This is much better than last years 14 inch transcend model. This is absolutely a beast machine and a must have! The graphics is amazing and its very smooth. When loading heavy graphic based games this laptop runs it like nothing. Especially the beautiful 240hz OLED screen its just stunning! If you have the budget I would definitely get this laptop, you wont be disappointed!

Runs super smooth, great graphics! A little bulky, not sleek and small design but powerful and capable for gaming programs, college work, apps and more.

It has been almost a month now and I have to say I'm impressed. Never had any HP before, for well known heating issues, but this Omen laptop has shut down all my doubts. Cooling system is extremely efficient, you have to tweak a little bit on BIOS and OMEN Hub and then it is perfect!!
The 5080 is beyond my expectations, gone are the days of 30 to 65 fPS, any game, any setting I have thrown at it just works flawlessly.
As others has reviewed, OLED screen is good but NOT that good, is ok, as me and any serious gamer will use external monitor, same goes for keyboard.
Overall, I'm glad I took the decision to buy HP, despite bad reputation due to heating in the past, but it is the past, so good for now, specially in these RTX50XX series drought.
Optimus video switcher is a very bad idea, or Idk if it is bad HP implementation but hinders ability to fully setup external monitors properly.

This laptop is amazing. I traded a g14 4060 to get this. It is so fast!! Ive been running tons of games on ultra with no hickups. The cooling is ridiculously good. Temps have been 40-70 max. The oled is awesome and the keyboard/rgb layout is one if my favorite things about it. The keys have the perfect depth.

I love it. I've never had a gaming laptop before. The videos and graphics are so clear and crisp. I love how convenient it is to move if I need to, and I also do some work on here outside of gaming.

I have tried Asus Lenovo gigabyte and now finally the HP’s oled models of the 5080 laptops and i will say by far this one has the best thermals of then all. They all run with 1-2% of each other which means they fall under the margin of error and if i ran the same benchmarks 100 times there’d be cases where each one would beat the other by a frame or a second, so they’re all nearly identical in raw performance. Im pretty sure they all share the same oled panel but i will say the lenovo one for some reason seemed like it looked the best but the hp one here is still gorgeous and looked the same as all the other brands except the lenovo one i mentioned. So if youre going for a 5080 laptop and you plan to use it for long 4-8 hour game sessions I recommend this laptop. As the other models all reach 90-99 degress on the cpu where this one maxed to 87 degrees while gaming on a game like Black myth wukong

Impressive machine, I never thought I would buy a HP but after dealing with the ASUS zephyrus laggy and overheating machine that I returned, this has been found to be a SOLID piece of engineering
HP did NOT sacrifice form over function, it's a little thick but it does NOT overheat, great thinking. this is where asus went wrong, tried to make it slim and they made a nice looking laptop that overheats and starts lagging on simple games
i am overtly impressed with the HP omen, i usually buy Lenovo products due to the high build quality and it seems that HP stole some engieneers from there.
I can play all my games on ultra with no problems, this laptop will age well.
A little pricy, absolutely but you have to pay for quality and longevity, and avoid buyers remorse, buy it once

I love the OLED screen on the HP Omen - Max 16. It looked so cool that I bought it. I just need to remember how to use a PC after years of using Apple. I liked it so much that I bought one for my girlfriend so we could play games faster. The speaker sounds good for a laptop. The screen is sharper. It’s built solid, it stays cool, and I like the keyboard. The touchpad is okay, but it’s still a powerful laptop.

I love it. It cost me more than others but it had the lit up keys that I wanted. The color on the screen is so bright and the graphics are so clear. It’s better than watching my TV. I’m glad I bought it and it’s worth every penny.

The laptop feels very solid and heavy. The screen looks great and bright and the high refresh rate is awesome. I like that I can limit the battery charge to 80% in the BIOS to keep the battery healthy longer. The keyboard is great, but the trackpad is nothing special. The value is high when the laptop is on sale. I can't comment on battery life because I only use plugged in.

Battery life. This is my first gaming laptop and first oled screen I absolutely love both. The gaming has been amazing but i switched from macbook m1 (which was my first laptop in general) so I was use to charging every other day. Now i have to charge every 1-2 hours which sucks but overall having this still feels like an upgrade. Went all in and bought a oled monitor as well so i cant wait until its all setup

Okay laptop, feels useless without it being plugged in.
Pros
Great screen quality, fast and a powerhouse, good build quality
Cons
Bad keyboard layout, needs to plugged in to work. Expensive

This HP is a very capable machine and has a sleek chassis and a gorgeous display. It's main drawback is the stock thermal paste. It uses a hybrid liquid metal and can create inconsistent temperatures depending on the factory application. The keyboard is beautiful if you like the pudding design. The typing experience was acceptable but not great. Definitely pick this one up on sale.

Product case feels good and materials are reasonable for the price. It has been performing the tasks I throw at it fairly well. I'm having one big issue with the PC however in that I can't configure the keyboard to behave like the demo laptop in the store. I contact support and they told me to pay for an HP service to receive any help with this issue. Why would the laptop not be default configured like the demo?
