However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. Positive feedback also centered around the printer's quiet operation and reasonable price.

Hard to set up. Arrived without ink or set up instructions. Purchased ink & still can set up because it needs the “set up” ink. HP customer service is terrible. Had for 3 weeks now & still can’t use it!

      Hi, Nina.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer arrived without the necessary setup ink cartridges. I can imagine how disappointing and disconcerting this must have been, so I want to make sure that I provide information to help you make it right.

First, I can’t say for sure what happened in your situation, but what you describe can occur when a printer is sold, returned to the seller, then sold again to a different buyer without being adequately inspected before shipment.

Because you expected to receive a printer with all the necessary components, I recommend you contact the seller to address this promptly. You can find the seller by scrolling to the bottom of the Best Buy website and clicking Orders & Returns.

If you need to, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

When this printer works, it does a pretty good job. Problem is, it is not consistent. Continually drops connection over the network. A reboot helps sometimes, sometimes it does not. Don't buy.

Thanks for the review and description of your experience. While I’m glad that you’re happy with certain aspects of your printer’s performance, I’m sorry to learn that it has failed to maintain a reliable connection. Print, Scan, Copy, Photos and Mobile Fax that works via Wifi. Setup is easy and you will be up and running in no time. By now printers are nothing new and are a necessary evil in the home. The 6455 doesn’t have an onboard screen but the HP Smart App facilitates linking of your laptop, tablet etc and helps you with features etc The 6455 is a bit slow to print (about 10 pages per minute) but it’s a livable speed. The paper tray is 100 sheet capacity, 10 envelopes or 40 photo paper, but the photo paper is not in a separate try, you need to switch it out so keep that in mind if you do a lot of photo printing. Photos and general printing look great and if you opt for the innovative instant ink subscription service your operating costs will be fairly reasonable. While the 6455 has Mobile Fax capability for those rare occasions where you need to send a fax now a days, I found the operation a bit clunky and would tend to probably not use it. Overall this is a great choice for your everyday printing needs.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear your printer has not performed well, and that you’re unable to find the ink cartridges you need. Your review is brief, but your frustration is clear – and totally understandable – so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems. There you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve gotten such poor performance from the replacement cartridges you’ve bought for your printer. It’s no surprise that you’re put off, considering you’ve gotten only 10 pages per set of cartridges. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll provide some clarifying information and resources I hope will meet that goal.

The XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated page yields of 200 to 240 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages. Given that, here are some things you can consider:
      - If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, I recommend that you contact the seller who sold you the items.
      - Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within their “warranty ends” date). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

If you believe the cartridges were free of defects, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer was difficult to connect to your computer and that it’s going through so much ink. I can’t tell from your review how many pages you’ve gotten from the ink cartridges or how that compares with the page estimates, but I’ll nonetheless offer some information I hope will help you use less ink or otherwise resolve the situation.

Here are some things you can consider:
      - If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you can always contact the seller who sent you the cartridge about that.
      - Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within the “warranty ends” date on the cartridges). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

If the problem persists, I recommend that you reach out to us so we can help you assess the situation and work through any necessary troubleshooting with you. Get in touch via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

Uses much more ink than what HP says it does...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First, I bought this HP-Envy6455e because it had pretty much all the features that I was looking for (copy, automatic feeder, scan, wireless), and for those reasons I give it 3-stars and not just 1 or 2. I read some reviews about the hassle some owners/users had with wireless connectivity and high ink usage, and boy those were right! To start, the printer often goes off-line. I confirm that the wireless light is on, run diagnostics, etc. Only way to bringing it online again is to turn it off and back on as well as removing and reinstalling the device from my PCs. But what's worse is how much ink it uses. After going through 3 black and 2 tri-color cartridges in 5 months knowing I don't use it often, I decided to be very cautious and mindful to document each page I printed starting from 3/25/22 till 09/01/22. Black ink cartridge is gone after printing only 58 pages and most in 'draft' quality (none on high quality). The color cartridge is about 70% used with only 21 pages printed (none on high quality). So the ~120 black ink pages and ~100 color ink pages that HP advertises for this product in not near what I'm getting. At a price of ~$15.99 for black and ~$17.99 for color cartridge, the cost per printed page seems to be ~$0.28 for black and estimating ~$0.59 per color printed page! Stay away from this printer if you plan to use it heavily to print and you don't mind the wireless connectivity issues reported by other users. Scanning feature is as expected/advertised.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that your printer has not performed well. I can wholly understand your exasperation, considering the device has gone offline frequently and used ink more rapidly than the cartridges’ estimated page yields. I want to help you out of this dilemma, so I’ll suggest some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including printer-offline difficulties. You can find that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Regarding ink use, how cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is. That said, it does seem like yours should have printed more pages, considering most of the prints were in draft mode or lesser-quality resolution.

For more input on what might be happening – and if the offline problem persists – I suggest you contact us directly so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action.
