    I bought an SSD drive for my laptop. I used this as a temporary housing while I backed up/transferred the data to the SSD. I had no problems. After I transferred the data to the SSD, I installed the SSD to the laptop, I then put the original laptop drive into this housing. I guess I can use it as an external drive or in case of emergencies or something.

    When replacing your old hard drive, this drive is easy to use! Just remove the end with the USB connector, plug your old drive into that, slide the unit back in place and tighten 2 screws. Plus it is USB 3.0 compatible.
