The HP OmniBook X Flip is a well-balanced all-rounder, particularly good for students or business use. While perhaps not exceptional in any particular area, it has a very nice balance of features and performance making an excellent jack-of-all-trades.
Power and Performance: This is one of the few machines with 24GB of ram and the new AMD AI 350 processors. having 24GB of ram provides more breathing room for running applications, VMs, or just lots of Chrome tabs, and sets this model ahead of most of its peers which only have 16GB. The AMD AI 350 chip is more than fast enough, running with ease. Fan noise is minimal, and even under load is not excessive. Battery life is good (not great) but should easily get through a typical workday or schoolday. I am getting 6-7 hours of actual use with screen brightness fairly high. The included iGPU is plenty fast for older AAA games but this is not a gaming computer. Considering the processor speed, extra ram, and 1TB SSD, this computer has the power to last for years. As recently as 1 year ago, having an NPU and being certified as Copilot + was really just a gimmick, but there are many features starting to appear which use the NPU, making this a much better investment in future capability. I would not buy a non-AI PC in 2025, and in a few years I think non-AI PCs will be significantly left behind, making this one future-ready.
Case design: it is a nice metal case with a pleasing modern look. New edge design underneath give the illusion of a much thinner base and are pleasant to grip. The case top and bottom are very professional in appearance, almost looking like a Bosch appliance. There are ample ports, (USB-C, HDMI, headphone, USB-A) including 2 USB-A ports when many comparable have 1 or even 0. There is no microSD card slot however. Case flex is present, but not excessive.
Keyboard and Trackpad: Keyboard and trackpad are good, but neither are great. The Trackpad surface is has a nice friction, and the touch click force is very good. It is not a haptic trackpad though. Keyboard looks very nice with even backlighting. However, keyfeel is a step behind the best in the class and even a step back from the prior HP Envy series.
Conferencing and media: Speakers are very good, clear, loud, and even a bit of bass. They are suitable for both video meetings (Zoom, Teams, etc) and watching media. No complaints there. The webcam is also clear and crisp. Built in microphones are clear as well. A big plus is the included Poly Camera software which uses the NPU in the AMD AI 350 chip to create some very useful video features for conferencing. This is a feature I've only seen on new HP AI PCs, and it is really impressive. The IR face recognition camera works very well with Windows Hello.
Screen: a small step up from prior Envy but one of the less impressive. Brightness is definitely good, and up to 400 nits from the prior Envy models 300. It is bright enough for any indoor use. The screen is very glossy and does have a bit of glare. Viewing angles are good. Contrast and color saturation unfortunately are average to slightly-worse-than-average for 2025, and would not recommend this for photo work or for anyone who values rich colors. On my particular model, blacklight bleeding from the edges and corners was worse than I expected, although pressing around the edge of the screen really helped. . . which implies the screen may not have been assembled well. The screen is MPP compatible and worked perfectly with several Microsoft Surface pens and a generic MPP stylus. Lines were smooth and I would say this is fine for note-taking.
Bloatware: there is a fair amount of bloatware on this PC. HP stuffs it with quite a few of its own apps (more than 10), and sometimes multiple apps need to be opened to adjust settings (like smart battery charging and updates being in two different HP apps). HP also installs its OMEN gaming software, some (fairly useless) HP AI tools, the Poly Camera (very useful), and the McAfee security suite. Fortunately most of these can be removed or ignored.
While not often mentioned, this PC just works. Sleep is reliable, it wakes perfectly and quickly when key is pressed (even with external Bluetooth keyboard), and I just haven't seen any of the typical Windows issues that often come up. No weird driver issues, didn't need hundreds of updates, no strange crashes. Nice!

I’ve been using the HP OmniBook X Flip for about a week and it’s awesome. It’s super fast, the touchscreen is super sharp, and it switches between laptop and tablet mode smoothly.
The Copilot+ AI features are actually useful and saves time. Plenty of memory and storage and it handles multitasking like a champ.
Battery lasts all day, it’s whisper-quiet, and the build feels premium. Only downside is no HDMI port, but USB-C gets the job done. All in all, a killer 2-in-1 that feels ahead of the curve.

I recently bought the HP OmniBook X Flip, and it has exceeded my expectations. The laptop is super responsive thanks to the AMD Ryzen AI chip, and the 24GB RAM makes multitasking a breeze. I’ve been using it for learning, online courses, and starting out with AI programming — it handles everything smoothly.
The 2K touchscreen is sharp and vibrant, and the 2-in-1 design is really convenient for note-taking and streaming. The build quality feels premium, the keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the battery life easily lasts a full day.
Copilot features like Live Captions and Cocreator in Paint are surprisingly useful, and I’m excited for the upcoming Recall feature. Also appreciated the 1TB SSD — tons of space for my files and projects.
Highly recommend it for students, professionals, and anyone exploring the future of AI computing.

Overall, seems like a nice laptop, and a pretty good deal when on sale. Has more memory than the usual 16 gig, a 1TB Pcie connected hard drive, a touchscreen display that looks really nice to me, and several folding options. What I don't like is the requirement to have a Microsoft account to log on - something you used to be able to get around, but I think they have figured out how to stop that. And then HP wants you to create an account to keep drivers and such up to date - something windows used to do, but not so much anymore I guess. Have not had it long, but it seems plenty fast, has an NPU that should help it to keep up with AI developments - at least for awhile, and fills all my needs for the time being. Only thing I did not see is a spot for a locking cable, but for me that was not a deal breaker. Can't comment on the battery life, as I have not pushed it to that extent. For less than a grand on sale, it seems like a 5 star machine, but I don't have enough time with it to say for sure, so I give it 4 stars.

Amazing laptop! I am very please by the build of the exterior, has a metallic effect (no cheap plastic vibe).
So far everything works great, I also installed M365 and it runs great.
The battery lasts longer than any of my prior laptops (~ 9 hrs) -however, this is no where close to the 19 hrs advertised.
It is compact enough to move around, the 2K display is awesome and touchscreen feels good. I do use monitors, so the small screen (14") is not a minus at all for me, it is easy to carry around and plug. Infact I love the compactness and it can easily fold up to work as a tablet.
This is my first switch from Intel chip to AMD and honestly I have nothing to complain about. However, I am also not using any high intensity video graphic editing or gaming to test either of those chips to the core. As a regular user who works extensively with documents, powerpoints, chrome browsers, this works great with multiple windows open.
This is my first HP (after being a longtime Lenovo customer, and a Dell before that), and first time AMD chip user.

Perfect for entrepreneurs on the move! It’s super lightweight, quick to set up, and powerful enough to handle my day to day activities like Zoom calls, digital tools to help build my brand. If you’re running your business from anywhere and everywhere, this little machine shows up like a boss.

The HP OMNIBOOK has been fantastic for my child’s schoolwork. It’s fast, reliable, and lightweight—perfect for homework, research, and online classes. The battery life easily lasts through a school day, and the keyboard is comfortable for typing assignments. It’s a great value and highly recommended for students.

The colors, sound and speed are good, and it holds a charge for a long time with consistent use. It runs a bit hot while charging but works well overall. Straight out of the box I got a message that it needed to "perform memory training". Hopefully it isn't a recurring issue.

Overall great laptop for the sale price. The screen is nice and bright but it does have a couple light bleed spots around the edges. I didn't think I would like the keyboard at first just based on how it looks but it's quick and easy to type on.
The touch screen is very responsive and works great with a pen.
The 24 gb of ram is great for multi-tasking including some 3d print modeling, vs code, and about as many Chrome tabs as I can throw at it.

I love OmniBook. Perfect size and weight. Touchscreen was a must when making a selection. Great for work and work when traveling. Reaction speed is great. Would recommend for work or personal use.

Build quality solid, physically feels sturdy. Not sure about the drivers. I usually have to reboot the laptop once every 3-5 days because something has stopped working after putting the laptop to sleep between uses. Typically it's the wifi or bluetooth, most recently the hotkeys to adjust screen brightness would not exceed level 2 (very bizzare).

I have had this laptop for a little over two months. I bought it during a sale for about $150 off and it’s been really worth it. It’s been my daily driver. Been able to do some pretty good light gaming. 7 days to die, Tiny Glade and The Wandering Village run great. I cant run at max settings but its fine. The 1TB ssd and 24gb of ram are a nice bonus. The Co pilot stiff is hit or miss but it foes have enoughjuice to rin a light LLM Locally. The local LLM IS not fast but it gets the job done and shows what the laptop is capable of. My surface pen works great if you like drawing or using a pen on the touchscreen. My pen also sticks to the side this laptop has magnets sonyou can attach the pen.
