OK no-frills TV, but for a few bucks more...

I bought this TV to mount on the wall in from of our treadmill, so a no-frills TV was just what we needed, as we connected an Apple TV as a streaming source. The TV had decent 1080P picture and OK sound for $199. To be critical, I felt the edge sharpening was a bit over-done, showing artifacts. This particular TV did have a small defect in the lower edge of the display that prompted a return. When I got to the store to return the TV, I decided to step up and purchase a Black Friday 4K Samsung and wow am I glad I did. I could have given this TV a 1 star because of the defect, but I have another Insigna that I love so I still think all things considered 2+ stars is fair. Do the math: Together with a third party streaming device, I realized the value just cannot compare to the most current 4K sets. I spent $77 more on the same size TV that was 4K and smart, Factoring the added cost of a streaming stick, I would recommend against this TV in favor of the newer technology. Better picture and smart tech built-in = no brainer

Let me start buy saying , when the set works it works , nice sound , nice picture for what I want to use it for . Now the bad , I am now going on my 3rd set , so far the first two do the same thing , When the picture comes on and it does not matter where the volume is set , the sound wants to come blaring through at full volume and then goes to what ever volume setting you have it at , I prefer 0 , so then I can turn it to where I want to hear it at . Geek Squad came replaced the circuit board , did same thing afterwards , was told they would order new speakers and see if that was the problem , Well a day before they were supposed to show up to do the work , I had to call them to find out about the parts that were supposed to be sent ahead of time .They canceled the order and said they would just replace the TV instead and use the 1 year warranty ., fine , then they tell me I would have to wait ANOTHER week for it to be delivered.... And I would have to purchase ANOTHER 5 year Warranty policy !!! So fine bought the policy ... Again ... Was told a Tech would be bringing the replacement out and installing it for me free , fine . What showed up unannounced were two men in a 24 foot truck that blocked the street parked the wrong way , and caused chaos on my street . But that is for another story . These 2 men did not care about installing or set up , just take it out of the box , and take the old one out and leave... Fine , I had to do install and set up , So after I do someone else's job , I turn it on and guess what , IT DOES THE SAME THING AS THE OTHER SET .... I tried it hooked to Dish ... Noise... I did it with an OTA antenna ... Noise ... The set is bad , so now I am waiting to see if Best buy will upgrade this TV and keep my newly purchased protection plan at their expense . If they will not , then back it goes , I want whole dollar refunded and I will take my business else where ... Wish me luck , the ball is in your court Best Buy , do the right thing ...

Well this TV had so much potential. I looked at hundreds of reviews on here before buying this tv and decided to take a chance. After, buying this tv it was working fine and then started to reboot itself over and over and started to have power related issues with the board inside the tv. Long story short, I gave it back to the store and got a sharp tv instead. Second time taking a chance with insignia, second time I was unhappy. Never again..... oh and customer support through insignia is terrible. I called to have someone put me on hold for 5 minutes and then hang up on me. I called back to find out that their customer support had closed 5 minutes prior. What a joke. Never again will I support this company.

    Big Regret

I bought this TV on Black Friday. It worked ok for the first month, but then the picture started going blurry and then complete snow. Every time I turn the TV on, it is a crap shoot as to what kind of picture I will get. It may be clear, blurry, complete snow, or it may be clear for the first half hour and go to blurry or snow. It may be blurry when turned on, and then after 10 to 15 minutes become clear or go completely snow. I called the Geek Squad and they didn’t have any suggestions on how to make it stay vivid. I am going to return this and get a real TV from a real manufacturer. Guess I will see what kind of customer service Best Buy has. I have only had this TV 2 months, so this should not be happening.

    Crap

Poor design. When switching inputs, tv develops horrible snow, no sound. Have to turn tv on and off multiple times to be able to watch tv. When playing on xbox have to turn sound way up to hear it, and when you switch back to watch tv sound is extremely loud. Sound while watching tv cuts in and out every 20 seconds or so for about 1-3 seconds. Its not a hdmi cable issue, i have very expensive cables, and the problem is only on the hdmi 1 input. Xbox one on hdmi 2 and roku on hdmi 3 have no issues. But when i put xbox or roku on hdmi 1, i get the sound cutting out issue.

    Wireless Connectivity Issues

It worked well for the 1st 8 months. Then it wouldn't connect o WiFi. I was still under warranty so Geek Squad did something and made it work. As I type this, it is doing the same thing 4 months later. I had to break out the ethernet cable and its not ideal. Now I have to go back again, and spend at least an hour of my time, for the second time to hopefully get it "fixed".

Don’t buy this tv. Let me start off by saying, the price is good but it’s a cheaply made tv. I got it for Black Friday. The first week I had it, I plugged it up and I smelled a scent of burning wires. That was the first red flag. Second, when I would turn the tv on, the first second of it being on, the sound comes screaming at me, then went back to normal. No matter what volume level it was on, it would scream for the first second. Lastly, the sound quality on this tv is TRASH. I would have to turn the volume up to like 40 to hear the shows clearly, even at 40 volume, I still found myself moving closer to hear. I returned it less than a month later. I now have a LG tv, best upgrade I ever made. Spend the extra money on a good tv. Insignia brand is not it !!!

HORRIBLE DISAPPOINTING TV, I bought this tv 6 weeks ago. At first it worked fine. Then it started to shut on and off constantly be itself. Then the picture started to jump from sharp to blurry every few seconds. It's SO frustrating and annoying. It's impossible to enjoy watching anything like this! I will NEVER purchase Insignia again!!

The first one I bought lasted a month and the screen went out. They gave me a new one. Another 2 months later, the power and volume quit but they won’t replace it this time and said to call Insignia which is Best Buy’s brand. I’ll just throw it away and buy a real tv from somewhere else.
