Customers enjoy the ENVY Pro 6455's high-quality prints and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and straightforward setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. No off line scanning available with this device??

Do not purchase if you are looking for privacy. This device will not allow you to operate without going online, regardless if you are directly connected to your computer via usb.?? I have not experienced this with my previous all-in-one printers. Very unhappy with HP, will not purchase their products again. This used to be an American made product?

    Connection Issues

Good printer. I have been having connection issues with it since I first got it. I have to reset the printer or unplug it and plug it back in all the time, may take one or multiple times till it finally wants to print. Really annoying, especially when I use the printer multiple times a day because I'm in school. I may have just got a bad printer with connection issues, but the app is helpful whenever my printer wants to work.

This printer is a no-go! It doesn't stay connected to the wifi. I exchanged it for another one, and IT was trash, too. Now, I'm exchanging it again for something else. Very disappointed in HP for this...

Can't scan directly to your computer

I tried to help my dad set up his new Envy Pro 6455 printer. He is very private and strictly wanted to use the USB cable -- no WiFi. Printing was easy. Once we put paper in, it printed. HP doesn't give you much ink to start with. After only 20 sheets, the black ink was down about 40%. Next, I tried to get the scanner going. HP Smart (the required software) requires a Microsoft account in order to download it from the app store. Once it was finally loaded, I hit Scan but couldn't until we also created an HP Cloud account. Remember, my dad is a private guy so he tries to avoid creating more on-line accounts. I reluctantly created one for him. Finally with everything set up I tried to scan again but was not able to. It turns out that scanning directly to the computer is impossible. You must have the printer connected to the WiFi and the internet and your only scanning option is to scan to your cloud account. I don't know how you retrieve your document after that point because we decided to put it back in the box. This is too much money to pay for a printer alone. He will be returning it soon. I will be avoiding HP for a while.

    Garbage

This printer is garbage. It does not have a screen, so all set up, trouble shoot and ink check needs to be done through an app. It constantly disconnects from our network. The power button does not work, I have to unplug it from the wall to set it up again! I have updated the driver 2 days ago and printed 4 pages and now it does not work again. DON'T BUY IT!

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that your printer has performed so poorly for you in the short time that you’ve had it. It’s no surprise that you’re frustrated, considering you’ve dealt with problematic usability, connectivity issues and a power button that doesn’t work – not to mention that the device stopped working after the driver update. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide a couple of resources I hope will reach that goal.

I can’t tell from your review what has caused these problems or what a remedy might be, so I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
      - hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

A Real Pro at being Offline for No Reason!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It's been just over a year since purchase and this HP Pro Envy 6455 has been a pain since the 1st use. It consistently goes "offline", and I've had to remove and re-add it to my computer several times, which is also not a smooth process. Also, if you happen to purchase the ink plan, but then decide you no longer want the plan but still have ink from the plan, the printer will not work, so you cannot use your purchased ink. This is my 2nd HP Printer, but due to all of the print issues I've had with this not-so-Pro printer, it will definitely be my last.

    Constantly Off-line

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was very excited by this simple home office printer, until I started noticing if I didn't do print jobs within 5-10 minutes of start up, the printer would go off-line without anyway of it coming back unless I get on my hands and knees, pull it out from under my desk, unplug, then plug it back in. This would otherwise have been a 5-star review, but I'm so annoyed at the constant unplugging and plugging back in, 1-star all the way. There's a million other printers out there, don't buy this one.

I just tossed the printer into the garbage!

I am a PC expert and I just tossed this printer in the garbage outside. Had enough of it never connecting either wireless or by USB. You have to log in and PW just to print something. Scanning has never worked. I just called HP support on their own website and they get all your info and then ask to take control of your camera and PC. Scammers. They are in India. The capital of all the U.S. scamming. I was floored. This printer is a problem even for certified Windows expert. The problem is not me.

I never write reviews on products but this time I felt I had to. I bought this printer because it was fairly priced and meant for everyday printing. Set up was easy and smooth. App works great. But thats when things start going wrong. A) the printer won't stay connected to the network. It will show that it is connected, but when you try print, nothing happens. You need to unplug and replug. B) this thing guzzles ink like I've never seen. Officially a 67 cartridge can print 3,000 copies. I don't think I even got 200 out of it. C) the print quality is very poor. Words are faided and not clear at all. D) printing speed is very poor. E) it doesnt seem like you can print double sided when you scan documents. In short, this printer has cool lights and touch buttons but it will frustrate you to no end. Buy something else.

    Horrible waste of money

The worst home printer ever. Full of glitches, hard to use. Prints partial pages when it even prints. I have three printers and have had many in the past, no complaints with any of them, but this one is so poorly designed that I will NEVER by another HP product of any kind. Top that off with the totally nonexistent product support from HP; their bots don't even work.

Don’t buy this printer! I’ve had paper feeder issues, connection with wifi issues and general printing issues. It takes up to a minute to send the document to print. Ended up returning printer for an upgrade. Only owned it 6 weeks.

I was so excited about getting this printer. I went through the set up including WiFi without trouble. All was fine until I got to align the printer and that is as far as it got. It printed the alignment paper and I saw an error message of E9 and looked it up and saw that I was not the only one who had this problem. The E9 message suggested I do this and I do that, which I had already done before I looked up the E9 error message. It stated that if all that fails it must be a hardware issue! That did it. I am taking this printer back. I was so disappointed. All my printers were bought from Best Buy including my computers and everything else that goes with laptops, etc.

    Worst Printer Ever

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This hunk of junk is nothing but trouble. It constantly has software problems. You'll select to print something and your computer will not recognize that the printer is even there. Or, you'll print something and the printer will print blank pages. You'll contact support and spend hours fixing the problem...which they will identify as a problem with HP and not Windows or your OS....and this cycle will repeat over 70% of the times you try to print. Absolute disaster. I'm going to go Office Space on this garbage!

Have had the printer for about ten days and if you are not printing through the day the printer goes offline, even if the wifi connection light is illuminated. I have called HP trouble shooting three times and every time the fix is to turn the power off, delete the printer and re-install the printer to get the wifi connection. They say there is no way to enable the printer to say online. I would not recommend this printer at all ,unless you are happy to continuously turn the power off and re-install the printer every time you need to do a print job.
