Customers are positive about the ENVY Desktop's performance, ease of use, and ample storage, frequently praising its speed and the inclusion of both an SSD and a hard drive. Many appreciate the value for the price and the quiet operation. However, some customers expressed difficulty adapting to Windows 10, and a few found the desktop's size to be somewhat large. The sleek design was also a point of positive feedback from some users.

I was well overdue for a replacement Desktop. I searched three local places and decided on the HP Envy I5..I've had it for almost a month. It took a bit to learn Windows 10 but now I love it. I'm very happy with my purchase and the financing of 0% for 18 months through Best Buy/Citi. It looks good with my HP 27" monitor I've had for about a year.

After my pc was infected with a virus that could not be restored. I needed to replace my pc. I'm a HP consumer which my infected pc was a HP Provill. My printer is also is HP printer. I'm very happy and my family is very much satisfied with the support and the pc. I was able to transfer all of my pc file and pictures and documents and with the support of the geek team I was up and running with my new pc not to mention that it came with Windows 10 which we adjust to.

Excellent computer for my needs. My husband has MS and it is difficult for him to learn new things. As a result I purchased another HP which is faster but still allows him to get on it and read his emails and do the searching he likes to do under Win 10. We had Win 7 and no problem with the upgrade. I love it and find it very user friendly.

I expect to follow this up with a full review, but I can't use the product yet! I got the computer home and un-boxed it and found that it could not connect with either of the monitors that I have at home! It won't accommodate VGA or DVI; only HDMI. So unless you already have the right cables or a converter at home, be sure to buy a cable that will attach from your monitor to the HDMI on the back of this PC!

The computer seems flimsy. And it is very unhandy. I take responsibility for not looking close enough at it.
To plug in the usb's I have to reach over the top and turn the plug in's in backwards. I cannot see the places where they'd be plugged in. The pc points those plug in areas backwards on top of the pc. I can't imagine how that would work for anybody unless you sit with the back of the computer toward you instead of the front.
Second, I opened the front door to put a dvd in and the door felt like it would fall off easily. The dvd holder pops out and it also feels very flimsy as if it'd break off easily. I guess the one descriptor I'd use is cheap. And you might say that it was cheap, but it's not necessary for any product to deliberately design a product cheaply regardless of the cost.

Problems and HP is trying to blame my monitor, today there was some type of bios problem, I took a picture of it and will be emailing it to them in the morning, when I call them again. So it's not a Monitor problem. The computer started clicking when I would turn it on, it didn't do that at first, now it does. Buy a Dell, I should of. I never had problems with my dell computers.

Super FAST! No lagging, no noise & no heat. Great value and performance for the price, and very easy to set up.
It has an SSD drive & a regular hard drive. Everything I've installed on it worked immediately. Love that it has a lot of ports, and two video outputs (both HDMI) for dual monitor setup. The fan is quiet.
This desktop was recommended to me by our IT guy at work, and so far I'm very happy with it!

I've only had it for about a month now but so far, so good. I use a 32" HD tv as my monitor and also another tv as an additional monitor..it runs both just fine and is very fast start up and also very quiet. I haven't had any trouble with the mouse and keyboard as I read some bad reviews on them but I'm not a gamer. My grandson loves to play Minecraft and keyboard and mouse work fine for him. I really like the SSD and I think it's worth the extra money. I would definitely recommend.

Old PC died, was thinking of getting an all-in-one instead of another tower, but this one caught my eye. It's very sleek and the Solid State Drive really sold me. IT'S SO FAST! No lagging, little to zero noise, no heat. Great value and performance for the price! It's a breeze to set up. If the all-in-ones weren't so expensive and they all came with Solid State Drives, I'd say goodbye to towers forever, as they take up so much space and all of those cords are a pain, but this PC is worth it. The ONE downside? The keyboard that comes with it is TERRIBLE as other reviewers have said. The SPACEBAR doesn't work have the time, I have to press down hard on it 3 or4 times, the keys are in different places than I'm used to and it's just way too small and cheap feeling. I'd recommend buying a Logitech wireless keyboard and use that instead.

This desktop is quiet, fast, and has tons of storage. Need to make sure you set the storage locations when you first get it if you don't want all your apps to be loaded on the SSD.

I have always relied on HP for good machines and this one is no exception. It's fast, and the solid state drive boots Windows in 7 to 8 seconds (exceptional). The memory is sufficient for running just about anything and the terabyte drive gives one plenty of room for storage. And the 630 graphics works well for gaming - not the top of the line for gaming - but it works well. Latest wifi and 3.0 USB ports. If you're looking for a good machine at a decent price, this is it.

This computer has enough power for the average home, school, or small office user. The SSD is a great addition. I can boot a clean Window's 10 and be on the internet in less than 20 seconds. You will not be disappointed with this PC......unless you have a vga or dvi monitor. This one only has HDMI output. Not a big deal, but you might need a converter.

We purchased HP - ENVY Desktop to replace our 7-years old Dell desktop. There were no problems ordering, receiving, unpacking and setting up the new HP desktop. The initial setup took a fair amount of time - several hours - due to Windows 10 massive upgrade, which went smoothly. The only minor concern is that Systems Properties after the upgrade still show Windows 10 version 16xx, instead of 17xx. This is not a significant concern, because all the advertised Upgrade features are installed and functioning.
The new desktop is really fast - SSD drive is a real blessing. Everything else is also good - graphics are fast, network (both wired and wireless) are more than sufficient (and we just installed the latest/greatest cable modem and wireless router), CPU is excellent, memory is fast (I ran a few tests) and 12G of it is far more that we would need. the desktop has plenty of USB 3 and USB 2 ports, but (unfortunately) only one USB Type-C port. We will have to purchase a replicator.
I am fairly pleased with the HP documentation that can be viewed online and is also installed on the desktop; would like to have a better and more detailed "Quick Start" printed manual to be packaged with he box.
Overall, this is a fairly strong machine for home use. I don't think it is suitable for extreme gaming, but for everything else (internet, online shopping, word processing, e-mail and social networks, etc.) this should be more than enough of computing power combined with plentiful disk storage.
I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good home/home office desktop.

Online I searched for this particular computer but the reviews kept popping up complaints about it not having the SSD disk or CDROM. I also wanted USB ports on top for backup disks. There were no photos or drawings online showing where the USB ports were located. I stumbled onto this model at Best Buy and was able to verify that this model had everything I wanted. The SSD disk is only about 120 Gbytes so you should remap the big stuff like Videos, Pictures, Music and Data to the D drive which is a 1 Terabyte hard drive. This machine boots up quickly from the SSD.

Attempted to load Win 10 update a half dozen times and each time the PC would not restart hence I had to reset. Currently the machine runs very well and is quite fast. since I elect not to update Win 10.
On the plus side, this machine boots in just seconds and runs well but I will avoid any Win 10 update until I know it will be a safe one!!!!
I recommend this PC to experienced users that can deal with the potential issues with Win 10. Best Buy price was very competitive.

I have been very happy with this PC. So much faster than my older HP model. I've been using this PC for about a month now. Had no problems setting it up or connecting to my existing printer, speakers or modem/router. The only issue I had was that it was not compatible with my very old CRT style monitor. The monitor was still working fine, but I guess it was time to upgrade to a flat screen :-) As you can probably tell, I'm not one to upgrade just for the new bells and whistles. I want to keep this PC for a long time, and I'm hoping the Solid State drive will enable me to do this.
