Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the ENVY Pro 6455's high-quality prints and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and straightforward setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. Positive feedback also centered around the printer's quiet operation and reasonable price.

A disappointment. Constantly goes offline and will not print. This is a brand new printer! It takes forever to get it back online then once you're finished printing, it goes offline again. A waste of my money. Currently looking for a different brand.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has performed so poorly regarding connectivity. Considering the device has gone offline so often and you’ve needed to do such extensive troubleshooting to bring it back, it’s no surprise that you’re exasperated. I want to help you remedy this problem, so I’ll direct you to some resources I believe will help.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity and printer-offline difficulties. You can find that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If the problem persists, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that you’ve received unsettling information about enrollment in our Instant Ink program with your printer. I want to help you understand what’s possible so you can get the most from the device and ink replenishment. I hope you’ll use the resources below to make that happen.

First, your printer comes with the option of six months free enrollment in Instant Ink if you accept the HP+ offer and create an account. In Instant Ink, you choose a plan based on the number of pages you would like to print monthly, and you are billed on a monthly interval after the six-month period. Replacement cartridges are shipped as needed based on usage. Instant Ink cartridges contain more ink than cartridges you could buy at a retailer, so they last longer.

That said, I’ll also point out that HP+ and Instant Ink are optional when setting up the printer. If you were not given the choice to opt out, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess and resolve the situation. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

Very difficult to set up - product came with NO printed instructions; using set-up wizard confusing. Product is IMPOSSIBLE to use, e.g. to scan, as there are no buttons or touch screen. NO instructions available for download that I can find, HP Smart app asks me to register when I already have. Can only use it to print, and print quality is good.

      Hi, Billy.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer was difficult to set up and that you’ve had trouble using it since then. I can easily understand the frustration you express based on the lack of instructions, difficulty with the app and inability to scan. With that in mind, I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help you get the most from the device from here forward.

First, I recommend that you follow a guide to installing and using the HP Smart App, especially the FAQ portion, which covers common questions as well as difficulties users have encountered. Choose the link to whichever document matches your operating system:
      - Windows 10: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04675142
      - Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06188214
      - Android and iOS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03561640

Next, to learn more about your printer and all its features, or for help solving problems, you can access user manuals, troubleshooting guides, how-to documents and software updates here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-pro-6400-all-in-one-printer-series/29256678/model/29256679

You can also visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various tasks and issues, including cartridge installation and connectivity. There you’ll also find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has rendered prints slowly and that its document feeder has malfunctioned. Your review is brief, but it’s clear why this would be a frustrating start to ownership. I want to help you remedy these problems, so I’ll point you toward some resources I hope will help.

First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; choose whichever of the following two links matches your operating system:
      - Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409
      - Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898

Also, often just updating the firmware can help improve print speed. You can find out how to do that here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02919168

Next, I suggest you follow the steps in this guide to document feeders that pull through too many pages at once or fail to pick up paper at all:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01728503

If any problem persists, I suggest you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
      - hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
