Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) I recently bought the HP OMEN 16.1" Gaming Laptop and, so far, it's been impressive. While I haven't used it extensively, here's what I think: Pros: Great Performance: The Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB DDR5 memory (upgraded to 32GB for around $90+tax. easily installed with YouTube tutorials) handle everything smoothly. Fantastic Display: The 165Hz Full HD screen makes games look vibrant and smooth. The high refresh rate really helps in fast-paced games. Solid Graphics: The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 offers amazing graphics and real-time ray tracing. Looking forward to playing more Elden Ring on it. Plenty of Storage: The 1TB SSD has ample space for my games, and load times are quick. Cons: Not Very Portable: At 16.1 inches, it's not the easiest to carry around. Even the 16in size laptop bag I ordered wouldn't squeeze it in. More of a desktop replacement. Battery Life: I keep it plugged in most of the time, so battery life isn't an issue for me. However, the hardware can drain the battery quickly. Final Verdict The HP OMEN 16.1" Gaming Laptop is a great pick for gamers who want performance and visuals. It has some drawbacks, like portability and battery life, but its strengths far outweigh them. If you're into gaming and need a powerful laptop, this one won't disappoint.

I bought this about three weeks ago. I worked in information systems for years and just got burned out on computers in the last computer that I bought was back in 2008 so I needed one and I looked for probably six months until I found this one. I went out to Best Buy because they said they had it in stock And when I got there, the salesman wasn’t really interested in helping me very much so I asked him to call the manager over and the manager sold me the display model for a very good deal. I couldn’t say no. Besides it just having 16 GB of RAM (which I will upgrade) it hasn’t hit a snag or a game I couldn’t run wide open. It it is a gaming computer so you might get about an hour to an hour and a half with it. Unplugged doing some hard-core gaming. If you’re just using it for casual stuff, the battery will last for 4 to 5 hours. I completely drained the battery the other night and it charged to 100% in an hour. I am very pleased with it and my family is pleased that I’m not looking for a computer anymore. Boot up to play time is under a minute. I love it.

Amazing laptop, does pretty much what I need it to do for gaming and heavy/light tasks. High refresh rates help as well, awesome for streaming movies & videos also gaming. Battery could be better, but this is expected for components like this for what it has. I get around 40 mins of gaming and then need to plug it in, otherwise amazing machine. Temps are in healthy range, norhing dangerous.

Really an amazing laptop. I am upgrading for a Dell Inspiron I had for 7 years because it started seriously causing problems for my workflow. I held on as long as I could with it, this upgrade feels like a whole new computer though. Gaming? I used to barely get 30 frames on league of legends with lowest graphics setting and now for only $1k I’m getting upwards of 240 with maximum graphics settings on. I will have my usual 15 google chrome tabs open sometimes and not even notice a difference when playing videogames on it versus when I close all my tabs. Truly runs smoothly 99% of the time. Only time I ever had a problem was when I had all of the ports with something plugged in like all the USB ports and usb-c and audio jack. Then it started glitching out a bit. I didn’t need to use them all anyway so I just unplugged. Great around 5 hours of straight max graphics gaming battery life so far as well although I’ve only had it for a year so we’ll see how it diminishes. Feels sturdy, cool multicolor and customizable light up keyboard, smooth trackpad, clean display, nice size screen too - not too big but DEFINITELY not small. It really is an entire perfect on-the-go PC!

It does everything I need and then some! Does not lag loads up fast, can play games and multitask with no issues! Literally the biggest bang for your buck! Thanks guys!

Runs perfectly, smooth gameplay and great graphics! Fans usually don’t kick in unless you’re playing something SUPER intensive, and they aren’t *too* loud luckily, good cooling! Perfect for gaming and multitasking, battery life is good but gets short if you’re playing something with intensive graphics

I bought this laptop as an early college gift for my son, who’s diving into coding, computer science, and of course, gaming. We initially saw it online, but decided to head to the store to get a hands-on feel for it—and it didn’t disappoint! The 165Hz display is super smooth, and my son was immediately impressed by how well it handled both his gaming and coding programs. We did run into a minor issue with the first one we purchased, likely a hardware glitch during setup, but Best Buy's team was amazing and swapped it out right away. The new one has been running flawlessly, and it's fast, responsive, and great for multitasking. As for the pros, the 1TB SSD is a huge plus for storage, and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 delivers fantastic graphics performance, especially for a laptop in this price range. The 16GB DDR5 memory is more than enough for everything my son needs right now. On the downside, battery life isn’t great when running on high performance settings, especially during gaming sessions—he definitely needs to keep the charger nearby. It's also a bit on the heavy side, but that’s expected for such a powerful machine. It’s clearly designed to be a desktop replacement, so the extra weight makes sense. I’m more used to my Lenovo X1 Nano, which is ultralight, so the difference in weight was noticeable to me, though my son doesn’t seem to mind at all. Overall, he’s thrilled with it, and I’m confident it’s a solid investment for his college years.

I’ve been using the HP OMEN 16 (Shadow Black, i7 / 16 GB DDR5 / RTX 4060 / 1 TB SSD) for a few weeks now, and it’s far exceeded my expectations. It’s been a fantastic gaming laptop that also handles everyday tasks with ease. What I love: The 165 Hz Full HD display is buttery smooth — competitive shooters feel incredibly responsive. The RTX 4060 GPU delivers excellent performance; I can crank settings high in recent AAA titles and still maintain great framerates. With 16 GB DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD, load times are negligible and multitasking is seamless (streaming, Discord, and gaming all at once is no problem). The build feels premium. The keyboard is comfortable, the chassis is solid, and the overall design is sleek and understated. Cooling and thermals are well managed — even during long sessions it stays within acceptable temperatures, and I don’t hear constant fan noise. Battery life for light use (web browsing, light productivity) is decent for a gaming laptop, though obviously under load it drains faster — which is expected. Minor Quibbles: Under heavy gaming, the fans do ramp up noticeably — but it’s tolerable and expected for a machine pushing high performance. As with most gaming laptops, battery life when gaming is limited, so you’ll want to be plugged in for the full experience. All told, this laptop hits the sweet spot between performance, features, and usability. It’s a terrific choice if you want solid gaming chops without going into overkill territory. Highly recommended!

this is the whole powerhouse its so hella powerful, the sounds are delicious, the screen is juicy and the keyboard is so muaah chef kiss. overall its perfect for everything, gaming, watching, editing. 1tb is so perfect. idk what about audio, i got a microphone anyway. im really glad i got this one, nasa laptop!?

Wow, what an amazing computer! I bought this laptop as a birthday present and have been absolutely loving it! The customizable backlighting for the keyboard is so much fun to play with, and the resolution makes everything just pop! The performance has been top notch, every game I've tried has worked like a dream with no issues at all. It handles Oblivion Remastered like a dream with zero issues, no lag, no stutter! I highly recommend this laptop if you're looking for a replacement for any older laptop.

I picked up this gaming laptop mainly for League of Legends, PUBG, and GTA V, and it handles all three like a champ. League runs buttery smooth (even when I’m feeding), PUBG doesn’t stutter during intense firefights, and GTA V looks great—even when I’m causing absolute chaos in Los Santos. The fans do get a bit loud under pressure, like it’s trying to launch into orbit, but the performance is worth it. It’s portable enough for on-the-go gaming but powerful enough to feel like a real gaming rig.
