Great laptop at a SUPERB price

This laptop is so versatile and it's perfect for college/high school student. I read so many bad reviews for this laptop and I'm glad I went with my gut and still bought it. All of my friends were trying to convince me to get a Mac (Which cost about 1 grand for the same features of this HP Pavillion that is also a touchscreen convertible!) But to be honest, the only innovative thing about Macs are the anti-virus protection. (And if you download avast on a PC it works just as well.) All in all, I would definitely recommend this laptop, the battery life is surprisingly good and the touchpad and touchscreen are very responsive. Also if it breaks down you have a 1-Year Warranty with Geek Squad! I'd definitely recommend this laptop to any type of notebook user.

Very pleased with the item. I was looking at ASUS 2 in 1s and HP 2 in 1s. I was looking at i3 and i5 processors. I could not justify the small difference in benchmark performance of the i5 over the i3 for the larger difference in price. This refurb HP was a bargin at $300. Sold out at that price and I haven't seen anything under $389. I usually buy AMD based computers. This is the first Intel based computer and I am impressed. Running Windows 8.1 in Windows 7 mode. This thing is fast. Wakes up in 2-4 seconds and cold boots in less than a minute. The battery last 5-7 hours. It runs at 15-25% CPU and 50-60% memory with 3-4 applications open. I wish it had a little more memory. The 4 GB is sufficient, I just want more. May do an upgrade to 8 GB after the 90 day warranty runs out. I read some complaints about gesturing on the touchpad. I have not had any problems. I have Time Warner Ultimate and have seen 30 MB wireless and wired. Hope to see higher speeds when TW fixes a couple of bugs. A couple of detractors. Wish the keyboard was backlit and that the network interface was 1 Gbit instead of 100 Mbit. Not a real problem.

There are better laptops, there are better 2-in-1s. But, for the price, this is a great computer. It's pretty thin and light compared to other computers in this category, and the inclusion of the i3 also makes it fast. If you are looking for something to do all the basics - web, word processing, etc this won't disappoint.

This 2in1 convertable looks sleek. And priced very reasonable. Perfect for light task like browser web site, watch movie etc. I have no complain at all. The refurbish item looks brand new also.

The only negatives is that when in tablet it's hard to get the screen to rotate the way you need it and it has issues connecting to Wi-Fi. Other than that this computer does everything I need it to and it comes at a great price. Its light and perfect for carrying to class.

I had previously bought a Toshiba Satellite and it just didnt do what i wanted it to do. Looked through online and found this HP as a refurb, i've never bought a refurb item. Had it about a couple months the processor speed is def better then the last comp i had. The biggest problem is the Wireless Adapter keeps messing up. It will lose signal and i have to reset it. Sometimes when i turn off my comp it automatically diasables the wifi. If this wireless adapter issue could be resolved I would def rate this comp higher.

so when i bought this laptop i bought it think that it had core i3 processor..i ordered the laptop from the bestbuy website as a refurbish item. hen i reieved it it was on of the worst laptobs that i have ever had. note i havent had alot of labtops but ive have desktops and this one was suppose to replace my old pc.. when i got the laptop it took forever to boot up into windows 8.1 once it did it was very laggy and it froze about 3 times. i maybe kept it for about 1 week thinking that the updates for the laptop would fix it but that was a no go..i ended up taking it to mmy local bestbuy and getting a toshiba laptop..

Unfortunately, I didn't have the laptop long enough to give a good review. Broke within the 4th day of receipt, wouldn't update anymore and just crash. Ended up returning it. As from my brief experience it was a pretty neat laptop. Perfect for a student such as myself, only concern would be the keyboard when you're using it in tablet mode. Buy new & save yourself some time. I never buy refurbished but took the chance and now I remember why I don't.

This isn't the fastest kid on the block, but if you replace the hard drive the boot time changes from about 1 minute 30 seconds, to about 20 seconds.
