I guess sometimes there are just particular devices that simply don't work. In the past 6 months, I've had to contact support every time I wanted to print (only 3-4 times, because of the hassle). Each call has lasted at least an hour, often with support people who didn't seem to be familiar with the printer. One of them told me I had to replace an ink cartridge even though it wasn't empty. The final call lasted more than 2 hours before the support person gave up and said he would send a replacement printer. The replacement works ok. But because it's refurbished, my warranty doesn't start over -- this, in spite of the fact that the printer I bought never worked properly and wasn't functioning most of the time I owned it. Also, the app's primary functions seem to be to tell me that I'm not in HP's InstaInk program, and that I should check the printer because there's a problem. Zero troubleshooting. One other note: The support person said that to show good will, he would send extra large ink cartridges (1 color, 1 B/W). Instead, I received sample sizes and was required to return the larger cartridges I got from a trial for the InstaInk program. I recommend against buying this model. Also, because of my experience with the printer and with HP support for it, I will do all I can to never buy another HP product.

Sometimes it won't connect to my device and needs to be restarted several times. Other times it connnects, but doesn't print. Overall I would say that I am disapointed that an at-home printer used to print mostly black and white simple items can work so poorly in 2021.
