Excellent TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture and good sound. Especially recommended if you plan to drop cable and use an antenna. This TV found 26 channels where I live. The quality of the reception for all 26 channels was great. .In comparison, I briefly tried the slightly higher priced Toshiba 43" TV and that TV found only 4 channels, and the quality of the reception of those 4 channels was poor. these results were obtained using the same antenna in the same location for each TV.

Best buy at Best Buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this TV for 7 years now. Got it for a very reasonable price and it’s still running strong, no issues. Since it was a basic TV and I was a wire cutter against cable, I bought a Fire TV stick to go with it and we still use this unit. I’ve been so happy with Insignia that I purchased another one recently for our new rec room area

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this TV on sale for $200. I have to say that this TV is awesome. The TV is big enough for most living rooms, not so heavy, and you have to make sure that you can either mount the tv or that your stand fits a 43 inch tv. The sound on the TV is eh, so I use external speakers (to be expected on new TV's). The picture quality is even bette than my 32 inch 1080p roku tv. I use the tv in my living room, and all of the colors seem to be pretty accurate, and the quality of the image is crisp clear! I love this tv and for the price, on sale or regular, unless you are getting the same size tv with roku or amazon fire os built in for the same price, go with this one. This is the cheaper option, and for what it is worth, I have not seen anything cheaper than this one at this size. I love this tv all around, and would recommend this one to anyone looking for a new tv.

Everyday use tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV surpassed my expectations in both picture quality and sound from the speakers. The speakers are crisp and clear and provide room filling sound. The picture is bright and consistent all across the board. I don't write reviews however I wanted to let everyone know that you cannot go wrong with this TV. I use it everyday and it has been wonderful. I would definitely buy it again and I am going to tell all my friends and family to consider this brand of they are asking about a new TV. I recommend getting this non smart version and making it smart by simply adding a fire TV stick by Amazon. A truly wonderful combo. I stream everything and I have it mounted on the wall right in front of my treadmill. Buy it you will not be disappointed!

Very nice television
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price was very reasonable. Even though I don't have cable or satellite, I still receive over 100 stations. The picture is surprisingly clear using only an antenna. I'm very satisfied. Would definitely recommend.

Loud start, one button
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a very loud start up and only one button (power/input) but everything else is great! Nice size, clear picture and nice sound. We got it for a great deal and overall we're satisfied.

Needs a decent remote or better sensor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high expectations after reading all the positive reviews. Will be returning to the store next weekend. On the positive side it picked up 42 channels with my off brand leaf style antenna. The problem is I can't switch between channels with the pitiful remote that came with the TV. Likewise as I saw in another review volume seems to jump around from high to low and then unable to adjust with the remote. I'm sitting about 8 ft at most from the TV and directly in front of the tv with the remote at the same level as the sensor and used the batteries supplied with it. I was trying to set it up to skip the spanish channels since its so hard to switch channels but that was a bust. The menu kept going out. It wouldn't stay in setup mode long enough to set up. At one point it switched to analog and thus I had no channels. Had to turn off and rescan channels. I finally gave up on watching live tv and set up the Chromecast. Seemed to work ok if I just watched Hulu which I'm able to control on my tablet. Picture is meh. Also the TV is slow to load channels when the remote actually worked. To be honest, I'm not sure if it's an improvement over the 10 yr old TV it replaced. Sadly I've already given that tv to goodwill. Will spend the extra money on a Samsung TV to replace this Insignia TV when I return. It might be ok if you are connecting other peripherals with their own working remotes and you only need to use the remote that came with the TV to change the input and turn it on and off. I found the volume to be quite loud. I can't imagine wanting additional volume. That seems to be a complaint I see for many other brands, but should not be an issue with this tv. It was defaulted to 20, but I adjusted between 9 and 12.

Nice TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this TV to replace a 32in LCD. We couldn't go much bigger than a 43in in the room it is mounted. Very happy with the picture. Even at 60hz it has a nice smooth picture watching sporting events, movies, etc. The only drawback is that when you turn on the TV and DirecTV at the same time using the DirecTV remote it will occasionally get stuck in a 480p signal. Then I have to shut the DirecTV box off, wait a few seconds, turn the DirecTV box back on, then go to the DirecTV settings menu and change it to 1080i. It's fairly annoying.

Very good picture at a great price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV to replace a Vizio that I returned to WalMart. The picture is very good, without making any adjustments, except turning off EnergySaver. Good sound also. I have no problem with brightness, as the reviewer who gave it a poor review did. I did with the Vizio, had to turn it down to nothing so picture didn't look washed out. So far so good.

Excellent TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV has a better picture than it should. Black levels are excellent. Colors are bright and vivid. Contrast is extremely good. I didn't expect this much quality from this price point. Most LED TV's at this price point have a blue tint problem that cannot be fixed using the white level controls or the hue controls. This TV does not suffer from this. It really is a good little TV. Don't know about the sound as I never use TV speakers. I always use a soundbar or sound system.

Nice image.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a great deal at Best Buy. This TV is light and doesn't;t produce as much heat as my old 720P LCD. The LED picture is nicer than the LCD. It handles movement better and the color black looks great. It's not a smart TV but it's perfect if you already have a streaming device like a ROKU, Firestick, Chormecast, or Apple TV.

Nice picture for 200 bucks.... but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the unit was not bad for the price, however I dont have $200 to toss into the shredder every few years. I refuse to be a willing victim of planned obsolescence which is present in virtually everything you can purchase today. The last set I bought lasted 10 years and I still have it, and use it without the remote control. The screen, back-light, and power supply on this unit should last 7 to 10 years too, but a remote control will last 2 to 3 years, either from the poor quality (but expensive) leaky batteries destroying it, misplacement, or the lack of it being manufactured anymore. ***WARNING*** This TV has no external power button or input source control on the case itself. It REQUIRES the remote control to operate it. The only power/source button is on the remote control. It was promptly returned for that reason.

Noise at start up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What is that noise when I turn it on before the picture comes on ? Its like the volume was up and then cut off , I leave the volume at 0 when I turn it off, so what is it , or is it just mine ? Other from that , this is a great tv , easy set up , nice picture and bigger than my old 39 inch Insignia....

Great tv for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a bigger tv for my bedroom. Easy to setup (digital antenna, firestick, blu ray). After adjusting the sound and picture the tv is awesome! Clear HD picture and the speakers are more than loud enough(I keep it on 4).

Great basic TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV for my 83-year-old mother. She doesn't have cable or internet but uses an OVER THE AIR ANTENNA to get around 50 channels. Because this is a 'basic' TV, (no NetFlix), the CPU of the TV is not overburdened with running a bloated OS. The channel and volume changes fast went you use the remove. I purchase a 32' Samsung for the same price and had to return it because it was painfully slow because of all the internet software. It also has headphone and optical output for future headphones (because she's 83) The image is not OLED, but for the price and how it will be used, its great!!
