The enclosure works as stated. No surprises here. Easy to assemble.

I purchased this, to try to recover data, from some mechanical hard drives; that had failed to boot and wouldn't work, in some laptops that I was working on. I was able to use this enclosure, to access the hard drives and get the data off of them, before they totally failed. In that respect they worked fine. One of the screws wouldn't tighten well; as the screw threads are inside a "u" shaped portion of the aluminum case. It might be possible to tighten this with some pliers. The included USB cable was hard to connect to the case; I struggled at first but eventually, was able to insert it, as it needed to. Overall it worked for what I was doing but I thought the threads, USB connections, case quality, could be improved. As always, you get what you pay for.

I am only giving this a five star because it works for hard drives that are newer. If you're needing a converter for an older hard drive, this isn't the one. I tested this guy on one of my newer hard drives and it worked great. Good transfer speeds but I wasn't buying this for my newer hard drive.

I'm glad I saved my money and avoided the pricier "name brand" enclosures. This thing is sturdy, has a decent enough look that if you leave it on your desktop it doesn't look out of place. Comes with everything you'll need to get started except a drive, which is totally up to your desires!

Dropped this on the floor twice now and the Hardrive is still ticking.

Small, portable and easy to use. No problems so far.

I had a failing hard rive and went with the solid state replacement and there is a noticeable increase in response speed. Took a little while to get all the info transferred from one to another but needed to be done and everything ran just perfect.

I needed a drive to host my existing laptop drive as I migrated to a larger capacity one. This did the trick - installation was simple, and everything worked fine during th emigration from the old to the new drive. I now keep it in my laptop bag as a spare.

Works perfect for what I needed. Ben was a great sales associate. He knew what I needed and also help me out on some computer questions in reference to a laptop that I just purchased a few months ago.

I replaced a HD for a client in an old Windows Vista Laptop, and upgraded them to Windows 10 in the process, but they still wanted all the old data from the drive, without clogging up their new one. This was a very quick easy solution for them.

Very easy to use and setup. Had old hdd out and installed in no time.

Bought a PNY CS1100 480GB SSD to replace a 5400 rpm drive, took the old laptop drive and installed it into the case, the enclosure came with everything, the case, a screw drive and the USB cable. The only limitations to the product is the speed of the drive you put into it, the USB3.0 transfer speeds maxed the spinning hard drive compared to the new SSD.

This external hard drive works well for the purpose we need.

Returned because it was the wrong size, however the case seemed good and protective. Only downside it that it's a bit large, so be wary if you need a smaller, compact case.

I upgraded my laptop drive with an Solid State Drive. I was able to use the enclosure to clone (cloning software is separate) the SSD, and replaced hard drive with SSD in the laptop. Then installed the hard drive in the enclosure and use it as an external data drive.

Works for what I needed it for. It is easy to assemble.

Since the unit screws together, I find it's more secure at holding the drive inside than several of the cheaper plastic types bought bought from the big river in Brazil. And it comes with a screwdriver and a USB cord, what's not to like.

I used to clone my hard drive for a sad install. My computer doesn't have a USB 3.0 port so the actual process took a while. There wasn't really much instructions with the box, but not much was needed. The sad I had to clone to fitted nicely in the box, but I did notice that had I for some reason had to put the old hdd into the box it would had fit.
