New Product Warranty

I purchased this NEW laptop from Best Buy assuming it came with a HP manufacturer’s warranty. However, that turned out to not be true. If I had bought the computer directly from Best Buy, it would have included the HP manufacturer's warranty. Because a reseller sold the product, the purchase was subject to that reseller's individual terms and conditions. Best Buy's website displays all their products clearly so shoppers can easily compare them, but details about support terms are not apparent. Certain resellers offer warranties provided by the manufacturer. Not all do. For new product purchases this is very misleading to customers regarding items as traditional and important as new product warranties on products from the major computer suppliers like HP and Dell.
