Absolutely love this 2 in 1 computer! I originally went in to buy a tablet and decided on a laptop since I enjoy sitting on the couch to type. The tablet mode once you have it set up with what works for you is amazing. So happy I went with this over a tablet. It has so many more uses and it is so fast! Fast, great picture, smooth scrolling

The computer is using an excellent combination of CPU, GPU, RAM, and the latest M.2 drive for phenomenal performance! I bought it during Black Friday and it does not disappoint. I enjoying using Photoshop CS6 and light gaming on it, the display is bright and colorful. A neat feature is that the laptop charges up to 50% within 30 mins.

The first machine I bought had a hard drive issue. BB replaced the machine and I went to work. I have run this machine ragged and it will not fail. Fast, awesome graphics for my "blind" eyes and excellent performance through and through. 8th Gen proc. Get one.

I've only had this laptop about 10 days or so, and so far so good. It was a toss up between the Yoga 920 and this one. Both have the same 8th gen. chip, 16gb of RAM, and a 512gb SSD. Tilting in the HPs favor is the 15' screen, the numerous ports including the mini-HDMI, the very functional keyboard, a SD reader, a graphics card, and the ability to self-install 16 more gigs of RAM. Good luck self-installing more RAM on the Yoga 920. In the Yoga's favor was the lighter weight, the super-sexy hinge, and the ability to charge it through the USB port. While cleaning up my office while making the buying decision I came across my very old Lenovo 410 with a 14' screen and remembered how pleased I was when I got the Lenovo 510 with a 15' screen, and that pushed me over towards the HP. I had a little hiccup upgrading the software of the HP, and called Tech Support, and they were SUPER responsive, and even called me back a few days later to make sure everything was still OK. Gotta love that. If you are not a power-user that Yoga is worth serious consideration, but if you are a power-user I think that you'll be happier with the HP.

Laptop is well-built with a great looking 4K screen and nice feeling keyboard. The touch screen adds more convenience than I thought it would, although it also makes the battery drain much faster than otherwise. The black friday deal on this made it an especially great value for the specs it provides.

Amazing, fast, powerful touchscreen laptop. I'm in love with it! It's not only fast it's beautiful to look at, so elegant. And being able to also use it as a tablet is an added plus.

The Spectre is a laptop that doubles as a tablet. I don't expect to use it much in tablet mode, if ever. Consequently the touch screen is often more an annoyance that a positive feature. I sometimes touch the screen while pointing out something to a colleague only to accidentally make an unintended change to the display. But that's just one of a few minor quibbles. The primary reason I bought this machine was the 500 GB SSD drive. The laptop boots up in seconds, and operations that involve a lot of I/O to the hard drive are very fast. (I mostly use this machine to run ArcGIS Desktop for the class I teach in Geographic Information Systems.) The laptop has a slim form factor which makes it lightweight despite the relatively large 15" screen. My last laptop was a 13.4" screen that was adequate to the job, but the extra real estate offered by the 15" screen is much appreciated. In fact, I had to reduce the Display from its recommended 3840 x 2160 setting to 2048 x 1152 to make it easier to capture readable screenshots. The screen was quite legible at the higher resolution, but the text was too small to project in PowerPoint presentations. Battery life has been quite good. I haven't tested the battery from 100% charge to near 0%, but I've routinely worked 4 - 5 hours without charging. About the quibbles: The matte finish of the device is very attractive, but it shows handling marks that were easily disguised on my previous HP Pavillion's textured surface. The trackpad no longer has dedicated left & right mouse buttons, but instead they are integrated as the lower part of the trackpad. This seems to be the trend with most modern laptops so it isn't a differentiator when buying, just something you may need to adapt to. Finally, the design makes it unusually difficult to raise the screen and open the laptop. There is a small incised space at the front for inserting a fingertip, but raising up at that point usually lifts the entire device rather than raising the screen. None of these quibbles should discourage you from purchasing this otherwise fine laptop.

Two weeks ago I purchased a new HP Spectre 15 inch laptop from Best buy when my old Toshiba crashed for good. The HP Spector is a beautiful lightweight laptop with many nice features. I especially like how fast it boots up, so much faster than any other computer that I have owned. I really like the facebook recognition feature as well. There are a couple of things that I do not like about this laptop. I hate the tiny recessed button on the small left side edge to turn on the laptop. All my Toshiba laptops had a large easy to see and much more available button right on the top side of the laptop in the upper right hand. So much better way to turn on my laptop. I am also having some difficulty getting used to the tedious cut and paste feature. It is difficult to click and copy a phrase. Then one has to go to the next site and press control v to paste the phrase. Tedious and time consuming. I also am having some difficulty just scrolling with two fingers as a pop up list always pops up and gets in the way.

The reason I did not give it 5 stars is the set-up of the computer. I ended up needing the Geek squad. I have set-up numerous computers on my own with no difficulties including my last one which was also an HP laptop. For this computer to set-up correctly you need to do all the updates first. The HP system set-up is not set-up to do this and I am used to a computer automatically updating itself. For some reason the laptop did not do this and I do not know how to go into the back layers of the computer to force updates. I went through the computer system set-up the normal way and on day three there was a failed update and then the computer continued to crash so I brought it to the geek squad and they explained the situation to me. Apparently I was not the only one who had had this problem.

This computer is stunning, has amazing clarity and is lightning fast. It's the perfect computer for those who find the Surface to be too small and want a real computer with a "real" computer feel which can also be used as a tablet. The keyboard is laid out with perfect spacing and the keys have the right amount of resistance. Two things of enough note to highlight here. 1. It's on the heavy side. This unit bucks the trend of computing devices getting lighter, and lighter, 2. BONUS Gift included. Nothing on the packaging, or the product description indicated the unit comes with it's own laptop sleeve, but indeed it does. It was tucked neatly into a cutout in the packaging foam so don't miss it. I was planning on buying one after I received the computer just to be sure I had one that fit well. No need! HP included a very luxurious looking sleeve which fits the computer perfectly. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend.

The computer is a nice unit but i Ieft Apple and returned to Windows 10 for this computer. I've already had numerous glitches with Windows 10 and even getting Microsoft peripherals to work with the computer. The HP part of this purchase is great. The operating system....not so much.

Got this on black friday sale. It's a great deal. MX150 is noticeably better than previous graphic cards that's also 2GB, like 940MX. It has slight heating problem as usual, but elevating the laptop with a holder that allows proper ventilation through the bottom helps.

This is an overall great laptop. It’s for the new 8th gen processors which work really well. I’ve only used it for less than a month, but I love fast and smooth it is. It also has a facial recgnition so I don’t even have to type in my password when booting on the laptop.
