This case worked perfectly for me. I had a dual drive raid case and one of the drives went bad. This case allowed me to figure out which drive was bad and easily hook the good drive up to my PC

Needed a way to access my files, the PC would not recognized the Operating system and would not boot. Took the drive and placed it in the case, presto complete access to my files.. the world is saved!

The enclosure is well made and houses a solid state drive that was removed from a lame computer that died.
Now, I at least have a portable HD that I can use and it actually works.

It does what it is supposed to. Overpriced. But OK. If you want it the day you need it you’re bound to buy it retail, and Best Buy knows it and prices it accordingly.

Feels very solid metal case for 2.5" hard drive i removed from laptop. You just remove 2 screws from one side of enclosure, attach the harddrive to case board, and close back up.

I removed my Mac book pro hard drive and it still worked but the pegs sticking out of the hard drive caused me not to be able to fully install it into the enclosed case.

This external 2.5" SATA Hard Drive enclosure is easy to set up, easy to store in your laptop case, and with its USB 3.0 interface, it is FAST! And, it's relatively inexpensive. Hard to beat those qualifications.

Great protection for my 2.5 inch drive. Great attention to detail. Even included a small screw driver in the box.

It is nice to put the older hard drive in it, but it uses screws to close rather than just having a sliding cover or something that allow faster swap outs. t the same time, though, there are not a lot of choises for this sort of thing out there.

It's an enclosure for 2.5" laptop SATA connection hard drives. Nothing fancy. Kinda falls apart when swapping hard drives, but if you need an internal SATA drive to connect to a laptop via USB, it's a good way to do it.

Nice package if you have a laptop drive to interface. If it's a full size you can also use it but you have to take the connector panel off the box. I had a windows OP system crash but it still allowed me to retrieve the files.

I replaced my PC Hard Drive with a large Solid State Memory. This enclosure now houses the old Hard-drive, used as one of my multiple backups.

This wasn't the first external hard drive enclosure I bought. I tried saving some money and bought one online elsewhere for half the price this Insignia is. It constantly kept disconnecting and powering off. I ended up returning it and bit the bullet and shelled out the extra money for this one. It works great. No issues whatsoever. It's 3.0 compatible so the transfer speeds are nice. Try and find an open-box one, the price will be more justifiable.
The performance of the enclosure gets a solid 5/5, but the $30 price tag knocks a star off for a total of 4/5

Just installed my old PC 1 TB mechanical hard drive, and pluged it in to my PC with the new Solid State 500gb hard drive, and now I can use it as a regular Storage Device.

I didn't know this type of product even existed so my expectations were low. Everything is fine. I was just surprised it took so much effort to open the enclosure. I think instead of screws, a latch of some sort would be much easier and more efficient.
