Customers enjoy the ENVY Pro 6455's high-quality prints and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and straightforward setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. Positive feedback also centered around the printer's quiet operation and reasonable price.

Setup and connectivity issues - returned to store

Worst experience ever (over last 30 years) in setting up printer. Spent hours on phone with HP tech - never could get it to print - apparently connectivity issues, printer cartridge issues, etc. Spent an entire day trying to get it setup and working - HP techs gave up and said return it to Best Buy which I did.

I wouldn't recommend this printer at all. I followed the simple 3 step installation instructions and could never get the printer to connect to Wi-Fi via the phone app. I waited around 10 minutes with it telling me setup was in progress and finally gave up. I then connected it via USB, which it responded to immediately, entered the network settings and got it to connect. I had no complaints about the print quality. The scanner is a different story. I tried a 300 dpi scan and while a bit slow, no problems. I then tried it on 1200 dpi and it took approx 9 minutes to complete the scan. The software is clunky and slow to respond and the printer itself has no hardware controls. Bottom line, this is a piece of junk compared to what HP usually produces

      Hi, Dave.

Thanks for the review and the description of your experience. While I’m glad you like the print quality, I’m sorry to hear that the printer did not connect wirelessly, and also that it took so long to scan at the higher resolution. It's unfortunate that you had to spend so much time waiting for the scan. That said, let’s see if we can make some adjustments to improve the efficiency of this feature going forward.

While scan speeds vary based on the complexity of a document, waiting that long for a scan to complete shouldn’t be happening. I recommend you try updating your printer's firmware, as this can often help improve the speed. Learn how to do that here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02919168

I also suggest that you visit a page on our support site that has various diagnostic tools, including a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common scanning as well as printing issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If any problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

It's your basic printer, I like to think I'm pretty techy at 24 years old, and sometimes this printer baffles me. It's definitley not user friendly in my opinion. It's not a touchscreen like I would think, it's not a screen at all. HP also sucks the ink like crazy. Will probably be my last HP printer.

Great concerns about purchasing any HP product

I had great concerns about purchasing any HP product due to their history of not being upgradeable, using old technology, poor software for configuration and use (not intuitive) and not having their own factories making their product. Associate insisted HP was good because other associates owned them.

Awful printer. Honestly I love the look of it and setting it up should have been easy. It started with the paper jam notifications (there wasn't a paper jam). Then the printer would lose connectivity super easily. To reconnect it was absolutely annoying and a problem. I finally got it to work and it's the same problem. Connectivity issues, but to reset it or fix it it's so confusing and complicated. Printer connects with one device but not another. I am so thankful I have protection on this device because I am going to have to use it.

I updated my router and it was very difficult to get the HP-ENVY Pro 6455 connected to WiFi again. I had to finally resort to Geek Squad. They could not even do it as even when they got it connected to WiFi, after multiple attempts, the HP app was stating I wasn't using correct ink cartridges, but my HP account status shows that I am using HP ink that HP sent to me! Since the printer had to be reset, it is most likely expecting the set-up ink... but why would I have kept the ink that came with the printer? All I did was change out my router.... I will be tossing this printer and getting another one, and not HP. The HP chat help session was worthless..
