Printing quality is great, easy to use, easy software, only flaw that I see is that its a pretty loud printer, other than that everything else work great

The good: the print quality is great. It is quiet and fast. Installation on a Mac is a breeze.
The not-so-good: The printer stopped responding three days after I installed it. I had to restart it. Another three weeks went by and it stopped working again. I found a small error message under "supplies" indicating that print spooling was full. I had to search around to find out what that means and how to correct it. I had already rebooted the printer once but did so again, and the problem cleared up. I have read on Apple Community sites that support under the MacOS operating system is poorer than that for Windows. I don't know if this is true, but this is my third laser printer, and I have never before had to babysit the thing. I hope this is not a preview of things to come.

Needed new color laser printer after my old one died. Since I also needed a scanner decided to get an all-in-one. After doing my research, choice came down to HP or Brother. Went on Best Buy and saw refurbished HP for $100 less than new HP and $170 less than Brother. Had all the features I was looking for. When printer arrived, could not tell that it wasn't new. Was in perfect condition with all the accessories. Fairly simple to set up. Has worked perfectly from day I got it. Even called HP with a technical question and they supported the printer even though their records showed it was refurbished. Will look for such items in the future.

I’ve used many printers in my life and have setup printers for friends and family more than I can count and this printer was the easiest and fastest setup I ever done. And the quality is awesome.

This printer was just what I was looking for. You don’t even need it to be connected to a computer. It works well with my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook pro. Also work via mobile app away from home.

Relatively easy setup in a nicely-sized All-In-One laser printer. Not too heavy and doesn’t use much space. It has almost all the features you’d want, prints fast and has very good quality output, certainly more than adequate for most output. I’ve had similar HP printers in the past for work and they’re real workhorses; very dependable.

Good buy for the money. Toner cartridges are pretty expensive though, so I'm already looking to buy a new one. It was a workhouse for me though. Also had good experience with the flatbed scanner.

I wanted a laser printer that could print in color, print double-sided, and could handle cardstock. This printer handles all of my requirements wonderfully. I connect to it wirelessly because how I have my home office physically arranged makes it kind of impossible to connect to the printer via USB, and I have had no issues with the connection. Easy to set up, easy to use, I am completely satisfied.

Hi good evening
I’d just like to say the refurbished is a little scary, but the ok’. HP came through initially as a great buy. I’ve always sought out HP
printers when I’m in the new printer mood. Thanks for the chance to
purchase this device!
Thank-you again

Read a lot of reviews of this class of color laser. This rated high. There was a Cannon that rated similar but that was said to do better at printing photos. I went to BestBuy and compared as best I could how well the different ones worked. This was a lot more compact than the others I was considering and the one in the store seemed to print photos OK. None of the lasers do as good as a good inkjet because they simply don't have the printing resolution for starters and I don't think they have the capability for printing as many discrete colors. But lasers are almost always faster. This one seems pretty fast. As with all lasers, if it's sleeping it has to wake up and warm up the fuser, that's why there is a delay for first page out, the fuser has to get up to temp before it can print. THe first page out time seems ok to me but you will always have that delay if it's going to sleep.
The quality of non-photo printing is very sharp, good straight lines, nice color. If you are making copies (that is, not sending a print job from the computer but copying an actual piece of paper) the copy will, if you look closely at the detail, be just a tiny bit less sharp than the original was. I suspect that's a limitation of the scanner.. to get it to copy fast they have to keep the scanner head moving so it likely is scanning at less then photo quality dpi.
One of the things I really like about this printer compared to the others I was considering is that it's size is significantly smaller, it's actually small enough that it doesn't seem like I stuck an officer printer into my home. The other reasonably priced similar printers were noticeably bigger and about 10 pounds heavier.
This is a refurbished unit. I see nothing about it that doesn't look new. It has no scratches or other signs of prior use, the "machine status" page shows it has made a total of 200 copies, the toner cartridge report says they have made 40 copies. THey appear to be "starter" cartridges. I forget the exact numbers but the color show about 400 pages remaining and the black shows about 800 pages remaining.
For not much more than half the cost of a NEW one I'm quite satisfied with this refurbished one. I also bought the 2 year warranty which supposedly allows me to just bring it back to BB if anything goes wrong and let them fix it and not have to deal with the manufacturer at all.
