Like the keyboard and looks of it. It is hard to open. I'm also not a big fan of Windows 8 but that is what it came with. Also struggling with the touch pad area that allows you to move the cursor. Not very intuitive.

Computer is very fast and easy to use. Screen takes a little getting use to being more elongated then my desktop. The touch screen works well and is a definite plus. Windows 8XX works, I'm hoping for a more intuitive interface with the release of windows 10.

As a mobile DJ, i must say the is by far the best laptop i have ever used. I have no issues with multitasking, and absolutely no lagging. I have a huge database of music, and when I search for a song, it is there immediately. And the lighted keyboard is must have. How did I get by all these years without it?

It's a bit early to really tell. I have only about 7 hours use with this machine, but I love the touch screen key board combination. The touch pad is very position sensitive. Frustrating, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. All in all, a nice experience.

I am a DJ/Music Producer and was in the market of getting a new laptop but needed a mean workhorse that can handle the high deman of having many applications running at high CPU and all USB ports used up! This Laptop was the winner and I still stand by it because it has not let me down nor has it ever lost power and shutoff on me from overload. This little thing is a beast and making tracks everyday demands for high amount of memory being used which this laptop had me covered with plenty of it about 900gb to be exact! So I say 5 stars because it's a great workhorse and I believe i got well over my money's worth. Hope this helped :)

This is actually the second HP Envy (for another daughter) we have purchased, the first one was last year in July. We are pleased with the laptop and love the versatility of converting it to a tablet. Touchscreen is great although sometimes I forget it is a touchscreen!

Very good computer. The 2 in 1 feature is great, Core i7, 12 GB RAM, etc. The only downside is that battery will not last even close to 6 hours and 15 minutes. Maximum battery life since I bought it was 4 hours.

This ENVY 2-in-1 touch-screen laptop handles each feature well. It works as a laptop and suffices as a (very large) tablet. It's nice to have the option of either using the keyboard/mouse or touch-screen.

Intel Core i7 dual core processer and 12 gb of ram. Perfect for me. Touchscreen and 1080p display perfect for my Wife and Grand Children. The only negatives are the wireless is not AC and too much Silver. Great machine for home and Family use.

I am not computer savvy. I've never used a laptop, let alone Windows 8. I can happily say I am doing quite well. I am happy with my decision on the purchase. It does everything I request. It's easy!

    Screen not up to par

I bought this laptop on sale, so was excited to get so much computing power at such a good price. I had it for 2 weeks and then exchanged it for an ASUS Q551. Positives: The keyboard was very well designed and a pleasure to use. The use of the Function keys to control sound, brightness, keyboard lighting, etc., was excellent. The form factor of the whole laptop was very nice - sleek, polished, not too heavy, etc. Battery power was quite good (my old laptop can barely hold an hour's charge, so my standards are probably low) - I was getting anywhere from 4-5.5 hours on one charge. Negatives As others have noted, the screen quality is really sub-par for a laptop at this price point. It was washed out, "grainy" and yes, you could see some faint cross-hatching when you looked at a white web page. I thought maybe I could live with it, but why should I at this price? I used both the Windows and HP settings to try and adjust the resolution and saturation. I will say that using the settings to calibrate the screen did make an improvement in color saturation. But nothing helped the "grainyness." Learning Windows 8 is enough of a learning curve - the HP didn't make it easier with funny quirks. Why did some web pages render with larger fonts than others? Why did I need to consistently adjust the size? Was it me? Was it Windows? Not sure. The HP came preloaded with lots of software, apps, links, tiles, etc. What do they all do? I have no interest in opening all of them and trying to figure it all out. Too many options, no explanations. To their credit, this is hardly an HP problem - most computers/laptops come with lots of stuff preloaded, with no way of knowing what everything does. I also had a consistent problem with the keyboard and touch pad becoming disabled when the lid was closed. Luckily I use a mouse, so I could click to access the onscreen keyboard to enter my password and get into the computer. A restart got the keys working again, but I had to shut down all files and windows to get that to happen. Frustrating and a waste of time. Best Buy made my exchange smooth and painless. I picked up an ASUS and am much happier with the screen, etc.Luckily it was also on sale the day I went to make the trade.

I purchased this laptop for school classes, but started using it foe gaming as well. It works well for both. I like having the touch screen for doing my homework. It was easy to set up and I was ready to go in no time.

I did a LOT of research before upgrading my 4-year-old HP. I got exactly what I was expecting and a little more. I have yet to stress the processing power on this machine. PROS (in addition to obvious specs) 1. Great resolution. Setting object size to small lets me put two full sized app windows side by side and has the added bonus of keeping my wife off of the machine. 2. Lots of ports CONS: 1. Ports on right side interfere with mousing when working in tight space such as a lap desk (if you are right handed). 2. Stylus. I'd have loved this machine if I could do precise handwriting annotation with a stylus but the capacitive touch screen just doesn't support this. I just don't have a need to use this in tablet mode.

I don't know if it is me or this new computer but I have to leave the new computer for my old one nearly every time I want to go online. I REALLY hate the Windows 8 program. It is VERY TIME CONSUMING to just remove a window page. There is no little x in the right upper corner to click on. NOTHING is simply done with that program. Half the time the touch screen won't work. I touch, poke, tap repeatedly and NOTHING HAPPENS! I AM VERY DISSATISFIED and would not recommend this computer to anyone.
