I used to like the 8130e Printer. I, like a lot of other people, did not want to pay $200.00 for printer cartridges. So I bought the chip-compatible cartridges for about $80.00. and all worked fine... HERE'S MY ISSUE:
WARNING FOR HP PRINTER OWNERS: "HP LOCKING YOU OUT"
IF YOU ARE USING NON-HP PRINT CARTRIDGES, THE LATEST FIRMWARE UPDATE WILL LOCK YOU OUT & REQUIRE YOU TO BUY THE VERY HIGH-PRICED HP-PRINT CARTRIDGES FROM THEM.... ALSO, THE AUTO FIRMWARE UPDATE WILL BECOME GREYED OUT, AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MANUALLY UPDATE FIRMWARE..

My previous printer was an HP, all in one. It served us well for several years.
My main purpose in purchasing a new printer was to have another all in one model with a document feeder for scanning.
I checked this model out in the store along with talking to a customer service rep.
I chose this model based on the following:
Document feeder.
Individual ink cartridges. I don’t do enough printing to warrant a tank system. Plus, some models use a single cartridge with all colors within.

I've had this for a few months now and I have to say it is the worst printer I've ever owned and I've owned printers for my pc since the 90's. The on-off button is horribly quirky. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Printing is haphazard in quality. It can print nicely for awhile, then suddenly ink streaks appear. Then it can print ok for awhile again. And I linked it to my computer via direct cable connection and it takes a long, long time to get ready to print. No better with WIFI. Total waste of money and it wasn't cheap.

It works well. I would like a bigger screen but I can live with this. operating the machine from the screen is a little confusing, I think a better job could have been done on order of functions. Example finding size adj. is not clear.

I hate that it is made out of rather flimsy plastic. It doesn't affect the way it copies, but if someone bumped into it or shut it too hard, I believe it would break. I like HP products, so I bought it. Time will tell if it holds up.

Definitely not as functional as my former HP Officejet 8620 but it will do. If you're looking for speed you won't get it with this one. Overall a decent printer at a good price point.
