The quality and graphics of video games is top tier. The refresh rate is the best & smooth. I understand that a bit of the trade off with these qualities is the battery drains a little quicker but I'm okay with that.

Had a Razer Blade Pro 17, early 2021 edition purchased in early 2021 for almost double what this Omen costs, it onlt lasted 2.5 years and the mother board fried. So was really looking to avoid past mistakes and wanted something completely different. This is it, sleek, super light, and powerful. Runs everythinf i want wirh maxed graphics.

Great PC, Terrible Battery Life

With no applications running and the lid closed and power saving mode on, the battery will drain overnight to 0%. After playing Age of Empires D.E. for 4 minutes, the battery drained 62% or something according to the battery hub. Don’t like the OMEN Gaming Hub button either, as I mostly work on this pc. Other than the battery life, this product is phenomenal and great, but as is, I can’t recommend it. I hope it’s a software/firmware issue that’s sorted out
I run audio processing on it with a DAW, and it’s all great. Sometimes the left click on the trackpad is troublesome, as it likes to interpret it as a right click, but if you use a mouse, you’re fine.

A Great Laptop, but not perfect.

I got this laptop after needing a replacement for my old ASUS laptop, which came shipped with a manufacturing defect. I decided to stay away from ASUS as this is the third time this happened to me, and that was a great choice.
Price:
This laptop is extremely premium for the price it is going at currently (2,299$). The Core i9-13000HX and RTX 4070 are a great pair for gaming, programming, and day to day tasks. The GPU is a great option for gaming, and its 130W TGP is amazing for price to performance. The i9 out of the box feels super smooth, and the computer has an inherent snappiness.
Battery:
Overall for the battery, I cannot say I recommend this. Although HP listed its battery as 11 hours, I cannot get anywhere close to this, getting only 3 hours at most.
Display:
The display is incredible, and you won't find a more premium display at this price point. The 240HZ display feels super responsive, and the screen looks genuinely amazing. The 16:10 Aspect Ratio is definitely an added bonus. I am also super happy with the brightness, it can go between super dark for late night browsing, to super bright for mid-day gaming. I do wish it was a glass display though, you may want to consider chucking a tempered glass cutout on the display if you are like me, and love that look.
Build Quality:
The build quality for this machine is simply amazing, there's barely any flex on the keyboard, trackpad, or anywhere else, and it honestly feels super sturdy.
The trackpad is big, which I love on my laptops, and it feels awesome when in your lap or on a desk.
The keyboard is super premium, while I personally set them to a pure white color for the RGB, it has a fully configurable RGB layout. Typing on it feels super natural, and is honestly one of the best keyboards on a laptop I have felt; your hands sit naturally on the space beside the trackpad, and overall, the typing experience is amazing.
One thing to note is that the hinges are, as most HP laptops are, not great, I don't feel a consistent wobble with it, however I can imagine sitting in a car or on a plane could give it significant wobble. That said, it is barely noticeable sitting on a desk or in your lap.
Thermals:
The thermals are great for this laptop, assuming you don't mind it sounding like a jet engine is taking on your desk when in performance mode. It managed to stay a cool 72C on the GPU while running benchmarks, though with considerable noise; headphones are a must. Though tuning it back again going with the built in balanced profile definitely helped, and while the thermals did increase, it was super quiet, and came nowhere near thermal throttling.
Overall:
This is a great machine for daily driving, assuming that you have a power-supply on hand. I do recommend picking up a Type-C lightning charger, as from my experience I can go from 0% to 100% in just under an hour and thirty minutes.

Solid build and very exquisite! Performance and display is top notch! HP did an excellent job on the design. Only nitpick is, a little bit of a chin. Thank god its a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Although HP is not a premium laptop the Omen falls in the middle of the spectrum. No real features that stand out. Already a few crashes have occured with Civilization abd U-boat. Nothing impressive to mention considering the two thousand dollar price tag. I can't recommend this platform do to the lackluster performance and lack of fingerprint reader, facial recognition and ten key. Fans are noisy and overall performance is standard. Bulky and overweight paperweight is the description I would assign to this machine I regret the purchase. I won't be procuring HP ever again.

So far, so good. I've only had this for only a week, but right now, the only complaint that I have is port availability. Would probably give it 5 stars, if not for that. This is my Photoshop workhorse computer that replaces my 7 year old laptop. Once I've completed loading all of my other programs, I may be coming back to update my review. So far, I'm loving it. Not to keen on the white color though. I use this primarily as a desktop, so it's always plugged up, wherever I am. The display is crisp and clean. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Good performance with troubling BSODs

First off the build quality is great and the Omen feels very premium! When it comes to performance, this thing definitely is almost up there with the big boy laptops. Medium settings in AAA titles will get you 160fps. Randomly i would get DirectX issues with COD MW2, but other games i played were fine (e.g., Fortnite, Diablo 4, Overwatch, etc.). Even more randomly, i would get BSODs. Not sure why, but i experienced it about 4 times within a span of a week, which is why i ultimately returned the laptop. If it were not for that, this would be my favorite travel laptop. Another factor in why it was returned was the battery life... Just doing mundane tasks like browsing the Internet or watching YouTube would yield only around 2-3 hours at best. Seems like the efficiency cores from the Intel CPU aren't that efficient. Obviously your mileage will vary, but i don't think by too much... Overall, i would recommend this laptop only if the unit you get doesn't BSOD and you're ok with the less than stellar battery life.

Great laptop, had to replace a laptop that got damaged and the sales rep recommended this laptop as a replacement, I did have a 17 in HP omen previously but this 16in is just as good as my old one. Faster startup and great graphics and gaming. Love that I can upgrade the RAM in the future but not necessary just yet- overall great replacement

A little overpriced for a 60hz laptop

Don't get wrong, I love this laptop. The bright screen, lightning quick response on tasks, touch pad is great, and I love the white color. HOWEVER, due to limitations with Windows 11 it will not operate at 240hz or 120hz- either of which will give you a flickering screen that is unusable. So, I now have a super expensive 60hz Omen that I still really like.

performs great and allows me to play all the modern titles, however it can over heat very easily. Luckily i had a good laptop cooler to solve that issue. But needing to spend another 50+ dollars to make it not overheat is an issue.

Great notebook so far. Crushes my Mac M1 Max desktop and my 8th gen HP Pavillion notebook this replaces. Only quibble is with the multizone RGB keyboard, you cannot set the backlight color on keys to 'white' as it shows as 'light purple.' Not a deal breaker. Also, want to make the hot keys (game keys) a little less bright, but while I can set color by zone, doesn't seem to be able to change brightness per zone. Again, not deal breaker. Wicked fast. Reommcned cooling pad that pushes air up to rear bottom. Toasty. :) Love it.

I absolutely love this laptop. My wife uses it to play games and do work on and it does everything perfect. I have been using while I’m away on business for 6 months now and it has worked amazingly with no issues what so ever. If there is anything I would like to see differently is more usb ports, but it is definitely not a problem for me personally.

Probably the best bang for buck out there. I dont feel like I got robbed from my last purchase years ago when I bought a razer blade pro 17. You can’t go wrong its light, no soldered ram with a i9 hx. Don’t sleep on this one.
