This printer is amazing. I used HP printers for sometime and never really got one with more than the basic printing features. This one has scan, print, fax. The setup was super easy, just downloaded the hp smart app and it walks you through each step, took about 10 minutes for everything. The wireless setup was a breeze. I love the color light on the bottom of the printer that indicates what step your on and once it’s connected to WiFi. The power button is on the bottom back of the printer which I prefer, especially if you have small children who like to touch every button they see. The control buttons are hidden in the front panel and only light up when you are going to use it, this is another great feature to keep little hands from pressing them. The scan tray on top is also hidden by a flap that when you need you just pull it down. Installing the cartridges are easy and only needs two, one black and one color. With the hp smart app you can select to automatically send new ink when running low. They have very affordable packages. From the app you can control everything with your printer. The app is real simple to use. Printer is a decent size good for a home office for moderate use. If your running a business I would say you probably need a larger printer that has more capabilities and can store more paper. This printer tray for paper isn’t that large. Perfect for the average user. I like this printer and it’s been the best one yet I have used from HP.

The HP Envy Pro 6455 is a winner of a home printer. It does everything a person could reasonably ask for in an attractive, stylish package. Print (including 2-sided), scan, copy, and fax are all supported. Print quality is very good and speed is decent, with B&W being a bit faster than color. Including a document feeder for copying/scanning is especially helpful since flatbed scanning a large number of documents is very tedious, so if you're someone who does this on a regular basis, this is a great feature. The feeder can support up to 35 pages. While it does all of the things expected of it well, I really liked the HP Smart app. The Smart app does the setup process with you--the out of the box experience is to have the app ready on your device, remove the packaging, and plug in the printer. It walks you through the rest--paper loading, ink installation, wireless configuration. The app itself is very useful and I found myself using it on my phone for printing than I did for my PC. The app can hook into various cloud services like Google Drive or OneDrive, so you can print some documents directly from them. All of your printer management can be done via the app as well. It's very convenient and far easier than digging through a driver control panel. The printer includes an optional subscription service that can automatically order ink for you at a discount as you get low. Overall, it's hard to envision a stronger home printer for a family or a small home office. The hardware features alone make it worth it, but I did find myself--contrary to my expectations--really liking the HP Smart app to manage and use the printer.

Good All-In-One Printer with a Frustrating Setup

I have had my new Hp Envy 6455e for about a week now and I have come to the conclusion that this device is pretty solid. And that is saying something because during the first few hours I was cussing this thing out! I have had several Hp models for home and work over the years as well as an Epson and a Canon. So I feel I have pretty good experience in this field. Though I am not giving it 5*s for a couple reasons. First off I need to rant for a moment. Set up was horrible. I was genuinely surprised by this. I have 3 other Hp printers that I set up with the same app that were easy. This thing was not….easy. This was in large part to the horribly incomplete instructions it comes with. Ultimately I just decided the quick start guide was useless to me and I went online in search of the manual that Hp doesn’t feel should be included. Which honestly, I’m ok with that decision. We don’t all need a print out of the full book. However with that said, some more info beyond plug it in, look for a purple light and follow the instructions on the app might be helpful. Like, might I suggest, what to do if the purple light goes away never to return lol! Once I found the manual online I eventually discovered my problem, err problems and got it working. I did get it working on my Chromebook and Android pretty easily. But I mostly print from my Windows PC and that’s where all my issues were coming from. As a printer, it’s solid. Don’t buy this thing expecting to be able to print photo quality pictures. But for most anything you would need for work or school it should suffice. The scanner and copier functions are solid. I played around scanning and copying things and these features get a solid thumbs up. The auto feeder for scanning/copying is great. The self healing Wi-Fi feature is also pretty nice. I have it on another Hp printer and it’s fantastic. If you have unstable Wi-Fi like I do and have had wireless printers disconnect from your system definitely look for a printer with this feature. Two sided printing works like a charm. Hp offers what they call 6 months of free ink. This is sort of true. There is a limit and you have to offer up a credit card and after the 6 months you will start to be billed monthly. Of course you can cancel but overall I am not a fan of what you have to do to get your free ink. But I know many will be fine with that, so for you folks that are fine with that process the ink is a nice little bonus. If you go thru a fairly consistent amount of ink and don’t want to mess with getting replacement cartridges yourself it’s not a bad deal. All in all I’m happy with this device. The app on Windows was horrible (did I mention it froze up repeatedly during set up) to use. The ink cartridges are annoyingly small. But as a budget priced all in one unit, it’s a solid 4*s. Good printer and an excellent scanner for an affordable price in my humble opinion. And if you are looking for an All-In-One in this price range, I would absolutely recommend this to a friend.

This printer is very simple to set up and start printing with. Instant Ink is an option that is very beneficial if you're going to be printing a lot. Weigh the options carefully before making the decision on that. You don't have to use Instant Ink to use the printer, though. That flexibility makes this printer a very economical option. The prints look good, and so does the scanner. It has a quiet mode that prints much more slowly, but you can barely hear it, which is nice.
