Works fine for a 2.5in HDD however I bought this enclosure to use an old SATA SSD as an external drive and my SSD has a read and write speed of 530+mbs and using this enclosure it was only getting 250mbs. Also for $30 I find this enclosure overpriced since a 1tb external drive will only cost you about $50.

I had a laptop of mine that stopped working. So, I had the hard drive removed from it and used this product to access all my files. I reformatted the drive, and now it works well as an external storage device which is great as a long term storage option. I think the price is a bit high, but I'm not that knowledgeable about hard drive enclosures in general.

This leaves you with about 4 lines of help if you have issues. The big deal is disable encryption or you're out of luck. As most disks are now defaulted by the os to enable it, be sure you turn it off before removing it from the computer. There does appear to be some ways to get around it - but it is arduous.

Does the job, with a small drawback
