Needed an enclosure and this one works perfectly for what I needed.

This drive replaced an ATA drive that came with my HP laptop.. The installation of the SS drive made a remarkable difference in speed, stability, and overall performance. Definitely worth the $$

Overall it has served me well. Easy to use with a solid aluminum case that I really love. The one thing I didn't like about it was it was only USB Gen 2 but has a usb3 connect?. Which reduce my speed of the hard drive by half. A Gen 3.1 connection would make this a true value.

i got this item by ordering it and then standing in line for 10 min in the sun because the knucklehead working the door said it would take an hour. but after 5 min, i get a text saying it’s ready but now theres a long line and i got to wait in the sun but hey, the enclosure works like a peach.

This enclosure was just what I needed when my Toshiba Windows 7 laptop literally fell apart making it no longer usable. By getting this enclosure, I was able to convert my laptop hard drive to an external drive and use it with another laptop and still have access to everything I need.

if you are upgrading your laptop you can place the old drive in this enclosure and bring it along with laptop so if you missed an important file you can easily get it. You can also swap out the new drive with the old one if the new drive fails so your laptop is still useful

Quality product that it seems is a necessity since the laptop I bought only has a 512 GB SDD drive and does not have enough storage space for pictures, videos, and personal files. That means I am stuck with an external HDD.

Swapped out the ps4 hard drive for a larger one and had the original lying around and the case was perfect and works well with my xbox one no issues easy set up and installation very happy

I've bought several of these Insignia cases and have been quite pleased. I'm not a fan of the cheap, plastic cases, which is why I chose this sturdy aluminum case. These drives get tossed around in my kit bag as I use them for software installs and drive recovery as a Macintosh consultant. It comes with a mini screwdriver for removing the end cap. Just remove the end cap with ports on it to install a drive; no reason to remove the other end. Comes with a USB 3 cable. I've used these with SSDs and HD pulls from MacBooks where I've replaced the original drives with an SSD. The formerly internal drive is now the backup drive when put in one of these cases.

Very easy to use and makes transferring file from laptop hard drives simple

I bought this for my wife to put her old hard drive out of her laptop that the motherboard fried in. We were able to access important files again and keep using as a portable storage for her new laptop. Very easy to Install Hard Drive and plug and play after that.
