony Vaio died and I needed a quick replacement that wouldn't break the bank and provide a whole lot of extras that I would never use. For the price this has the space, speed and capabilities that I needed on a students budget plus more. It was easy to use, setup and navigate.

I like the laptop as a whole but I am not liking Windows 8. The computer works as well as any other that I have had. I don't fing it ant better than my Gateway when going to the sites that I use most often. I still have the same slow periods. I had updates the other ay and because of Windows 8 it took 2 days to finish installation. The price was the best thing about it.

Purchased this for my daughter for her first year of collage. So far she likes the speed and says it is easy to manage the file system. Plenty of HDD and RAM for the price

It iis a good laptop. I bought it for $399. It is good for browsing. Good for student. No high end features but very light weight. I did not like the WIndows 8.1.

Pretty good computer for students. Windows 8.1 was a little tricky at first but just like anything new I caught on pretty quick and I like it even better. my new HP is perfect for me cuz I'm on the go its got speed it's got space and it's lightweight.

I do really like the laptop but am struggling with the Windows 8.1, it is way too controlling, like big brother is watching. I haven't taken the time yet but plan on deleting a lot of the applications that came pre-loaded on the laptop. It has been running my Quickbooks just fine, I wanted something faster( upgraded from a 3 year old Toshiba) and the Intel I3 does the trick for my bookkeeping, excel and word processing that I use for our business. I do not do any video games so cannot comment on how they would run on this laptop.

The laptop has all I require as a student. While I wish the battery life lasted longer than 4 1/2 hours, the rest of the laptop is providing all my needs especially at the cost.

So far this laptop has met my expectations. Ease of use, very lightweight. Fast processor and plenty of storage. The battery seems to run down rather quickly. Adjusted screen brightness which helped some. There is no VGA or DVI connection if you wish to use a larger monitor. Would need to get an adapter to use with HDMI connection. Overall, nice product for the price.

I was looking for a computer which allowed me to surf the net, watch videos and tv online, check email etc - basic computer stuff - and this computer does it. It is light weight, starts up super fast and is easy to use. Windows 8 - not a huge fan - but not a problem. The only negative thing and reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that it seems to not connect too quickly to the wifi, which is a pain in the butt. If it goes to sleep, sometimes I have to restart it in order to get it to find the wifi connection or wait 5 or 10 minutes for it to find the wifi connection. Then again, it is only 5-10 minutes and not the end of the world. I can wait. Not sure if this is my wifi (which it very well could be) or my computer. Need to test it out. Otherwise, highly recommend.

This inexpensive lightweight laptop is perfect for my occasional use. I use it for storage and email and it works fine for that. May be a little slow for heavy excel etc .

For an inexpensive laptop, this one does all that I need. It is a bit challenging learning Windows 8. Other than that, I/m very pleased.

Purchased this laptop to do some specific tasks at my job and I am very pleased with it. It is fast enough for what I need which is basically web browsing and simple worksheets. The only con I've found so far is the mouse pad may be too sensitive for my taste and even I have made all the possible adjustments, sometimes it feels you are pinching in or out when you are simply sliding your finger over it to move the cursor. Connecting an USB mouse solved my issue. Other than that, I recommend this product for general use and think may not work well for gaming.

Has been good, have had it a month. The battery life seems strange. A few minutes ago I looked at the battery status, and it said 42% and 52 minutes. It should last longer than that. I don't keep it plugged in all the time, I usually wait until I'm down to 15%. I think it's just a laptop battery thing, because this has also happened on my other two previous ones. A good estimate will be half of the time they say it should last, whichever brand you're talking about. Other than that, Windows 8.1 takes some getting used to, but overall a good choice.

This is a good basic laptop. It is easy to use and lightweight.
