This is why I hate doing these online reviews. It's sometimes hard to reach the 50 character minimum. But, I did.

Wouldn't connect to the internet, hit restart and it sat there spinning. Powered down, will not power back up

Laptop took over 3 minutes to turn on. Mouse pad couldn't sense finger. Horrible. Returned after only 3 uses.

This was a GEEK cerified open box purchase. barely a month and it is sent off for repair.

Despite its low price ($429 at time of purchase. (Yes that is low for me for a good laptop)) the specs on this thing are of a much higher value. This is replacing a $600 Lenovo laptop I had for just three months. This HP blows it out of the water. I was a bit worried that it being less I was going to get an even worse product, but the reviews made me pull the trigger. I'm so glad I did. Excellent quality, features, speed, and everything else I can think of. I have no complaints at all. The screen is super clear, keyboard is very easy to type on, sounds is great, speed is fantastic. I can go on for a long time promoting this, but the bottom line is if you're in need for a great laptop this is it. Even the 620 graphics can handle some pretty good games. I love it.

Discrimination says most common wifi protocols. I guess ac not common.

I had to go and exchange it for a new computer. It didnt work.

Got this laptop as an upgrade and boy was i impressed.. the display is awesome, very rich in color! The keyboard it pretty good, it helps having the extra set of numbers off to the side. The overall texture quality both inside and outside were pretty well done, trackpad is a rough texture but it can be smoothed over time>/. The outside texture is not really my favorite, but its still nice. Build quality seems good, not much flex when i press around the hp logo on top - generally sturdy. DVD drive is nice (WILL NOT PLAY BLU-RAYS). Processor speed is good, its not the fastest thing.. but it gets the job done and thats all i need! Having the ample storage space is a lifesaver too. People have said that this laptop is either not a gaming laptop by any means, or that you could do light gaming. I fiddled around with how good this laptop is and was pleasantly surprised! (I only play league of legends) on medium-high settings i was getting a solid 60 fps with little to no deviations +/-3 fps. Just for kicks, i tried the max settings to see how it ran... it also stayed around 60 fps as well, with more deviations of course +/-10. These settings are completely acceptable to me, it met and exceeded my expectations which is why i give this laptop a glowing five star review because of the price and performance! I would recommend this laptop for anyone looking for a solid computer for casual gaming or people with lots of work to do :)

This is a decent laptop for the price range. However, please remember with a 17.3 inch screen comes weight! It is very heavy and uncomfortable to use on your lap. Additionally, the speakers are on the bottom of the machine so if you are using it on your lap the sound becomes muffled. If you are going to use this computer on a desk or hard surface it is worth it. If you like to use your computer on the couch or in bed, reconsider.

I read reviews for days on Best Buy and Amazon before purchasing this computer. Not only is it the best, it is also the most economical and practical. I also recommend the Geek Squad set up and service and have not had any problems (other than getting used to Windows 10 after liking Windows 7). I especially like the size of the screen, the keyboard, the (black) color and the ease of using it for whatever I want, particularly emails and internet and saving photos and documents. BTW, I was interested in a Lenovo since I had a good one previously, but this is an upgrade in function and capacity. I am still not sure that I want to keep all of the HP helps and programs, but I will give them a chance. BestBuy is the best place to buy and provides excellent service!

Great laptop for the price! It is a solid, all-around performer across all aspects of computer use (streaming/editing video, creating/editing pics, playing pretty much all games at a solid, acceptable performance level). It is excellent at multitasking demanding programs. Most people will not need anything more than this laptop for the multipurpose of browsing, streaming video/editing video, creating/editing pics and gaming.

I was excited to get this laptop, especially because I caught it on sale. I was impressed with the weight of it considering the size of it. The screen leaves a lot to be desired, you have to look at it almost at an angle to see it clearly. The cd/DVD drive is pretty flimsy. The trackpad is awful, not super responsive. Battery life is mediocre. The keyboard layout is nice, and gives you smooth transaction to each keys. It has windows 10, which I've not used before so that is pretty confusing. Awesome wifi pick up. The startup time on it is very slow, and I honestly feel my Asus from 2009 runs faster. Not very impressed with the processor speed. I'm returning this laptop tomorrow because I don't feel that it's worth what I spent, even though I got it on sale.

Picked this up last week mainly as secondary computer that the kids and wife could use to browse and play games. I'm not sure for all games but can play World of Warcraft , on recommended settings, around 30 fps in heavily populated areas and raids and I've easily seen over 70fps while questing. Seems very quick and responsive while browsing site. Overall very good for the price and would buy again.

I purchased two different notebooks, an Acer Aspire and Asus both of which I returned to Amazon for display issues. This laptop has a beautiful display. I do prefer the glossy over the matte. The depth of color can't be beat. As for performance, I believe it's more than fast enough to do what I need or want. I trust HP products too. And you have the Geek Squad right there for you as well. Great stuff!

I can't believe how good this computer is, very fast on sites, like turning the page on a book it loads so fast, the keyboard is so nice to type on, I only ever had $200-$300 refurbished computers before, I had no idea there would be so much difference, I spent a little more and it's very well worth it, in a way you get what you pay for. I don't play games so I don't know about that but for most anything else I cant believe anyone wouldn't like this.

The laptop is very fast, the black plastic does not seem to be very sturdy, but that only time will tell! I did not have a good experience with this product, to start Bestbuy sold me a product already open, he had fingerprints everywhere and some scratches, tomorrow I will change this laptop.

This is the best lower priced laptop I've ever bought. Most lower priced computer are sluggish doing simple tasks but this one is not sluggish.

I play games and facebook on it, and it does it well. It is slow to start, and load programs, and do virus scans and cleaner programs. But overall, its worth it for the price. I like the big screen.

This is a great computer, it's fast, big screen, does everything I need. The bad thing is the resolution, 1600x900 is just not good.
