I had replaced my laptop's hard drive with an SSD and wanted an external enclosure so I could use the hard drive as a backup device. This Insignia enclosure filled the bill for me. The only problem I encountered is that it doesn't always run at full speed, but I can't prove where the problem lies. Otherwise, it works as advertised.

I have two ssd enclosures and this one is ok. Have to have a screwdriver to swap ssd's out and its an older style of usb connection. Still works great!

Needed an external hard drive case for my macbook. The ribbon gave out and wasn't reading my drive but it was still good. Popped it into this case, tightened 2 screws, plugged in the usb cord and my hard drive is backup and working. Now it's time to get a SSD.

I purchased the enclosure in order to clone an old laptop C: drive. The interface works perfectly. I've done two more clones since then and every time the process was seamless. It came with the perfect screwdriver to open and close the box and the USB cable.

Needed a way to protect my data and hard drive while it was out of computer. This worked well, so I decided to buy more to use with hard drives from old computers. I wish there were better markings to note reassembly. Notches, logo covering both parts of the drive case etc. Somehow I've managed to put all of them together wrong the first time.

I used it to try to pull up information my laptop hard drive that was on there that I thought I lost. I think it is a good buy according to the magnificent Best Buy worker who helped with the purchase. I just haven't been able to implement it

Purchased this item for an SSD drive. I use it on a Mac laptop for my home folder. The laptop has a limited internal drive, therefore I use this to expand storage for the Mac. The only thing I dislike is the cable for the enclosure. It is too thick, and therefore does not bend well for placement on the desk.

I purchased this to make an external drive for my Xbox one by using the original drive from my PS4. I could not be happier. I've used cheaper enclosures in the past with varying results. This one feels solid and the HDD install is a snap (even comes with a small screwdriver to use)

The cover fit my hard drive like a glove. It is made from quality material and I love the color. The color matches my existing equipment so my set up look good. The instructions that came with the drive was clear and easy to follow. The cable made the transfer easy and fast. I would recommend both pieces of equipsment to others

This item is easy to use and install a 2.5" SATA HDD in. The cable included is well-shielded, and the included screwdriver is a welcome addition. Be mindful of the size of the screws when removing or replacing the enclosure cover. Great item!

Having quite a few spare hard drives floating around this contraption was just the ticket to help me find out what was on everything. Cheaper elsewhere but I couldn't wait.

Returned because it was the wrong size, however the case seemed good and protective. Only downside it that it's a bit large, so be wary if you need a smaller, compact case.
